Raids - Animals, traps, micromanagement
Storage - Only make what you’ll need, keep a pemmican stockpile. Also makes it easier to pack up and run if need be.
And that’s before VPsycastsE, a whole colony of psychic cavemen is awesome.
I think I have more tribal caravan runs than any other style of play. Very fun
The pila? The wind up is so long I always ignored it. If anything, I'd always early spam recurves and move to greatbows when I didn't want prisoners anymore. Is the pila actually good?
it does a surprising amount of damage and has the highest stagger stat in the game, which lets them stagger anything the size of (or smaller than) a moose
I'm guessing they're talking about Vanilla Factions Expanded Tribal. Before the culture technology which unlocks the research job and advances you from the animal tech level to neolithic, you have to use a ritual which gives research points on completion
I like tribal for the same reason, but with no way to update your researching stage (always neolitic or something like that), mid-end game investigations take EONS to complete.
Tribal start with a few forced traits to make life easier. Then I do nomadic precept and build everything from wood so it can be easily packed up. Very few structures per relocate.
I had a combined arms force through mods the highest tier war casket was my infantry like 4 of them. Tanks, IFVs, MLRS and aircraft i only had a killbox to delay enemies from running into me until i was ready.
every rimworld clip ever reminds me that every single player is indeed playing a different game because what the fuck do you mean why is supreme calamitas's theme playing while mechanoids are carpet bombed
I've been playing this game, with minimal modding, for over a decade and I've never even dreamed of seeing something like this. A fucking boss music button! Martial arts styles! I couldn't even take in everything.
I too find that a basic defense with vanilla gear and security doesnt hold up against THAT. I however find that 5 howitzers loaded with high explosives and EMPs tend to handle mechanoids nicely
Funny thing is, this is what mechanoid fights look like on other planets in the Rimworld universe, what with there being more people and infrastructure.
from a Medieval Rimworld player, we play very different games. this was insane to watch
I'm a tribal player.
You guys exist???
There’s dozens of us!
How do you guys deal with raids, storage, protection and other stuff, I can't imagine my game without at least medieval tech level

Usually the raids are proportional to my wealth. I like to think Randy never gives us more than we can handle, but I know it isn't true.
He may not always give you what you can handle, but he always gives you what you deserve.
I just turn down the difficulty scaler to like 30% and enjoy my fun little colony builder/farming simulator.
Giant battles like what OP posted make me want to quit the game, so I just decided to play a totally different game
I was wondering why i never saw any posts from Tribal. it's always the easy game mode being shown. 😂
i mean, tribal and industrial are the only vanilla tech levels and both have full mechanical support
being able to turn everyone into a max level psycaster is pretty fun
and the drum circle is vastly superior to the disco ball and music boxes
also some of the tribal weapons are pretty solid, like the pila
Is that like tribal only? I've done medieval but tribal only sounds wild.
I do however always do a tribal start. Crashlanded feels too easy with all the tech tree you start off with.
I like a stone age start with a mod that gives you "technologies" like fire, hunting and research to research. It's rough but rewarding.
How do you research research? What are its pre-reqs?
I'm guessing they're talking about Vanilla Factions Expanded Tribal. Before the culture technology which unlocks the research job and advances you from the animal tech level to neolithic, you have to use a ritual which gives research points on completion

Been a while since I played, but there was a mod for that for 1.5!
There are a couple of mods for that
VFE Tribals adds a ritual to upgrade your stage all the way to Spacer.
I like tribal but I dislike how every technology is double the research cost.
Tribal start with a few forced traits to make life easier. Then I do nomadic precept and build everything from wood so it can be easily packed up. Very few structures per relocate.
I'm a tribal player as well (still a noob but I'm starting to get the hang of it)
I usually play very evil
Guess there are mods and then there are MODS
100 mechanoids VS 0.1% of the US defense budget
You’re either highballing the cost of that bombing run or lowballing the US defense budge
Yes.
Apparently the currency that the rimworld ministry of defense spends is FPS.
They just struck frames on the rim, time to send democracy.
Your defense budget suggests that your colony does not have free healthcare xD
only organ replacement care is free due to oversupply
The things we do for our pawns...
Blessings of the free world! 🦅🦅🦅
five hundred hearts
I don’t know why, but this was just the right kind of fucked up laugh I needed this morning. Thanks.
Only thing missing is some tanks providing support for the infantry haha
I had a combined arms force through mods the highest tier war casket was my infantry like 4 of them. Tanks, IFVs, MLRS and aircraft i only had a killbox to delay enemies from running into me until i was ready.
Meanwhile I get killed by a nude hobo with a stick

I just lost a 40 hour colony to overwealth and a shitload of centipedes. NGL that hurt my feelings. I just wanted a nice place for my meeps.
May I introduce you to storyteller difficulty settings?
Nah. It’s personal now between me and Randy.
may i suggest a long spike hall, followed by a shotgun grinder?
When you see Randy, its on sight. That mfkr can catch your hands.
Holy ever loving fuck.
For the first 10 seconds or so I thought this was insane. I lost it when the fucking bombers flew by LOL
Edit: I don’t know why I’m an AI caption according to the two peeps?
lol and I'm pretty sure no AI without implicit prompting is going to open their msg with "holy ever loving fuck."
This reads like an ai caption to this video
This reads like an AI caption to this video
I didn’t say it’s AI; I’ve just read ai captions to clips that read just like yours. I didn’t really mean anything by it, just yappin on reddit
RIP your PC
at this point if he was to make a powerpoint of the battle we would get the same video
This isn't Rimworld anymore, this is Rim Wars

General Malcolm approves of your music and weaponry.
C&C Generals Mentioned! RAAAAAAAHHHHH!
Jesus, it seems we play very different games
I can feel the heat coming off your PC from here lol this rules.
Is this the prologue to The Forever Winter?
Aerocraft framework?
No, even though it's already available for 1.6 the planes shown here are from a different mod.
Bombing run : Celetech Arsenal Mk3
Strafing run : UF Heavy Industries
I need full modpack
Same. Please OP. Not even sure my computer can handle it but still.
Relatable, I'm playing on potato

Bring on the scaffolding!
Made in 'e U S of R! 😎
On the job!
I made an excellent wooden chair
Bro is playing command & conquer in RimWorld
every rimworld clip ever reminds me that every single player is indeed playing a different game because what the fuck do you mean why is supreme calamitas's theme playing while mechanoids are carpet bombed
C&C Rimworld
An Eagle never misses!
When your colony receives sponsorship from Lockheed Martin.
I've been playing this game, with minimal modding, for over a decade and I've never even dreamed of seeing something like this. A fucking boss music button! Martial arts styles! I couldn't even take in everything.
UNIT LOST
The Generals music hits hard.
Im watching on my phone. My pc is off. The pc fans just went into overdrive watching this out of sheer anxiety
The Command and Conquer Generals music was a nice surprise
They really coming after you. Did you steal the Epstein files or something?
Absolute cinema.
Ok, besides the C&C Generals USA sound track at the beginning, what other music was used?
Command and conquer:generals music 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
7800x3d is required at this point, I guess
mod list ?
In the modern world, great leaders resolve thier confilicts with words, words like...
People will say this is army propaganda.
My brother in Christ, it worked!
Triple the defense budget!
I love Supreme Commander
Please.. a mod list.. please..
I'm dying of thirst!
https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/s/uA7HRsgGtv
One of the best soundtrack ever also. CnC Generals
and with roughly the same amount of fps as the first time I heard that song..... it takes me back! :')
Yo this colony must be having a lot of oil, I mean gold to have called an attack like that..
This is the best slideshow i have ever seen, the command and conquer music makes it even better.
That poor fucking militor omg
Welp the bombers killed your cpu.
Fucking epic
This..... is technically beatable with only vanilla defenses, but you'll have to blow like 5 million gold worth of honor for aerodrone strikes.
The humble antigrain warhead:
HOLY MOLY XDDD
These poor Mech's couldnt stand a chance lmao
Isnt that like a waste of ordenance though? Who is your combat supplier, that wont be cheap!
And i think that some berserker pulses would be cheaper too!
Now imagine this with CE
You and I are playing very different games.
I'm not playing the game yet it appears. mother of God.
Wow I am more surprised your PC did not crash.
You could actually count the frame rate when that air support came in 😂
I have to keep my colony around 6 folk cause I play on a toaster. I'd prolly run this at .025 fps.
I too find that a basic defense with vanilla gear and security doesnt hold up against THAT. I however find that 5 howitzers loaded with high explosives and EMPs tend to handle mechanoids nicely
All those mechanoids.... so beautiful....
I am happy with my first jade table :D ngl
I've had actual real world nightmares where a mech cluster like this drops outside my colony. And the pause button won't work properly.
Knock knock. It's the United States.
That initial bombing run was the sexiest thing.
Funny thing is, this is what mechanoid fights look like on other planets in the Rimworld universe, what with there being more people and infrastructure.
Stupid mechanoid can't do air defense
