Im an 18 year old teen looking for a first car. Im trying to find a sporty-ish car that i can offroad and turn into something crazy to look at. Like all those videos you see of offroad miatas and mustangs and stuff like that. Any suggestions? Would need to be almost like a budget build.
Find someone boring and reliable for your first car, then make the project your second car. You can’t afford to throw parts at a car if you can’t drive to work.
Depends on your budget and location. I grew up in a world where $500-1000 running beaters were everywhere. Now days with inflation, ain't nothing cheap enough to recommend for a first car. Anything where you are happy with engine and drivetrain our the box. platform with aftermarket support will save you a lot of money and downtime for repairs.
2002-2007 Imprezas come to mind. Being 18, I'd avoid the WRX unless you enjoy crazy insurance rates and buying premium fuel.
