The Place is legion. Can the a ronin's flower bloom on the shore of the crashing sea?

  • Reminds me of the sidebar about the Ronin at the Edge of Time from the times of The Button: "we are disorganized and free and we will fail, but we will fight until the last moment all the same: this is just what we do."

I have considered calling for aid from other clans we were allied with in the times of The Button, but then I though the struggle is part of the fun.

At the same time, consider that they, too, may long to lift their weapons once more against an impossible foe.

This "Connection" word we are battling now seems to have a lot of users behind it all of the sudden. Any idea where they are coming from?

The only thing keeping the lotus alive for the moment is they are fighting a battle on three fronts and they seem to be having trouble battling with the rainbow. Perhaps the lotus needs to ally with the rainbow...

They come from /r/2007scape, and they wish to form this image.

The Purple claims alliances with both the Face and the Rainbow, but has brokered no such peace with the people of the Words, seeing that doing so would cede much of the little space they have claimed. The Face was attacked by a wave of bots, and so they have been too busy reclaiming their space to honor their pact with the Purple. The Rainbow holds a vast domain, and must pick its battles wisely.

The Purples have a court in the land of Discord. If we can show them that there are ready blades to take back their land and adorn it with a purple crown, perhaps they will find the courage to throw the Words out.

Wow, I had no idea they were that ambitious. There is no way they will succeed, at least at their current level. They will have to push all the way past the N7 and the cat character to the east.

With any luck, they'll spend their strength trying to claim the eastern frontier.

  • Our blades will sever the Connection, it wavers even now. All connections are but a fleeting moment on the path.

Edit: My blade has parted the yellow checker. The upper left petal is glimpsed at 1,44. Do I strike alone?

    Troubles are endless
For one who holds many things,
    And not worth the prize.
But one thing, when held tightly,
    Is a far lighter burden.

  • The problem may simply be that the Purples cannot defend their space. I have been trying to draw the eye of the onrushing tide toward quarters more willing to push back, so that they waste their blows elsewhere while we blossom in secret.

The problem is that we are fighting against bots.

Perhaps so. But, did we not lift our blades against a foe far more relentless?

They are many, and they might triumph. But, we shall cut them a thousand times before the end.

Not the having of an ephemeral lotus, but the continuous making of the thing.

Should we wish to make another attempt, we need to strike together, not piecemeal.

For now, though, the void grows in the distant east and my blade longs for one last battle with meaning.

    Voids will wax and wan.

When the rat makes too much noise,

    It's nest is cleaned out.

    A pile of trash
Left to rot where no man lives,
    Does not stop stinking.

    ...true.

    What do you propose?

    We are masterless painters.

    We strike as one. Where?

    We are masterless,
    Lacking in order and form,
    With only our wills.
    I cannot command such things,
I merely strike where I choose.

(Edit: Personally, I've decided to defend the trans flag's border along the south edge. From what I can see, the void is unwilling to attack the rainbow, so if they can be hedged in along the bottom, they can't go far before they start hitting defended territory.)

    Yes. We strike as one,

For when striking, I am one.

    I just ask advice.
