Hear me out. I'm wayyy better at using the crane vs the grabber claw and found it a lot easier to load logs onto the logging truck using the crane in certain situations

  • I like the grabber, it's not that bad in my opinion.

Now if you love the thought of giving yourself a rage induced aneurysm due to crane/grabber mechanics, might I suggest Farming Simulator?

I try every FS to enjoy logging and whatnot, this last one was the best of them all, and it was still awful.

Roadcraft thankfully seems to be so much better on crane controls. Eventually I got really really good with the Mule - 16 tires loaded in the back. You might think you could load more but look at how badly the back was squatting haha, the truck was definitely not designed to carry this much.

Getting them all to flip sideways to load 4 in a row was tricky but eventually got fast at it, especially by the end of doing this.

This is the Roadcraft equivalent of taking all the grocery bags inside the house in one trip

Which I HAVE to do every time I play this game. It's like a compulsion. Also groceries.

I was amazing on those games. But damn that grabber was an insane thing to try and control 😒

  • Nah, once you get used to it and use the grabber camera view it's really quick.

Also I looked how real log trucks loaded their logs and it kinda helped

  • I do the same, I can load them much quicker with the normal crane

  • The grabber is quicker, when you know how to operate it efficiently. I grab two at a time. Occasionally I can get 3.

  • After realising the frontloader is basically log loading easy mode I barely use anything else, it might take a bit more time to set up as it can't swiwel around but the ability to take like 5 logs at one time really pays off.

  • I totally agree. But if I'm cutting the logs I will load them a straight into the forwarder with the harvester. And when taking them out of inventory, I just park 3 forwarders in the loading area and usually they will auto load pretty well.
