PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Multnomah County prosecutors say a Portland man randomly punched two people in consecutive months, with no apparent reason for either attack.

Sincere William Alexander Hunter, 19, was first arrested Dec 10 by Transit Police after an attack at the Parkrose Transit Center.

According to court documents, the alleged victim told police he was followed off of a TriMet bus by a man he didn't know.

He said the man, later identified as Hunter, confronted him and punched him in the face on the MAX platform.

CCTV footage obtained by police confirmed the man's account, and deputies then arrested Hunter nearby on Sandy Boulevard.

Hunter claimed he followed the man off the bus because of a comment he made.

The other man had swelling to his left eye and reported he had trouble opening and closing his eye due to pain.

Hunter was arraigned December 11 on charges of fourth-degree Assault, Harassment and Interfering with Public Transportation.

He has been in custody since that arrest, because he had three other warrants out for his arrest - one of which was tied to another assault.

On November 17, deputies responded to an assault call at the intersection of NE 82nd and Halsey.

According to court documents, a man told police he was standing on a TriMet train when an unknown man punched him in the face for no reason.

CCTV footage confirmed the account and showed the man with his back turned when he was punched. He fell onto a seat, and the suspect was seen running off.

The suspect, later identified as Hunter, was described as wearing a yellow beanie hat, black hoodie and red and black pajama pants.

Investigators sent out a flyer with the suspect's description, and the deputy who took the report on the December 10 assault recognized it as Hunter.

Hunter is due to be arraigned Friday morning on charges related to the November assault. He faces an additional fourth-degree Assault charge, as well as two more counts of Interfering with Public Transportation, according to court records.

Hunter has a third open criminal case, which stems from an incident near a children's birthday party back in August.

According to court documents, police responded August 24 to a report of a fight possibly involving a gun at Mill Park on SE 117th Avenue.

Prosecutors say Hunter attacked an 18-year-old man that he accused of stealing his uncle's bike, despite the man saying he had paperwork proving it was his.

The reported gun turned out to be a BB gun that fell out of the alleged victim's pocket.

Police say Hunter pretended to be asleep as they arrested him. They say a children's birthday party was taking place nearby at the park during the fight.

Hunter was arraigned on Robbery and Assault charges on August 25, and released to pretrial services. However, arrest warrants were issued two different times when he failed to show up to court, according to court records.

Hunter was also arrested on a criminal trespass charge in December 2024. Two different warrants were also issued in that case when he failed to appear for court dates.
