Yeah if you literally partially blink you’ll miss it too! You have to almost scrub it forward and backward to see the pieces of it flying off after it exploded from the pressure
I used to work in a major furniture warehouse picking orders for deliveries when I was younger. There was this cherry picker forklift operator who worked there for several years before I started. He was pretty fast and confident in his skills. On day he turned down a aisle too fast and too soon. He nicked the base of a shelf that had 8 tears of sofa beds. A portion of the aisle came down and knocked 4 more over. Worked stopped for like 3 days.
IDK what happened here, but i can attest how complacency does lead to "accidents."
I also worked as part of a construction safety dept. The workers hated my boss because he cut absolutely zero slack. He would always tell me that he hated calling families when things went bad and he made sure he did everything he could to prevent what may happen.
That's rather sad.
I hope it was for training. By which I mean, the main reasons for dipping water like that are for fire fighting or training to do same. Sad they crashed, but if there was a real fire then sad twice because a fire isn't getting the water it needs to put it out.
now not only the fire still needs putting out, he's gonna need help getting out safely himself..
double screwed himself.. Plus that whole destroyed helicopter thing too
Still water is pretty notorious for being hard to judge your distance over - it just looks like a mirror of the sky, and if there are no ripples, it's almost impossible to figure out unless you're near the shore (to see reflections of trees).
Water took out the tail rotor
Well yeah, water at high speeds behaves like a solid
https://i.redd.it/e9ojgcxayf7g1.gif
It behaves like water actually
Yeah. Probably like the number 1 thing you don't want to break on a helicopter. Newtons third law on display here.

Idk man I think I'm gonna get Hellen Keller to verify these things just to be sure
Dang rail totar blown
Wow I totally missed that. Looking at the wrong things
Stupidity took out the tail rotor...
First day on the job
And the last one.
Pretty good for a first attempt at flying a helicopter
Shoulda had Tank load the pilot program beforehand.
Tank, load the ass eating program. Im going in!
2 girls 1 cup locked and loaded, you may proceed
Love this comment 🤣
Dozer noooooo
Sheesh slow down there bud, where's the fire?
That looks expensive.
Could be a few bucks but I'm no expert
Buckets

It's at least 5
r/thatlookedexpensive
French fried when he should have pizza'd
I hate it when that happens…😐
Right? This is literally me on my daily commute to Helicopterville when I get thirsty and need lake water
And he never flew again ...
When we did this is the Army we would hang out the door and guide the pilots into the water and then out of it. The pilot can’t see the bucket
Can't park their mate
There*
Depends how close they are with the copilot
Did this guy suffer from ground effect on the water?
Tail rotor hit the water and broke
I enjoying watching birds take baths! 🥰
I have some rice, it'll be fine
Pilot was "wai tu low" Copilot was "aih phuc" Technician was "phuc king pylots"

As you can see, he does not have that helicopter anymore. This is because he lost his license as he cannot park there.
I believe matter transition laws on earth supercede whatever authority he thought he had to land there.
It’ll buff right out.
Woopsie
Amateur.
I hope they didn't drown

Does this hurt the helicopter?
newton's 3rd law
BF6 heli pilot identified.
That did not go as planned
Haddalayerdown
It is just one of those new heli-sub hybrids.
Good landing?
Good landing is one you can walk away from. Excellent landing is one you walk away from and can fly the aircraft again.
Yeah that's what i was asking
Whoops.
Physics laws always exist to show the rich there are limits.
Only missed by 100%
Whoops!
Hell of a way to lose your help license.
Luckily nobody was impaled by the debris.
Isn't this the incident in France a few months back?
The rope is too short
So uh why did e use a heli with tail rotor for stabilization for THAT?
came in way too hot
Vortex ring state, sometimes called "settling with power."
oh he thought he was slick

That water is pretty heavy
Expensive bucket of water you got there.
That tail blade will get ya ever time.
Guess the buckets aren't coming.
Why was the bucket pulled so far in?
wow smooth. in the meantime the fire burns unhindered
I am thinking whoever needed that water delivery did not get their order! 🤔
Power!!!!!
"Dave thought about telling his boss about the accident..." but it was peaceful here, maybe he would just never go home.
Soooo, are they okay?
Dumbass for diving down so hard. 100% pilot error.
Does not belong here. This was an accident of someone risking their lives to save property and lives. OP is the shittyUnit..
Bonehead didn’t hit the bucket lowering switch
