• It's going to be interesting when, in fifty or sixty years or so, historians look back at the UK and realize it's the greatest example of frogs in a boiling pot the world had ever known.

Thing is, Brits have been doing everything you're supposed to do in a democratic system, but it's only gotten worse.

It's now dawning on the population that the system is rigged against them.

Socrates did not like democracy for this exact reason, and I get hate for this but I agree. Democracy is essentially mob rule. Mobs can be swayed easily in many directions and does not lend towards impartial justice.

  • There’s a general smarmy, holier than thou attitude that a lot of UK Redditors have. They all genuinely think that they are genuinely smart and the rest of the UK population are dumb and stupid and probably shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

I get the impression they all live in middle-class neighbourhoods and can afford to have things like sugary drinks and alcohol taxed without any dent in their finances (but it makes it harder for the working class who in their eyes are a moral failure). They know that they won’t be affected by the migrant crisis so they can happily call for more migrants to come to the UK to make them look good without actually experiencing any of the side-effects of mass migration.

its more likely the other way around - these are people on the margins and/or living off mom and dad. the increasing hardships and struggles they have are causing uncomfortable levels of cognitive dissonance. this then leads to a doubling down/radicalization in their ideologies to compensate.

  • Of course they have a trans flag in the title. Nothing is more performative than a progressive cause.

  • They’re using net migration to hide the reality of the situation.
