I've worked a job like this and this could have been me honestly. I could be doing my entire job perfectly all day long, going beast mode on them fuckin' burgers like I'm fucking John SquarePants and my manager would still bitch about me not doing backflips and fartin out pixie dust.
I distinctly remember taking shit once because the single mother who ran the drive-thru grabbed the wrong order one time after I made it and when the manager blamed me I just didn't say shit even though I could see the order still on the counter.
Later on the manager found it and I got to tell you, I've never seen somebody talk to someone like that over something so small, you'd think she accidentally gave the motherfuckers arsenic-pissburgers.
It's partially due to how corporate always ass to mouth feeds the store managers the most toxic directives imaginable and then the other part is that these managers think they're a lot better than they actually are and believe they're going to get invited out of restaurant hell and up to corporate easytown any day now, even though we all know they're going to miscount some cash and get fired for it far before that happens.
Did they steal it? Who the fuck knows. Does it matter? No. They are uniquely hated by everybody, and the managers that are actually cool always get fired and replaced with someone with no morals because that's how you succeed in this business.
You can work your ass off all you want but you're just going to end up getting laid off by some fucker who looks like they work two days a year because they think your "work (ethic) isn't a great fit".
It's a taxing job but there is a reason they are low paying and require ZERO education. Bunch of teary eyed cry babies, get off your phone and finish order number 21 and drop the fries.
