I'm old enough to have seen these when they were new, and frankly they were one of the best things on the road back then. Wanted one, couldn't afford one, and haven't seen one in a long time. Take care of that beast and you can drive it forever.
(But you might want to check that hood latch lest you suddenly can't see anything.)
Do your worst? Dude you already did your worst picking out that… thing. I assume you inherited this from your grandfather, since no one would willing buy that. Sorry for your loss
Great engine. I’d love that car as it’s so rare and will last forever. Hard to find these and if taken care of it can be a daily driver. The interiors probably don’t hold up well as the leather in those days was like cardboard. Nice find
When Bertone was tasked to make the 242 "speshul", they chopped the roof to make it cramped, and added a French V8 with its balls chopped off to make it less reliable while consuming more fuel.
Why you get that reliable of a car? your local accountant is crying right now because they couldn't give you a 200K loan that you will pay as 2.2 million dollars
That one time Volvo decided to outsource the power plant to a shitty French carmaker... but not make the chassis any lighter to compensate. Which means a Citroen 2CV would probably gap this thing easily even with the hamster wheel of a motor it had.
This is the car of a cocaine dealer that sells mostly baby laxative.
Does it have a stick, or do you pack a sandwich for merging?
Luckily it’s a 4sp+OD, but that sandwich sounds like a good idea 🤔

This is a terrible car. None of the practicality of a true brick and the reliability of a french motor, truly the worst of both worlds
Luckily the PRV V6 is looong gone! Nothing but pure Swedish red block powaahh! Definitely not practical though 🥲
I can tell you love when people ask “what is this car”
Oof, that one hit harder than it should
This is so ugly…..in a good way.
Put it back into the wall if you will.
It's rare for a reason
😂

It’s the only true option for my daily shame ritual/commute
There are kits for swapping V8’s
https://jagsthatrun.com/collections/volvo/volvo-200
Why would you waste the time and energy?
It’s actually a really really solid chassis. The suspension geometry is good.
I’ll stick to something from this decade
Cool optical illusion here. I seriously can’t tell where the front of the car is.
This car would've been absolutely awesome if it weren't for that shitass v6 co developed by Renault and Peugeot
So your saying it’s absolutely awesome?? (Previous owner swapped the v6 for a red block)
Yep! I'd kill for this so you better look over your shoulder
Enjoy the car though
Ha thanks man, will do!
so this is what it looks like when shit hits the fan near where your Volvo was parked?
The BCGs of cars.
Looks like a Chrysler K car fucked something from Trump Tower.

Thanks! Me too!
It’s sandshit brown and I bet it smells like cigarettes
If you don’t have something mean to say, don’t say anything at all.
You get ONE warning, then we ban.
Oh they were cool, certainly in silver or light metallic blue with a blue vynl Roof, chopped roof in there time I thought they looked fabulous
I also really liked it's replacement the 780 Bertone but that was only LHD, but a few have been converted to RHD in Australia & UK.
81 years old or made in 1981?
If the wheels were any smaller, they'd be casters.
Smart move parking it there so the aliens can abduct it.
OMG, a two door 240! Wow! You should thrift shop and period dress every time you drive her.
Go go action Volvo.
Powered by 4 D cell batteries. 0-60 in a day or two.
Very Odd Looking Vehicaily Object.
V8 swap could be the only way for redemption of your vehicle coolness.
Never seen one, so different, I would buy one
With that POS PRV V6 there's no chance of ever reaching 88 mph (IYKYK). 🤣
Almost pulled an attractive design. At least no one is going to think your stealing their girl.. beware if they can walk briskly they will catch it.
Ghosted.

☹️I just wanna share the love
So, uh, are you gonna buy those hentais?

Job's done here, boss.
