Did you even think this would be possible after the end of last season and the tragic start this season? I would have been ecstatic to have been not a bottom 3 team this season but here we are vying for a playoff spot. Insane.
They could bomb the rest of the way and I wouldn't care at this point - the team and fan culture took such a massive leap this year the Sharks were already playing with house money before the Pittsburgh game.
I had some cautious optimism given the moves in the summer. Like, basically everything had to go right, of about 4-6 long shots. But then seeing the first two games, even though they were disappointing, it was clear this team was substantially better.
I still watched that goals for/against like a hawk for a few weeks until it was clear they were not on pace for another -100. Lol.
Makes the games so much more interesting bc one bad week and you can go right back to the bottom. But it feels so good that we’re finally back in the hunt! Not sure if I’ll ever say the same thing about my New York jets tho 😂
The Pacific is extremely mid this year, the Sharks and Oilers are the only two teams at or above .500 (wins vs. regulation + OT/SO loses). Realistically we probably shouldn't be in the playoff race like this, but by the grace of Macklin Celebrini and all the other Pacific division teams deciding to kind of suck at the same time anything is possible.
It’s insane we are tied for second after that dreadful start to the season. Team never gave up and kept pushing and strong results followed. Also have to take into consideration this is the 4th youngest team in the NHL and have no premium defensemen, and a rookie goalie and the defense has made major improvements since that disastrous start. Truly very proud of this squad. Everyone deserves their flowers for such an awesome turnaround

Awesome we’re in the hunt but the Pacific is the worst division in Hockey. Have no problem taking advantage of it though.

Bruh have you seen the east? The point differential between first in the conference and 2nd wild card was within 5 one day after game results.
