It looks even better in person. It’s like it was stored in a hermetically sealed chamber since 91. I finally, after 30 years, got a copy and it’s even better than my original. Bravo, guy who sold this to the pawn shop who then put it on eBay. Even has the original EB receipt. I’m beyond stoked.
Also, level 16 decided it liked my ass and promptly kicked it and then handed it back to me.
March 9, 1991
I forgot about Electronics Boutique
And Babbages.
Now eb games
And software etc.!
That is crisp
It's just that this game is so crap that no one wanted to play it during all these years.
I love that game, what a beauty of a copy too. rougelike before it was cool
Finding retro games that minty feels like winning the lottery
I didn’t know that had a physical release I swear I read it was only on segas eshop. Glad to be wrong.
I had an original copy for years. Thanks to my ax I got rid of all my Genesis stuff and now I only have the Genesis pack on my PS4.
People here seem to love it, but it was widely considered one of the worst Genesis games when it came out and still has a bad reputation.
That is likely why it is mint.
Whoever owned it thought it was crap and never played it. Was probably planning to return it like they did with Double Dragon III shown on the receipt.
A person can play the crap out of games and still take care of them. As the original purchaser, my Genesis game collection looks like this. It feels very satisfying to have pristine copies. Especially after playing so much. Kudos to the person who took care of this copy.
I do find the receipt being in there amusing, as I often did that and I chuckle now when I find one. Not all are as readable as that one.
Returning Double Dragon 3 is understandable. With Fatal Labyrinth I wouldn't have understood it back then as opposed to now when I'd easily kill an hour playing it.
This was one of my most played Genesis games and I had all the hits. You know I just love this game.
Loved this game. Eventually beat it after borrowing from my friend but never had my own copy
Wtf thats crazy how new it looks! I thought maybe it was a homebrew or indie game at first glance
Wow. That receipt. 1991.
I was going to say probably a reproduction case and manual, but that receipt gives it’s a lot of provenance to being well kept and original. That receipt is the chef’s kiss 🤌… very cool to have that to go along with it.
Find a way to preserve that receipt in a protective case and display those awesome pieces together 🤘🤙
too bad modern receipts will fade after few months no matter what. they dont print receipts like they used to.
Ah yes 1991, my second favorite year after 1985. I miss the past
Old school roguelike fun!
Outstanding! I'm already playing the music in my head of the first few levels
This game handed me a loss so early as a kid. Never imagined making it to the final level and losing to the dragon😂
I collect Japanese Mega Drive games and the condition of their used consoles and games are on a different level to the point that it's actually uncommon to find them in what we would consider 'used'.
those square patterns look dog though.
Was this the game with the Medusa that would black out the areas you already explored?
Great game!
I love Fatal Labyrinth, but dang, $39.99?
That looks like it time travelled from 1990 to today. Wow that's beautiful. Fucking great game too!!
If you enjoy it, try out Dragon Crystal on the Game Gear.
I've got a complete copy like that too. Pretty fun game. The opening credit music is really good and I kinda wish it was the music that looped during the entire game lol
Wow most of the ink on my receipts even from the early 2000's are mostly just white paper now. That's a nice time capsule of a find.
I like how the receipt tells a little story. Evidently, the original owner didn't like Double Dragon III (can't say I blame them).
Plastic cases vs cardboard boxes.
I have seen plenty of really rough Genesis cases though 😅
I was wondering why folks got plastic cases to protect games that already have plastic cases. This might be worth it!
I scored this at a local second hand game shop. Such a fun game!
Since when you can trade at EB? Funcoland was the only place for that and maybe Blockbuster at a certain time.
