I'm convinced within 5 years the true flex will be how slow somebody can run a marathon. Those will be considered the "elites" and get the shoe and apparel deals.
Remember, It doesn’t matter how slow you do it, only that you do it. My 93 year old greatgrandmother walked 200 meters last week, so she’s basically the same as Noah Lyles and Usain Bolt.
“Running a full marathon while staying mostly in Zone 2 with an average heart rate of 128 bpm and still holding a pace under 6:30/km is one of the hardest things a runner can achieve. It means running fast enough to be strong, yet controlled enough to keep the heart unbelievably calm, a combination very few runners in the world can maintain. Most people spike into higher zones within the first 10 to 15 km, and by 25 km their heart is fighting to keep up. But maintaining around 128 bpm for the majority of 42.2 km requires an engine at a different level, a deeply trained aerobic system, efficient form, perfect breathing, and a mental discipline that can silence every urge to push harder.
Running a sub-6:30 pace at this heart rate is not normal, it is mastery. It means your body has learned to flow instead of fight. Your breathing stays smooth, your heart stays quiet, and your mind stays present even as the distance challenges you. This kind of marathon turns into something almost spiritual, a moving meditation where every step is controlled, every kilometre is intentional, and the body and mind work in harmony. It is rare endurance, rare discipline, and rare calmness. A marathon like this is not just proof of fitness, it is proof of inner strength, patience, and years of consistent effort that built an engine capable of staying peaceful at a pace where most runners struggle to breathe. This is not just running, this is self-mastery over 42 kilometres.”
I genuinely couldn't finish reading that trash. I began strong, but my eyes began to glaze over. I then started to skip every second word before giving up completely.
I guess I need to teach my mind how to flow instead of fight.
Or, he could of just walked fast and his calves wouldn’t of even come close to exploding. Actually, I believe his wife’s boyfriend was his pacer and he was only walking briskly the entire marathon.
You’re right, if that was his Z2, amounting to any regular persons brisk walk then what would have been his Z1 exactly? A slow walk? A crawl? Walking backwards?
I did something similar for fun. Aimed for a sub 2 hour half marathon with a hr never exceeding 130. I was 200 yards short, but that summer was the most fun I've had with running ever.
As an Indian, I commend this sub for finding the most precious Indian running posts. Needed this inspiration for my half tomorrow 😂 Definitely gonna be in Zone 4-5 though.
Like guys who claim there should be a Clydesdale category all its own
Like you stepped out of the forehead of zeus with 29% body fat and a stomach full of tater tots and IPA
The fuck is wrong with people
found the dude that leaves zone 2 ^
Isn't this just the inverse (or at least a variation) of the "under 6 foot, over 215 lbs, Sub-58 100 meter in 2013" dude?
It's more like who has the loudest whisper
Average r/indianrunners
have some respect. he ran enough to de-odour the curry smell.
This is up there with the thread celebrating the barely under 7-hour ‘marathon’ the other day and defending it like it’s a lifetime achievement
It is a flex. The battery of my apple watch doesn’t last this long

Where do I follow your great-grandmother on insta? Is she on tiktok?
I'll flick you the MySpace page. It also has a link to her onlyfans.

*OnlyGrans
It’s already happening on YouTube and TikTok.
Finished 2 seconds before cutoff time is prime mental and physical toughness
This is actually harder than what Kipchoge did to break 2.
They should make a documentary about this guy
Stay extremely hard!
The whole post caption is pure gold:

Thanks, I hate it.

He definitely had ChatGPT write this. No human is capable of glazing themselves this hard
Getting chatGPT to jerk you off is something we’ll be seeing more and more of I fear
Pure poetry. He's got physical prowess of Kipchoge and the elegance of Shakespeare

z1 marathon hard not to die from boredom

Bro if your gonna do a marathon in THOSE shorts again, Ill find you, and youll regret it.
He had to borrow the shorts from his wife’s boyfriend since he wasn’t accustomed to wearing them, or to running in general prior to the marathon.
Make r/indianrunners Great Again!!
Fitting that the ads I get on that sub are immediately for EPO.
I mean how else do you run a marathon as quick as 4:24 and stay in Z2?!?
Yeah, running a 2h50m marathon in zone 2 is extremely hardy.
Especially barefoot!
Imagine how embarrassing it would be for you if THIS GUY was your wife’s boyfriend
Please don’t tell anyone!
It is extremely rare because no one wastes its time with this shiet.
/uj I forgot we weren’t in freedom units and I was like that actually is kinda impressive

Rare because stupidly useless. Many could, few are idiotic enough.
Uj/ I read this as 6:30/mi and was slightly impressed
Rj/ Holy shit slow down!
we all know 10k is particularly difficult to run in z2
Oh weawwy pwincess? Is that so? My heawtwate hits 128 when I think about wunning. That’s pwetty tough too.
Why are his pants talking?
Out his ass, clearly.
a marathon that took 128:00 hours to finish is pretty impressive
It means running.
wow, 10 minute miles at zone 2! Didn't think that was humanly possible.
/uj I don't think I can actually run that slow.
The slightly turned right leg with the calve flex is everything

Is this easier or harder than running 400m in 52 seconds at 203lbs in 2013? Unclear if this guy is twink weight or not.
Ban on Indian running content pls
Isn't their air quality absolutely shit? why are they running out doors?
Lmfao no joke I saw this just yesterday on Instagram & clicked it thinking I was on here
Ran it in a tea cosy. My kinda non British person.

His calves look like they’re ready to explode.
He completed a marathon, less than 1% do that
