I had a 1971 Datsun 240Z a while back. All of those 1970 to 1978 had bad hatch and taillight seals and/or all rusted out. I had to put a long ass exhaust extension like a foot probably more. It helped cut down on carbon monoxide poisoning from fumes coming in through the back end.
However, I highly suspect this is not the intended function here.
Most fun car I've ever owned. It only ran high 14s in the quarter, but the handling was top notch. Mine was set up for autocross with a mildly built L28 from the later 280ZX (flat top pistons) but with the earlier heads, giving a static CR around 10+. It had infinitely predictable handling -- could slide and rotate at will. No other car comes close for me.
That's the funny thing.. I don't remember. I really don't think I would've sold it. Don't remember it getting totaled. There's just a blank little bit in my memory. No idea. I also had a body for a 1970 240Z I was restoring. Car #2492 in the entire (US) lineage of Z cars ever. It's gone too. There's a memory hole there as well.
Yep. These oddball little cars have a pretty active following. People troubleshoot and show off mods like any other car group. I drive one and got a kick out of this!
Why are all hideous and dangerous mods just legal with you guys? Car manufacturers have to go lengths to make an optimal safe vehicle, yet every John Doe can do just what he wants with it? I'll never understand this way of thinking.
Car owner probably should put a safety flag at end of exhaust tip to warn drivers.
Don't follow too close, ever. Easy.
Looks like a 2 for 1, bust n burn dem shins
Doosh-mobile
I wish I got a photo of the whole car. It looked like a 12-year-old made it on Need For Speed lol
Hahaha
Shocker

Fart filter
Coming out from that big round bubble booty
Someone will jump on the exhaust boner before the motor grenades 🤣
Completely unnecessary
This is the tailpipe version of having a massive truck hitch and people whacking their shin on them.
Owner likes the burned skin look on their legs I guess.
Shin roasters
Why does it look like anal prolapse?
I love that there' as now completely useless hitch under them.
Helps prevent a few tailgaters, I like it....but would trip getting groceries HAHA
Hop on and hop off?
Little dickies sticky outy
