Well who knows how it really was. I would blame Epic more, we know fairly well how greedy they are. Anyway, its been more than 2 years since i turned the game on huh? The day they removed trading, I swore to myself I would never play this game again, and so far I am doing exactly that.
I think that’s a bit extreme. I play the game cuz I enjoy it, the challenge it presents as well as the occasional people you meet along the way. The game is still good, there’s just no player trading. You obviously didn’t like the game that much
Yeah for sure man.. didnt like it, only had a little over 600h.. Not sure about you but once i see that the game i play is only about money for the devs and they dont care about their community at all i quit instantly. I dont play it cuz i chose to, i still think the game was very fun.
I used to trade and purchase wheels, idk it has been 2 years since ive purchased anything. I dont even bother to look at the blueprints. Blue print idea is fucken stupid.
I do wonder now 2 years removed if killing trading actually made them more money. I was never a big trader but I really stopped playing and certainly stopped spending money on the game since then.
They could have had it all and more if they made something similar to CSGO, who takes a cut on every trade made in the marketplace. Now they just made everything worth such a little amount of credits, that even if people are purchasing them I really dont think it would add up to more than what it could have been by taking cuts from high value trades constantly
Wow I had never even considered that. I haven’t seen the numbers but it’s hard to believe that wouldn’t be more profitable than throwing away a thriving game economy honestly. Sure people wouldn’t like a transaction fee but I’d happily pay it over not being able to trade at all
They probably make more money now simply off the fact that anything you want now has to come straight from Epic. $25 for a goal explosion is insane and idk how anyone actually pays money for that. It was different when that stuff actually had value. It was fun😭
i always wondered why ppl who quit the game over the change
~
you took so much effort to acquire certain things and now just makes that effort mean nothing
~
i tend to look at it as, yea it sucks, but it'd suck more to make the time spent before trading for items mean nothing
~
but i'm a design addict. designing was always my main thing
Stopped playing because originally to protest shitty business practices, then i just got out of it and never felt the need to come back. Maybe play it 3-4 times a year now if that
i always wondered why ppl who quit the game over the change
Refusal to associate with shitty companies that doesn't give a shit about you or the game. I grew up on this game, quite literally, only to see it ripped apart in front of my very eyes piece by piece. Pulling trading was the final straw, I've played maybe 5 nights since they removed it and i just don't enjoy it the way i used to.

It doesn't mean nothing, I disagree with you here to the highest of degrees, the memories are still there and will always be, that means more than any item ever. The sub is still here, an archive of absolute blasts from the past.
I am in the same boat as you my man, the thrill is gone. It is fun coming back here and seeing old names of guys I used to chat with weekly for years though.
You never know what you're missing until it's gone! Every few months I'll scroll the sub by top of all time, damn it hits like a brick. We truly had something great here
I still can't believe i didn't win your goddamned black jager auction 😂 It was just over my budget at the time for it, if i recall i think it literally went for like 2k over what i was willing
i think you are being liberal with use of term dead (unless you mean dead to you)

its too bad there isn't sales numbers that can be correlated.
i think their best time was selling 1200 credits for 5$ and fennecs traded for 1000. if they had only leaned into making trading safer and focus on selling credits.
Queuing used to take 5 seconds, and now I have to wait 20 or more. That feels like a steep decline in players.
Edit:
Also, look at the Esports. How the viewers dropped. While other Esports are achieving new heights.
I am not sure what those 300k players are, but it sure doesn't feel as active and engaging as it used to.
Been playing more RL lately after taking a step back for some time and was just looking through my inventory last night feeling very sad about the loss of trading.
Many incomplete sets that will never be finished and items I really wish I had a certain color of but never will. I wish at the end of trading when credits got dirt cheap I had just bought a ton of items to keep forever, but I wasn’t playing much at that time so I didn’t really care.
Now it just makes me sad that my inventory is basically frozen except for whatever junk accumulates from RP & drops. I won’t pay for their credits or shop prices, even if it’s something I really want. Fuck epic.
i saved up credits from trading and use it for stuff (like the x-men bundle and a few other things). so i dont buy creds from shop which is only way they make money now
~
and now as a xbox GPU member, i get free creds from them if play the rocket pass (they enroll you automatically so any creds you get from RP just are given)
If you are posting about wanting to do a trade, please be aware that as of December 5th 2023, Psyonix has removed trading.

Rocket League is dead at this point. They killed it slowly over the years. Baffling how you manage to do that.

It takes 2-4 mins on OCE servers now, up from <30 seconds when I stopped playing two years ago
I think thats just Epics shitty servers tbh
I gotta say man… the trading community has always been toxic lol. hate that they removed trading though
in general away from RLE, maybe. but this sub forum community was pretty amazing
Not wrong lmao I dealt with sum nasty attitudes when trading sometimes
cap, there’s been so many good memories trading. are there a lot of bad people yes but that’s everywhere even in the 2s games.
Games been dead to me for awhike
GGS moved on to cs2 and crypto :(

Honestly just moved to steal a brainrot 😭
Grow a Garden for me lol
I did try it out but never got into it compared to sab
Bro they took away the casual aspect of this game 💔
Pulled my current Zombas from a CC4 when they were out. Damn I miss trading lol
Right. Whenever I run a cool car load out I just think to myself "these kids dont know how many crates I opened to pull these crimson dracos"
RIP my sweet child
Rocket League just doesn’t slap the same as it did before it was bought out by epic, still fundamentally the same but it just feels cheaper
Stop playing this guy a bit ago now, Epic sucks...
Finished my Arcana set now I don’t even play
Miss this game
Wasn’t playing the game much at removal time and don’t think I have played more than a couple hours since
Epic games 🤝 people that stopped playing after trading was removed
Whoring RL out for profit
😖😖😖
I agree was where I spent most of my time
Fascist bastards. I continued playing but refuse to spend any credits or money.
Been playing for only four years
But I never traded a single item
I would always run away if anyone asked me to trade
and I felt it was all really overwhelming
Blueprints are super overwhelming and I can't imagine I would ever use one
I just use whatever is free or come with the passes I've completed
Trading was so much fun. It used to actually mean something when you had white zombas
