Men dont see it as a problem because ”I personally wouldnt ever hurt a woman, I assume all other men agree with me, so this means women must be lying and overly dramatic and hating men for no reason!” And yet if you start to think logically, not emotionally, some of those men are lying. A lot of those men already have hurt women in various ways but they claim ”I never would”.
Most men who have even killed women dont think of themselves as murderers, because in general they dont believe in hurting women, that one time they just got drunk and got out of control and it was their anger issues not that they wanted to kill, or it was her fault for being annoying, for being too promiscuous, for wanting to leave him, for saying no to him… They didnt hurt women for the pure and sole purpose of joy of inflicting pain, it was for revenge, to teach a lesson, or because it was a mistake. They really think that doesnt count then. Men are fucking terrifying.
Domestic violence and spousal rape weren't even criminalized until a few decades ago. And men act like they should be rewarded and praised if they don't hit their wives.
How many women have stayed in bad relationships because "at least he doesn't hit me"? Male violence lowers the standards of what it takes to be considered a good man and all men benefit from that.
