Hello All,
Me and my partner are hoping to travel to Malaysia + Singapore sometime in the last week of July to around Mid August (We are flexible on dates but would prefer around 2 weeks between 20th of July 2026 to 14th of August) as we have 3 weeks of annual leave left.
We are Manchester-based and are hoping to fly out from there, or perhaps London if it may be cheaper. For our budget we are looking at hopefully under 800/850 for flights each, and fir Singapore we will likely fly from Malaysia
Any advice is appreciated
Thank you

[SUMMARY] HOW TO FIND CHEAP FLIGHTS
What is the currency for 850?
Hii, its £!
Flew from Manchester to Singapore last year with Singapore Airlines, they fly direct from MAN to SIN which makes things easier. I think we only paid about £800 each or less for flights but we booked a year in advance when flights were cheaper.
If you are trying to keep costs down, I would advise to spend as little time in Singapore as possible! I love it and spent a week there, but it's much more expensive than Malaysia.
I visited in early September which seemed like the perfect time - no monsoons when in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Sometimes rain but it went away pretty quick.
Don’t just use a search machine for the whole flight, but try manually adding a stopover in between. Last year (june/july 2024) we visited Malaysia from the Netherlands. The cheapest flights I found through the search machine were around €900, and had 1 (short) stopover. I manually added 2 nights in Abu Dhabi as a stopover (using the ‘multiple destinations’ option of the search machine). The flight price then dropped to €600, for one leg Amsterdam-Abu Dhabi, and one Abu Dhabi-Kuala Lumpur and vice versa.
Of course we had to pay for a hotel in Abu Dhabi but it was quite affordable, I think we spent around €160 for the 3 of us (2 adults and 1 child). So still worth it. And there was cheaper hotels available.
We also liked seeing a new destination that we otherwise wouldn’t visit.
539 GBP / $722 USD is doable for your dates.
Jul 15 take Turkmenistan Air Milan to Kuala Lumpur for $316 https://www.google.com/travel/flights/s/Y2RJcTVf1BVcVi848
return Aug 3 on Etihad from Singapore to Manchester for $336 https://www.google.com/travel/flights/s/ZxZ6jEPCEtoWxFVN6
7 months prior is a little too early to get tickets for Manchester to Milan i think, but if you like these prices for the transcontinental portion, you should get those now and wait a little for the ticket to Milan. Should be a little less than $70.
Use Google flights to search then book through skyscanner, momondo or direct with the Airline as Google Will be a bit more expensive
skyscanner has retunr flights for those dates, around £600/650 each for both malaysia and singapore
i havent looked at flights between singapore and malaysia, but the coach is around 6 hours long and £15 one way each
also be warned, its southwest monsoon season in july/august
Thank you! Aaah, we are planning to go to KL, Genting + Cameron Highlands, Ipoh, Langkawi and Penang, will there be flooding or short rains?
