I mean, Bael's story is very solidly rooted in Destiny lore. He's got a similar personality and gear sure but story-wise they're in completely different spots

Palpatine is grooming kylo to become his vessel by telling him tales on how he could be better than anakin amd how he is actually the chosen one.
Han realising kylo is his son pretends to switch sides and save kylo from the inside.
Rey is the hero trying to take down the threat because of some plans for a super weapon she found on the disk inside a droid
Luke is a jedi helping out snd realising the failings of his order caused the fall of kylo
Finn seeing the devastating effects of a test of the super weapon is the reason for his defection
Leia believes the first order is foolish for hiding the first order and decides to help han take it down
Chewie is pissed at han for "running" again but ultimately so proud of him for trying to help
Mon mothma totally agrees with leia but has to play politics
The new republic wants to hide the rise of the first order
Ultimately i think it can easily be twisted into a force awakens that sets up kylo and his arc way better
New republic can still blow up and han can still die to kylo
Not everything is 100% match but a lot is pretty damn close to their roles in the sequels imo
Yeah earlier in December destiny 2 renegades dropped. It's the second expansion this year and it's kinda destiny with a star wars skin on top of it. Worked on in collaboration with bungie and lucasfilm.
I thought it was going to be fortnite trash but they somehow managed to make it distinctly destiny but with a star wars feel on top.

Bael would definitely add a fresh, badass backstory that Kylo deserves, giving him more depth and a stronger connection to Sith legacy!
