Just curious if you guys tend to need a nap after 4-7 hours each day, to like recharge your brain and get it refreshed. If not, it becomes sluggish, etc. I wonder if thats a large symptom of CDS/SCT

  • Yes. For me SCT, ADHD and fatigue all seem to overlap. I believe it’s low neurotransmitter levels (dopamine/ norepinephrine). When I use stimulants to boost them it’s the only thing that reliably resolves the issues. I believe the root cause for me is genetic mutations (ie MTHFR) that keep these neurotransmitter levels low without stimulants. Sports, cold plunges, etc can help but it’s hit or miss and not practical before a big meeting, project, etc.

What stimulants do you use most often. I tried coffee and redbull. Used to be on ritalin, but my cardiologist stopped it because of my heart issues

5mg Adderall / 50mg caffeine a few times a day. I drink coffee but also have caffeine pills with l- theanine that work well. If I take too much will certainly get my heart going, but usually it’s fine.

  • Fatigue and being under-active and almost lethargic is a symptom of CDS/SCT. One of the reasons why it is often misdiagnosed as MDD which also comes with lethargy.

so what do you usually do when you start to feel fatigued and lethargic?

I rest (I am not working anymore as that became impossible at one point).

When you rest, is a nap necessary. Or is just chilling on the sofa enough for you

I need to lie down but not nap. Chilling is enough. Withdrawing from demands and going horizontal.

ahh okay, thats helpful. I think I waste too much of my life napping. I will try to see if lieing down works for me also. Im guessing less than an hour of lieing down is enough.

I have had good experience with NIR (red light). I lie down and put NIR on for 15 -30 minutes (usually on lower back or front) and I am still exhausted but somewhat able to face the day again after.

Interesting. Just searched up NIR devices, once I save up some money, I will try that. Thanks so much!

  • I have sleep apnea. If I don't sleep at night with my CPAP I tend to wake up groggy and need at least one to two naps. My sleep is still messed up but I don't need those naps anymore thanks to CPAP therapy. I also find 3-5g of glycine helps with sleep maintenance insomnia and 3g creatine for sustained energy throughout the day.

Thank you for that. I just ordered some creatine on amazon because of your comment to try.

But weirdly, I also have severe sleep apnea too. But still feel like I need to drain my brain with a nap

Is your Ahi below 1? if it's any higher that could explain why you need naps.

Oh my bad. Yes its like 60. I meant to say earlier that I use my cpap everyday though. So that should cancel it out, right?

That's a big number. You need to work with a sleep practitioner to help you reach an optimal AHI. Otherwise, you could get a memory card and insert it in your machine to track your data using SleepHQ or Oscar app and post your results in r/cpapsupport. A lot of knowledgeable folks out there that could help you optimize your machine settings. Good luck man.

Do you also have sct? What symptoms has it helped with specifically?

none to be honest but I can't see myself going to be without it . My symptoms become much worse if I decide to let go of it. However many reported their fog and mental symptoms disappeared after starting it.

So your mental fog and memory recall didn’t improve at all? So it just helped with energy levels?

Interesting. Do you worry that once you have to work full time, you cant do that anymore? im not working now myself, so thats what I worry about

  • Yeah. When I don't have caffeine
