You know how cats purr when they’re happy? Some rodents (and rabbits) brux their teeth together to make this grinding sound and it’s their way of purring. Rats have huge jaw muscles compared to their head size and when they happily grind their teeth together, it doesn’t leave much room for their eyes and they bulge out with the movement. So, in short, that rat is as happy as a rat can be.
One thing to note about purring and boggling though: Context is always key!
Sometimes ratties will boggle (the motion here), brux (grind their teeth), and even wag their tails not due to happiness, but due to factors like stress. Cat purrs are for the same reasons.
For ratties and catties, they express these whenever they are experiencing a very strong emotion overall, so overall, you wanna see exactly why they're doing it in the first place.
Like Fereth said though, this cute baby is bruxxing and boggling because she is the happiest little baby ever.
