Former Seabrook police officer faces federal charge of 'receipt of child pornography'
A former Seabrook police officer is now facing federal charges in connection with a child sex abuse images investigation.John Giarrusso, 49, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of receipt of child pornography, according to officials. He made his first court appearance Thursday afternoon on the charge.Investigators said that between Oct. 16, 2024, and Oct. 17, 2024, Giarrusso "knowingly received video files depicting child sexual abuse on Kik." According to the Seabrook police chief, Giarrusso resigned form the department in March. News 9 reported in March that court documents alleged that Giarrusso exchanged explicit messages with individuals who said they were underage. He also allegedly bragged about his job, saying "...the girls in town call him Officer Sexy." MANCHESTER, N.H. —
A former Seabrook police officer is now facing federal charges in connection with a child sex abuse images investigation.
John Giarrusso, 49, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of receipt of child pornography, according to officials.
He made his first court appearance Thursday afternoon on the charge.
Investigators said that between Oct. 16, 2024, and Oct. 17, 2024, Giarrusso "knowingly received video files depicting child sexual abuse on Kik." According to officials, the victims in the videos appeared to be between about 5 and 11 years old.
