Still can’t get over how she threw shade at Meghan only to end up banished to Meghan’s homeland. I’ll always side-eye this chick. And laugh at the karma of it all.

Bc Marie and Joachim did complain to the media about their kids losing their titles and the press and community (rightfully) called them out for being entitled and out of touch.
Yup, since then her kids were stripped of their royal titles and she has to live in the Americas. Occasionally invited back for big family events. But no princess fairy tail lifestyle. She lives like a diplomats wife. Nice, but not the glamours lifestyle she and her husband expected.
Her husband has been throwing fits about the move to America , his allowances, and his children’s title deduction. So, it’s best that other royals not throw shade when their own situation is a mess
They were effectively banished. He had nothing to do and no real skills. There aren’t enough royal events in Denmark to keep him and the king’s, at the time, Crown Prince’s family busy. So the government gave him these unofficial ambassador type of roles, same ones they gave Andrew in the UK, to keep him busy. But they intentionally sent him away. Neither he nor his wife wanted to be out of Denmark but the government and RF had to find something for him to do.
His wife didn’t marry a royal prince to end up in DC

Joachim's father AND Marie were/are French. Joachim went to Paris to complete the highest military training at École Militaire and has been working in D.C. since 2023.

In the interview Joachim and Marie both explicitly stated that they understood harry and meghan and that they supported their decision to leave. Marie's statement about "not complaining" was said in the context of how spare's are expected to just accept whatever decision that's enforced on them without complaining and being grateful. And she was at the time talking about how Margrethe had effectively banished her and her kids to France before the Washington D.C move ( this happned in 2019 before the entire Megxit happned)
The DailyMail and co just took the not complaining part as if she was dissing meghan and harry.
Oooh very interesting coz even with the other posters summary I didn’t get she wasn’t sympathetic, but mostly trying to say they (media) are aweful and won’t change. And Meghan would have to rework how she operates to get peace of mind.
Yeah I think the different interpretations has to do with the fact that the original interview was in french and that the English speaking media was really trying to drag other royals into the Meghan and harry drama. A lot of people just took the headlines at face value. But at no point in that interview was there a diss towards harry and Meghan. But Joachim and Marie did say that they understood Harry and Meghan's decision to step back from royal world.
This interview was before the spare book and even Oprah. And it was also before Margrethe humiliated his children and moved them out to D.C. It would be interesting to see what they'll say now if they give another interview.

She didnt say anything about meghan. Dailymail and co took her french interview out of context and used it to attack Meghan.
