Its such an obvious trend that they dont want people to be able to discover for themselves what they want to see. They want to spoon-feed interests to users (which is unethical) and also add more insulation to the echo-chambers.
Give it ten years, i bet users wont effectively be able to post at all. Well, they'll be able to, but it'll be like facebook....you'll get 1 post from someone you know and 99 'suggested for you' irrelevant ads, basically. reddit will just be all posts from news outlets and brand names. CNN, Wendy's, Nvidia.
I'm witnessing this now on a Facebook market place where I live... I post an ad at 7am, someone else posts at 11am and their post gets all the attention - sometimes adding comments affects it, and sometimes even when posts are ordered 'recent first' a one day old post will still trump mine.
Everything is going to algorithms, and it won't be long before AI simply controls the whole shebang.
Facebook found that the users who watched the most ads were the least popular (homebodies), but that they would get off of facebook for a while if no one replied or reacted to their posts. So they stopped promoting popular peoples posts of what they are wearing to a cool event/party, and promote people complaining about ailments and generally being cringe. While it drives some users away, those users didnt watch many ads anyways, and with this formula, they make way more ad money off of the homebodies.
Facebook is also evil as fuck. If a teenage girl deletes a selfie, it triggers showing them more ads for cosmetics, on the assumption they have low self esteem.
No loss, it’s just pages and pages of “DAE THINK TRUMP IS HITLER!?!?!?” I mean, I don’t love him either, but do you need to make him your whole personality? I’m not American and I am beyond tired of it. If you don’t like the democratically elected president, pick better opponents next time. Someone who isn’t insane.
For what it's worth:
Reddit’s CEO says r/popular 'sucks,' and it’s going away
Which means "we can't use Facebook style automatic individualized echo chamber creating algorithms if you want to look at everything at once"
i wonder if r/Popular would still work as a link after they remove it

Every time I comment/remember the story of Aaron Swartz the mods delete everything, reddit is just so sold out… they can’t handle the truth!!!

Still in mine.
Mine changed overnight 😭
Mine disappeared and come back.
Same, mine was gone for a couple days but now is back. This is wild
My wife still has access to r/all with the old UI, but I don’t and was forced onto the new UI. Do you have r/all in the new or old UI?
I'm back on the old ui, the big annoying "find anything " is gone again.
Thank you. Hopefully that happens to me soon 😂 the new UI and lack of r/all is annoying.
Finally back to the old UI and r/all 😎 still holding up for you?
Sure is!
Yep mine disappeared this morning
Yeah, I had like 2 days of r/all back and it reverted to popular already, lol.
still works fine in Apollo.
How are you using Apollo?
by sideloading the .ipa and providing my own API credentials.
I wish my brain understood how to do this
Me too, I fucking loved Apollo 😭
Weird. I still have it
Yeah I just use the browser and it's still there.
I had it yesterday and now it's gone. I guess it updated
Edit: and now it's back?
This absolutely sucks. I only use reddit for r/all.... I need to know what's happening in the world :/
Wow I can’t even select the link (that I can see) via mobile
Same it just takes me to Home. This is ridiculous.
Same. This is terrible and I’m immensely disappointed.
Mine disappeared, but it seems like links to r/All (has to be a capital A) are still working for me, for now...
I can’t seem to click on this
Thanks, this work around is the only way I can actually see it.
Good man! (or woman!) ty for the functional link.
Commenting to come back
You can manually enter the "sub" name.
I can't. Just tried.
Can't even click a link to it. Just takes me to Home.
Let’s see, r/all
Not Clickable for me 🫠
Ayup, they killed it :/
Got to be capitalised r/All
Nope. Dead.
Works for me
Well crap. Probably because I’m on the official Reddit app. Also, love the user name.
Revanced, redditisfun
I miss RIF. Such a better app.
I think I should have walked away when that change happened. It just keeps getting worse.
That seems complicated
I still have “all” on all my apps.
Don't Update the app, it will still be there
They can easily filter content from their backend without update.
Never opened it, but at the same time I had to mute so many subs in my home feed now because of them injecting all that garbage there
Just came back
Are you on Android? Mine's still missing..
Yeah android
lmao it disappeared the other day and it just came back 🤣
And I'm here because it just disappeared for me for the first time 🤷♂️
r/all was the whole point of reddit. Without it this app is useless.
If I wanted a personalized feed of content I would have stayed on Facebook.
Still works on RedReader.
I pretty much hate the content on /r/all yet for some reason I'm still upset.
Has anyone found an alternative?
Only thing that still works is clicking on links to r/All
Yup. And the 'a' needs to be capitalized like you've done here.
Commenting since it's easier than looking up r/All
wild seeing it disappear like that, feels like every month another feature quietly gets trimmed away
Reddit keeps getting worse. Can’t access it from mobile anymore either.
So the enshitification has finally gotten here. It's fine, I've been spending too much time here, now it will be easy to stop.
I’m so triggered All was my tab the only thing I clicked my doom scrolling goto
/all is back for me on official Reddit app on iOS. It was gone for a few days.

Report back to Pooty, troll
Unless you are from Israel or Russia, Trump has been bad for your country too fyi
Yes clearly it’s the other guys fault and not trumps here
