It's not weird at all. A real hockey fan can be a homer up to a point, but when you are in the presence of something that's just above it all, you just pay your dues to the game itself, and acknowledge. I suppose it seemed weird, because we just don't see it very often, if ever.
Long-suffering Canucks fan here. I'm a BC boy, born and raised, so obviously I'm familiar with Celebrini and his game. I know Crosby likes his play. I know he made Team Canada. I know he's got skill.
Last night was the first Sharks game I've watched in awhile. I caught the 3rd. Macklin was a stud. Held the zone on a rolling puck, turned inward, broke some ankles and willed a goal into existence to tie the game in the dying minutes, then engineered the GWG in OT. Only 19 years old, what a beaut.
Safe to say I won't be watching Vancouver in the playoffs this year, guess I'll be rooting for you guys. Good luck.
I've been lurking here regularly and watching Sharks games whenever the schedule doesn't conflict with the Canucks ever since Will Smith got drafted cause I thought the name was kinda funny. It's always a nice change of scenery from all the chaos going on everyday in Vancouver to be honest.
On the contrary, I was at the game last night and all the kings fans around me were respectfully stunned at how good he is. I was cackling like a madman after the tying goal. There was genuine respect for the craft by the fans though.
Same totally get it. But damn. Right? So many memories. Fucking Gary Glitter…Glad they played Sharks version and not his version. I hate to admit, that R&R II his version is the sickest goal song still.
He looks like a promising prospect. There could be some potential here.

The Kings broadcast was super complementary of the “young kids.” They kept saying how good Macklin is throughout the game.
At one point one of the broadcasters apologized for talking about Celebrini too much but he said it was hard not too because of how he plays 🙌
I was getting the kings broadcast and they literally had him highlighted like the player in a video game. It was hilarious 😂
