When a rich person says they're working, they mean attending meetings, ordering everyone around and travelling to fancy places for more meetings. Ohh the horror
but they're self made billionaires... I mean sure, they needed a trust fund, and inheritance from their wealthy piece of shit parents, and exploiting and fucking over everybody and everything around them, but theyre self made!
That, and the administrative "work" of scheduling and paying all of the people who do their cooking, cleaning, maintenance, driving, parenting, etc. for them.
Even worse, the 'people' in the comments section are either bots, feds or entitled middle class teenagers from gated communities who've never worked a day in their life
We tax the rich because they pay slave wages that keep labor poor. "Taxing the lazy fucks who don't wanna work for themselves." Is just the rich assholes saying we don't want to pay a living wage. They also avoid paying taxes, have loopholes created by tax accountants. NTM they lobby the government to remove customer protections that keep us safe from the crap products that they sell to us. The super rich didn't get that rich because they are special, they did it stepping on others backs and screwing them over. Almost all of them had major funding when they started out.
Stop idolizing the billionaires, they want us to be SLAVES!!!!!!!!!! They don't care what color you are.
The irony of the comment saying rich people work and aren't lazy, only for a couple sentences later to say working hard doesn't make you rich, investing do.
Taxing the poor instead of the rich is like trying to provide drinking water for a city by draining a creek instead of pulling from a 100 meter wide river.
Okay, I'm going to say it, it is not like the rich don't do anything. They just don't do a bajillion times more work than the average worker. It is also the case that because billionaires are able to control their own schedule and that they don't have to work so hard because they own Capital, they can make themselves look more busy than they actually need to be.
A CEO is essentially a figurehead for the company but that does not necessarily mean that they are good. Many people who become super rich and CEOs of companies are just people who made a product and got lucky. And yes got lucky. They got lucky by being born at the right time, being born to the right race, and then just creating a product that at the time was something people wanted.
Here's the thing, making something that people want is not a bad thing, and providing a service that people want or even need is also not a bad thing. We just don't believe that that compensation should be a bajillion times more especially when many billionaires are performing wage theft. It's so interesting how wage theft is the greatest form of theft in the US often out ranking other forms of theft including a petty theft and armed robberies, for some reason they still think that the billionaires and whatever are the good guys. If you commit wage theft from your workers, prevent them from unionizing, and giving them just barely enough of a wage to live off of you're kind of a bad person.
i'm tired of wasting pretty much all of my time making someone else richer and i live in a country with 5 weeks of vacation, it may sound like a lot (almost 10% of the year) until you have to start distributing the vacation-weeks over the year and you realize how long the time there is between each
It's like saying that people are too lazy to walk when they drive a car. I guess productivity only counts when you serve a rich CEO for the rest of your life while he earns unreasonable amounts.

So… Tax the rich?
Also, poor unemployed people don’t tend to have that much money.
When a rich person says they're working, they mean attending meetings, ordering everyone around and travelling to fancy places for more meetings. Ohh the horror
My Daily routine as a hard working CFO on 500k/yr
7:00 – breakfast prepared by the butler
8:00 – driven to the office in the Rolls Royce, by my professional driver
9:00 – 3 hour board meeting.
12:00 – 2 hour lunch at most expensive restaurant in the city, with an important client (who I went to school with).
14:00 – Playing golf with the city councillor who I bribe to allow me to ignore labour laws
17:00 – driven back to my suburban $10M mansion, this time in the Bentley!
18:00 – Chef-prepared dinner.
19:00 – Conference call with subordinates (I bully them into working overnight to finish a project that doesn’t actually matter).
21:00 – Bedtime.
but they're self made billionaires... I mean sure, they needed a trust fund, and inheritance from their wealthy piece of shit parents, and exploiting and fucking over everybody and everything around them, but theyre self made!
Erm they’re self made trust me bro
Ironically, their "work" is the kind that's most easily replaced by AI. Moving money between accounts, mostly.
The bourgeoisie will lecture you on the virtue of hard work while having never done a single second of it themselves.
That, and the administrative "work" of scheduling and paying all of the people who do their cooking, cleaning, maintenance, driving, parenting, etc. for them.
"Just a few more years of this 9-5 and I'll be ready to become a billionaire."
That's what pursuit of happyness does to your brain
Just a few more million years, no biggy.
Boss is going to see my hustle and recommend me to executive roles anyday now.

Tax?
Oh no, we gonna just take their shit away and use it for the betterment of society.
Exactly. My criticism of “tax the rich” comes from this angle.
The typical "Meritocracy exists, as shown by my inheritance from Mommy and Daddy" comment.
"Exploitation is good because one day I might get to be the exploiter!"
I'll bet none of the ppl in that comment section are rich
These are the guys who think that they can become a billionaire by hustling.
These are the guys who think that those "success stories" Are real.
Even worse, the 'people' in the comments section are either bots, feds or entitled middle class teenagers from gated communities who've never worked a day in their life
Why is bro defending rich people with a Kim Jong Un pfp bruh💔
Bro is 13 years old
Holy fucking shit, I am going to [removed by reddit]

I don’t wanna live in this planet anymore…
Me too
This must be how pro-monarchist peasants sounded. “You say kings don't deserve power, but they work harder than all of us”.
👢👅
“The rich work hard” while having a Kim Jong Un profile picture is crazy
The rich should consider themselves lucky if we only tax them
“Million dollar empire”? A million dollars these days just means you own a house.
Bootlicker mentality

fine, we don't tax them.
we fking eat them.
I hate it when people substitute "ass" for "ahh", grow up
Also tax what from the poor? They don't have any money, that's the problem
I've heard the first ironically, but I didn't think people actually thought that 😭
all of these people think they’re the rich or want to be the rich. they’re thinking ‘why would i tax my current or future self?’
The irony of the comment saying rich people work and aren't lazy, only for a couple sentences later to say working hard doesn't make you rich, investing do.
Reactionaries love turning being broke into a moral failure.
Their comments are proof they don’t understand how this works.
Taxing the poor instead of the rich is like trying to provide drinking water for a city by draining a creek instead of pulling from a 100 meter wide river.
The new answer: "poor need to manage money"
"OMG fuck poor people" summary
Go tell that to people who work 60+ hours and still live paycheque to paycheque.
You can tell these people don’t own businesses because how are you gonna pay for anything if you tax poor people with no money
Why would you tax a blood sucking parasite when you could just yank the sucker off and feed it to a bird?
Them boots must be tasting phenomenal
I don't think we should tax the rich...
We should eat them
I don't need the microplastics, let's put them with the other micro plastics in the ocean

Do these guys think that people were lazier when the top marginal tax rate was 90% during the 50's and the early 60's?
I wonder what it’s like to exist in one of the brains that wrote out these comments
Liberals want to tax the rich. Leftists want to liquidate them as a class.
It's like saying that people are too lazy to walk when they drive a car. I guess productivity only counts when you serve a rich CEO for the rest of your life while he earns unreasonable amounts.
Tax the rich is a liberal euphemism for eat the rich which is a euphemism in and of itself
No, they truly believe the rich have some kind of place in society. They simply believe that place should be less obviously exploitative.
