My two year old discovered them. Asked what they were, so I told her they were nipples and all mammals have them. That was a moment we now call nipplegate because now she asks everyone about their nipples, tells them her cat has nipples, she even put stickers on the reindeer for nipples and showed anyone who would look.
My younger brother experienced nipplegate by seeing the cat’s nips as a kid.
Alas, he thought they were buttons and asked my parents why the cat always wore the same clothes

Please contact your vet about getting your cat on a diet if you haven't already, it'll save him a lot of pain and give him a longer life, and you less vet bills.
My formerly obese cat got fatty liver, nearly died, and had to be tube fed for a month. Tube feeding a cat is something I would not wish on anyone. Keep dem cats a healthy weight please!!

Lol I have a void and do the same. Any time he's sitting upright his pouch just has bright spots where there's a nip. I poke them every time and I'm like "look at dat belly" he's not amused but tolerates it 😂

This is wonderful 😂 you did the right thing teaching your kiddo the correct word and treating it as normal. My daughter drew penises on all the people she drew until she was about 6 lol, and would go "and that's their hair, and that's their penis..."
