I think it simply comes down to what stomach is digesting it. You can eat chocolate and fully digest it as a human but when you become a mosasaur if you eat chocolate or are still digesting chocolate your gonna have problems. The saving grace here is that even a fairly large portion of chocolate for a human would be pretty miniscule of a dose for a mosasaurus hoffmani
