Setup: Mega drive model: Pal b(W) 1600-03, using component cables into a AV switcher, which feeds into my Yamaha stereo, which converts to HDMI to my LCD LG tv - all other consoles on this switcher are problem free (Sega Master System, PS1, N64 etc). Using this composite cable, and the 3.5mm jack on front for audio, 9v, 2.0A power supply from the same website. Using a Mega Everdrive Core (using PAL ROMs, as well as NTSC ROMs, no difference)
Issue: Red channel is hyper saturated, other colours render fine. When too much red is on screen, this flickering effect is constant, but it seems as though only the red colour has issues (other colours on the same scan line seem to render correct colour above the red flicker).
Tried: swapping to a different switcher port, tried running the games forcing different regions via the Everdrive, tried using a knockoff everdrive, tried playing an official game.
Have you tried a different TV? I had a similar looking issue with my PS1 and and the color blue. I eventually realized that it was the TV that was the culprit and my PS1 was fine.

I would try a different cable attached to the Mega Drive.
Component is not a native output and is converted from either RGB or composite.
Do you have any other output cables?
Thanks
