Do you think that low vagal tone could play a role in SCT?

  • That would make sense probably due to a higher prevelance in tounge ties

Ok what the heck I an also tongue tied, what is this connection and where can I find more data on it?

  • My guess is yes it could. I do feel like I have an overactive stress response which is related.

Does your overactive stress response show in high emotional states and stressing out visibly or more in: I am about to collapse and need to lie down?

  • i dont know, but it is a known fact that autistic women tend to have lower voices than NT women, and autistic men tend to higher pitched voices than NT men (due to not conforming to societal pressures)

I am not really familiar with what is behind autism. I would have thought low vagal tone shows in things like bloating, constipation, lack of gag reflex, fainting, diffuse anxiety, difficulties speaking up or lack of voice altogether.

  • I always feel like I am vibrating when I lie down and I get heart palpitations after eating. But I think that is because of my past addiction issues - it didn’t used to happen when I was in my teens.

Mine ist progressive and I more and more think that the gut plays a huge role. I don't have the usual gut issues but my gut immunity is not okay and tests have shown stasis and inflammation so might be that my enteric nervous system and brain are not communicating correctly. I also now (in mid-life) start having symptoms of ANS dysregulation (erratic blood pressure).
