It'll help for sure. He's moving from literally the worst team in the league onto a middle of the pack team. Finishing the season strong to move into the NCAA is the best thing for him. Confidence is huge in sports and nothing crushes that more than being on the worst team by a huge margin.
I hate CHL trades, those headlines make my heart skip a beat every time. Remember when Musty requested a trade from Sudberry last year and I almost fell to my knees seeing that update.
Oshawa lost all their best players. Last season they had something like 8 drafted NHL players on their roster, headlined by a trio of first round picks in Beckett Sennecke, Calum Ritchie, and Colby Barlow, and went all the way to the OHL finals. This year they had two drafted NHL players (until today) and the other was a 5th rounder.
Not only are they terrible but it seems like there is zero structure and Wang can do whatever he wants. Not learning what he needs to learn to be able to get a decent role at BU.
Nice to see him headed to a better spot. He's had great flashes and some big mistakes but just needs to keep getting coached up, and hes going to a better org for that.
Sweet better team, and more importantly, I might be able to go see him play. I wasn't gonna drive 5hr across the border to see Saginaw, and their away games didn't line-up for me. Now Niagara and their opponents are way more conveniently located. Hopefully I will get to go this month.
I almost bought tickets for Friday's Oshawa game in Kitchener, then decided I'd wait and purchase day of if the weather was good (it's a bit of a drive). Great decision, as that turned out.
I know d is a big need for us and the sharks took a big swing on wang and what he could potentially develop into. I hope he can develop as much as he needs to in the o. I do believe he will be moving to BU next year and that’s when i truly feel his development will take off. Now the forwards the sharks have in the prospect pool are great but I feel passing on Zharovsky is going to be big mistake. Hes not the same player as chernyshov Zharovsky is tearing up the K 29 pts as a 18 year old. Currently Zharovsky looks like at least a top 5 player in the draft right now the sharks could’ve had him at 33.
We were always gonna draft a D with one of those picks. I don't think it's fair to what-if about another Russian forward. Better to compare him to Fiddler or Henry Brz.
Should be good for his development and for us to see how he does on a better team?
I sure hope so because he has not looked good in the 4 games I’ve watched.
I feel like we won’t really get a sense of what level of player he will become until he’s at BU.
And he will likely be a long term BU player, at least 2 years is my guess.
I think the biggest markers will be is does he get bigger/stronger, does his defensive awareness improve, and his overall speed holds up.
If those can improve he will be fine.
Bigger??
Muscles more than height LOL, but an extra inch or two wouldn't hurt LOL
Hol up , my wife says this
Same with my wife's boyfriend too
Makes sense, he's super raw
Would be good to temper expectations. He hasn’t been playing hockey for very long

Little extra experience, playoff push for him maybe.
Then I believe 26/27 he's committed to BU?
Yessir, he'll be on Boston University for the 2026/27 season
Excellent news. Exactly the stepping stone needed before NCAA.
This is good, Oshawa is absolutely terrible this year for some reason. Good for Haoxi to play on a better team before heading to BU IMO.

This sounds like a haul? I don't follow the CHL, so I can't tell, but that seems like a haul for our "Little" buddy there.
Someone got traded yesterday for 10 picks and a player. It be like that in the CHL
Mfers be like, here, have our ENTIRE TEAM for that one guy. Wild behavior.
If Misa got sent back to Saginaw, I wonder what price he would command (as basically a rental for a few months).
72 virgins
Have you seen those virgins? There's good reasons why they're still virgins.
144
Twice as many gnarly virgins doesn't sweeten the deal.
Yep many of the trades are pretty insane.

I'm excited to watch him play.
Damn, that's cool. Last time I did a wang trade, I ended up smaller.
Memes aside, big move and vote of confidence in Haoxi.

When you want the Wang. No price is to high for the Wang
