I don't necessarily want to start drama the week of Christmas. This was from yesterday; no one has replied to his comment, but I've racked-up likes on the post. Should I reply with Man in the Mirror or just leave it be?
If they're coming for Christmas, don't. If they're not, have a blast with it!
I did that last year when my bat-shit crazy MAGA qultist aunt refused to come for Christmas because of my Facebook posts about Trump and his cult. So then I went even harder on mocking him and them and she lost it.
We're going down there (that means like a 2-hr drive) but the difficult aspect that reddit doesn't always acknowledge, is that he's generally a good dude. He'd literally go out of his way to help me. He means well, he's just oblivious to the BS he's supporting.
That's the big problem though, isn't it? He is good and kind to people he knows. He just can't extend that to everyone, because they may not "deserve" it.
Sure. But he could tell she was "one of the good ones". She was real because she was in front of him, but he's fine with people he doesn't know being hurt.
Somebody who'd help you change a spare tire while supporting people that actively attack large swathes of Americans and actively make life worse for everybody is not a good person.
I know exactly what you mean. One of my coworkers is very MAGA, although he keeps it to himself and I never broach the topic anyway, because it's fucking work. But, he's always been kind and generous to me, and it just baffles me how he can be so kind to everyone at work but very much supports this hateful pedophile.
I live in a small wannabe rural town where even the liberals don't know what they're talking about. Any political discussion is full of bs disnfo from either.
Good people all around, plenty of shit people too, but damn near everyone is whole-heartedly half-ignorant to what's going on. When I visit my well educated metropolitan liberal family, they're still days to weeks to months late on my chronically online info, and sure like to lord it over someone they assumed didn't hear about it already.
