I “towed” it a couple blocks behind my crown Vic with the power cord 😂 this one is also a Mitsubishi but 60” and has a lot of the same parts at my current 42” that I use. Fun project to disassemble later and LOTS of good parts inside!
Look up fresnal lense projects. There are two types that come in these TVs. Spot and lenticular. Spot lenses are the ones people use for melting rocks/metals.
Didn’t work, blue tube was completely burnt and I lost track of the amount of capacitors that popped when I plugged it in. Full of dust and debris. Flybacks were definitely gone and not worth saving. I have a 42” Mitsubishi rear projector already and was looking forward to to saving parts from this one but nothing is usable.
My 1st apartment had one of these. Ken & Margo were (are) nice people, clients of mine back in the day. One day I mentioned I was looking for a TV, Tim said come on over, I've got one for you in my garage. That thing was a bugger to move.
Thankfully I had a few strong paintball buddies who owed me a favor and before I knew it, it was up the flight of stairs into my apartment. In fact, I remember the morning of hurricane Katrina, My now ex was up and put on the news.
That darn TV lasted for years.
And I as well would have enjoyed seeing it towed by a Vic. :)
Use the screen to make a solar death ray
I've got one. Had two. The 4:3 ratio like pictured here worked better. Melts Copper
This is the way
Please point me in the direction of how 😅

King of random has a video about this (RIP grant)
Next time you tow a super old t v using its cable and your crown vic , you need to record that shit
And yes, I would love to see that also lmaoo
Man , i've scraped a lot of things , never one of those. Would love to tear one of those up one day.
Good times, the blue crt was bad and the others barely lit up so I already took it apart
I request a video of this escapade!
There’s so many fun lenses in those things.
There are I am keeping them all!
Can you make a hologram machine with these parts
If it works, just use it. I have a Sony that I play SNES on.

Ok. At this point. Save that lens. Seriously. Save. The. Lens.
I have all three!
Save it for me? Please don't throw it away.
Crow Vic is probably a great scrapper mobile for what it is, the truck is freaking HUGE! I miss mine all the time
I load her up all the time 😂 I had 7 ceiling fans in the trunk with an OTR microwave
“Good evening Nighthawks, we’ve been expecting you”
Anything in particular I need to know or to look for
The screws with the springs hold in the glycol, take the tubes out and remove them upside down over a bucket so you don’t make a mess

Scraped a Sony one of those. Lenses are stored in the barn and we use the rear plastic back piece to keep snow off the generator.
You can get decent money selling the first surface mirrors in those things. Ive got a lady that buys them from me and uses them to make kaleidoscopes.
