Hi girls!
I will be 38 weeks tomorrow and I am beyond excited!
Is anyone else near the end of the pregnancy as well?
My due date is 24th of January — but we will see, he might come earlier 🥹
Are you preparing for it — I mean, the birthing ball and exercises, etc?
I have prepared nursery and hospital bag.
As per exercises, I am doing it when I can. 🫣 But still — I am walking quite a lot as I have gestational diabetes so I need to walk daily.
I am so happy and a bit nervous— I just wish everything to go well, especially with the little one 🥹🩵
40 weeks on Sunday and excitement has made way for impatience! Never been so hyper aware of my body, every little twinge has me on high alert 😂 I’m in the same boat with you on the exercises. Also have GD so I’m walking the legs off myself but as I’ve gotten more and more uncomfortable, I’ve definitely fallen off the other bits and pieces. I’m probably on the yoga ball about half an hour a day doing rotations and all, but it’s just so hard to gather the energy outside of the diabetes walks at this stage. I’m drinking the raspberry leaf tea, expressing colostrum (as much as I can anyway), curb walking, basically everything I can think to do to get this little guy out because I’m just dying to meet him!
That is so exciting! 🥹
Mine is already dropped so much so I think he will come before.
I didn’t do colostrum harvest yet unfortunately— mainly because of hs (hidradenitis suppurativa) — the skin condition with nasty flare-ups 😔I have already mentioned the condition before, and as it is on the breast right now — I’d rather not to risk some infection as you need to massage the area, etc.
But it is what it is — in my head I kinda was prepared that I might go with formula.
I mean — maybe I’ll be able to breastfeed anyway but don’t think so at the moment.
For me it is getting harder and harder to walk now — but I am trying, mainly to stay active and because of GD as well.
Can’t wait to meet him and to stop with sugar monitoring as my diabetic nurse told me that the monitoring stops once you are in labour.
Of course, I’ll eat the same because it will need to be checked out 6-8 weeks after birth.
The walks are so hard now! All the joints in the lower half of my body are complaining 😂
I’m not getting much from the harvesting which seems to be common enough, so I wouldn’t worry too much about doing it. I’m more doing it because it’s supposed to trigger more oxytocin and I’m just throwing everything at the wall to get him going. I got a sweep on Monday but nothing moving, that’s also apparently common for first time mams. It was a bit sore but worth the chance imo just in case you’re weighing up whether to do it or not.
I'm 38 weeks and 5 days. So excited and nervous 🥰, just doing what exercises I can but not putting much pressure on myself. They've offered to do a sweep on me on Tuesday but haven't made my mind up about yet.
Oh, really??
They didn’t offer me anything at the moment but I suppose I’ll have convo this Tuesday about it.
My little one is always head down and I have another scan on Monday to see how big my baby is — because of gestational diabetes.
So we will see but looks like I’ll go vaginal at the moment.
I’m due the 23rd so only one day ahead of you. Honestly I’m doing my best to just chill out now. I think we have everything we need, hospital bag is packed. I’m sure there will be some late night Amazon orders once baby arrives but that’s ok.
Oh I am the same, also we are so so excited!
I am trying to take it easy and be patient but I just can’t wait to meet him 🥹
I’m 40+4 so I’m rather impatient now 🙈
As someone out the other side I would prepare yourself that you could go to 41 weeks. I was 100% convinced that id go early with the count down to the due date. Then when I went over I was so unbelievably frustrated. Plus the constant texts from friends and family is head wrecking. Hopefully you will go early and get to cuddle your new bestie before you know it. But do prepare it could be an extra week!
I am not so sure about waiting until 41 weeks as I do have GD — gestational diabetes, so I don’t think they will want to wait until 41 weeks and they would probably decide to induce me if I don’t go before it or in time.
At least that’s what diabetic nurse and midwife told me — they don’t want girls with GD to go overdue. I really don’t know if it is like that in every hospital, but mine mentioned they wouldn’t like me to go overdue although I am only diet managed GD.
I also have additional scan tomorrow — to see how big my baby is. I am pretty positive if he is a bit bigger, that they will probably recommend c-section as it is my first baby as well. His belly was measuring a bit bigger so it is possible.
