Most of the popular billionaires just have a net worth in the billions. They don't actually have billions in spendable money. People with billions of spendable money in addition to their trillions in net worth are very secretive most likely due to the fact that they're in some way operating outside of the law.

  • “Billionaire” is anyone with net worth over 1B. Net worth is a relatively objective measure, though estimates of market valuation could vary dramatically for certain non publicly traded assets. “Spendable money” is totally subjective.

  • I know a couple families that are super wealthy and it’s generational wealth that has been built upon. I’m not going to say they are or are not billionaires per sé, but they stay under the radar in all regards. I think the people that really have it prefer to keep it under wraps. They give the appearance of doing well, but don’t stand out anymore than someone with a good paying job might.

    Billionaires live in homes that show they're billionaires. They will NEVER live in a regular neighborhood. They may have a cheaper car or 2 for the help, but that's about it. You're talking about a low millionaire.

    Having so much cash, if that’s what you mean, would be an incredibly bad financial decision. The type of bad decision that would not let you become a billionaire in the first place.

    This. Cash loses value. I'm a millionaire, but only have the minimum for emergencies on my bank account. Keeping cash or liquidity ain't that smart financially.
