Type 055 able to sink it with 40 hypersonic missiles from 2,000 kilometers away lol. What a fucking waste of money. Nevermind the Kirov class’ radar can detect it from halfway across the sea.
Of course it's AI. You could bet your life savings on that fact. There is absolutely no fucking way that anyone involved could have been bothered to commission an actual artist for these renders, nor would any artist likely be interested in accepting that work if offered.
thats the point of missile destroyers. why invest 50x the resources in a ship if 5 smaller, cheaper ones can do the job better?
that also means the US would have to start producing 406mm shells. i doubt they will put railguns on it. and the point of BBs are big guns. I cant imagine that Trump or Hegseth are intelligent enough to go for function over looks.
Also main gun slavos would be very easy to shoot down with current day interception tech and the fact that a mass of metal and tnt cant change trajectory
How I was in stellaris, trying to make a custom ship design without knowing shit about logistics or cost just slapping all the high end modules on a template and immediately bankrupting my society
Battleships are outdated and even aircraft carriers are becoming risky if they are being used against an enemy that has modern missiles. This idea for a modern battleship will end up being negotiated down to recommissioning and/or modernising the Iowa class battleships, then using those to sell the idea of a naval invasion of Venezuela by using them for shore bombardment.
Xi'an JH-7A Flying Leopard II, Chinese close air support and naval strike fighter. The one in this picture has been loaded with YJ-83 anti-shipping missiles. Admittedly, they'd probably need to use something much bigger than that to destroy it, but fortunately China introduced the DF-21D, the world's first intercontinental anti-shipping ballistic missile... ten years ago.
Our LA class nuclear subs built in the 80s could sink this with literally one torpedo. If any money goes into the construction of this giant POS everyone should be pissed.
Weren't large battleships discontinued because they sink when hit just like anything else and they're wildly expensive to build? This may end up as the world's most expensive coffin.
It's less that and more that even with extremely long range guns, aircraft carriers are superior on offense compared to BBs and submarines are superior on defense, with smaller ships made with less resources able to do everything in-between.
Battleships were antiquated during wwii. Jean Bart and Vanguard got continued out of sunk cost fallacy pretty much and the latter just ended up on royal family limousine duty lol
Ah that's what it was then. Yeah, this is at most an industry support idea, and at worst a coffin for 5000 Americans. And worst vs best could be swapped
The USA has its own fiat currency. The actual problem is that since moving its industry to China, the USA no longer has the same industrial capacity as it did in the days of the USS We Built This Yesterday.
I bet he was pissing and shidding for a new aircraft carrier just so he could slap his name on it until he was finally convinced that it's not possible but he can have a few destroyers with his name in it.
The displacement they're talking about is larger than the Iowa class. I wonder if he watched a history channel special at 2 am about the Montana class successors that never got built

"The most lethal surface combatant ever constructed."
1) It hasnt been constructed.
2) The Kirov and type 055 are RIGHT THERE
From what they claim, they want this thing to be even bigger than Orlan, which is 28,000 tons. The Trumpship is supposed to be 40,000 tons.
Is that even feasible?
I dunno... How big is Trumps ego?

Please president Xi vaporize the coast of the gringos
Is this satire? That 3D render looks worse than something you'd see in the early 90s.
It almost looks AI
Of course it's AI. You could bet your life savings on that fact. There is absolutely no fucking way that anyone involved could have been bothered to commission an actual artist for these renders, nor would any artist likely be interested in accepting that work if offered.
To be fair, they've probably got some graphic designers who'd do it, but it's almost certainly AI
And then he’s gonna ask for the Nobel of Peace lmao
Nah why would he? He's got the FIFA Peace Prize now.
I think thats the bare minimum to win.
In before Ansar Allah strap Semtex on a bunch of DJI and sink what should have been American healthcare.
What in the Command & Conquer FUCK is this shit??
Dont insult C&C like that
Touché. C&C Generals is peak 🙏
USS Defiant, more like USS Deviantart because that's probably where they stole the render from.
dumbfucks are gonna built a yamato and find out why their predecessors built so many aircraft carrier
Maybe the battleship could be used for shore bombardment and not to take out other ships head on.

Yeah this is clearly meant to cheaply demolish a south American coastline to clear an amphibious landing. This is not meant for fighting a navy.

Skill issue tbh. Ship components barely cost anything.
Besides, you can always permanently borrow land and people of those around you. It's for their own good, really.
Tbf that was my first time in the shipyard years back.
I’ve since become a hivemind of radical pacifist plants with no real need for warships or vassals anyway

Nice to see Trump delivering on something that was a Democratic policy. Who says bipartisanship is dead

Xian Aircraft Corporation my beloved
What plane is that?

Somebody just mocked that up to pacify Trump, I bet it never gets made
Actually forgot about military contractors. Yeah they’ll probably make it actually
Is that a fucking basketball court at the front or am I tripping?
I assume it's a helipad? 🤷🏾♂️
Helipad
There's a reason why the US in WW2 built more carriers instead of more battleship
It's a good thing drones and hypersonic missiles don't exist or building large capital ships might seem stupid

The PLAN high command must be laughing their asses off
Here's hoping they spend billions actually trying to build this.
The most likely outcome IMO is they'll keep showing Trump AI pictures of the ship until he dies, and then pretend it never happened.

I can't wait to see the first one of these things sink (this time, literally) just as fast and hard as Trump University or Trump Vodka.

US trying to do a Kirov class?
no, Kirov actually worked
U$$ Ego
Draft dodger gets a warship class named for him?
I couldn't help but chuckle, this is laughably stupid
