Does Scott Adams believe in the whole Medbeds bullshit?
If not what does he expect Trump to do? Offer to have him drink bleach or stick a UV light through the ass? You know, the awesome wisdom Trump gave to combat COVID?
There's an experimental drug that he wants to try but is having trouble getting it scheduled with his insurance (they've already approved it, they just haven't scheduled it) so he wants Trump to take care of that for him.
Scott wrote a blog post entitled “I had some spare time this morning, so I thought I’d solve the North Korean nuclear crisis”. It wasn’t satire. He wasn’t kidding.
OMG Scott Adams is an idiot. He doesn't see the consequences of what might come. He doesn't understand that many South Koreans under 40 don't want to unify with North Korea. He doesn't realize that even if they signed such a treaty, China and Russia would not seriously go to the defense of South Korea if North Korea attacked.
"At the end of a hundred years, North Korea and South Korea agree to unify under one rule. No other details on how that happens will be in the agreement. North Korea will be free to tell its people that the Kim dynasty negotiated to be the rulers of the unified country in a hundred years. South Korea will be free to announce that unification is a goal with no details attached. We will all be dead in 100 years, so we can agree to anything today. (That’s the key to making this work – all players will be dead before the end of it.)"
Yeah, that logic is awesome. Look how well it's worked out for peace in the Middle East
I remember my dad and his buddies always had the simple answers to the world's complex problems. Each solution began with "all they have to do is..." Amazingly, they never passed these solutions on to the president because they knew they were just blowing smoke.
You intentionally cropped the tweet to make it sound like he was asking Trump specifically to cure his cancer instead of showing the full context, which was him asking Trump to put some pressure on his insurance company (only a slightly less insane thing to ask of the leader of the free world).
It's actually not that crazy. Trump called him when he announced his diagnosis, and told him directly to ask for help if he ran into red tape. Both Trump Junior and RFK Junior called Adams when they saw the tweet, and told him Trump was working on it.
Today he announced that he is starting the study he was having trouble getting cleared for.
Its not even the insurance company, it's a scheduling issue at the HMO. If I was a receptionist there I would probably not bother going to work tomorrow.
I hate when someone posts anything with the date cut off. Post the whole tweet or don’t post at all.
ETA I posted a comment on the main post which simply said “post the whole tweet without cropping” and I’m getting downvoted. Guys, please. We don’t need to crop or exaggerate or misrepresent anything. Don’t fall into that trap. Post their entire tweets/remarks/speeches etc. I promise you they suck enough that we don’t need to alter anything to make them look bad.
I just Googled his net worth, and it is estimated at $20M. Why does he need an insurance company that has denied him treatment? Regular folks who have been denied cancer treatment by their insurance company, or who do not have insurance, will die. Sad, but true. But Adams can use his $20M to pay for his own treatment out of pocket, if he has to. Even if it substantially reduces that $20M. Wouldn’t you?
What am I missing here? Scott Adams has more than enough money to afford the best medical care on the planet, whether it’s the Mayo Clinic in the US, or some fancy private clinic in Switzerland. He can get access to experimental drugs and therapies, and hire experts as his personal, private doctors. So what does he expect Trump to do? Does he think Trump is some all powerful deity or something? And if Trump had superpowers, or at least access to secret government medical cures, wouldn’t Trump be using them on his own problems, like the hand bruising, and swollen ankles? Seriously, has Adams always been such a whack job, or has the cancer metastasized to his brain?
Trump called him when he announced his diagnosis, and told him directly to ask for help if he ran into red tape. He did run into roadblocks on the experimental drug treatment that he's supposed to be able to start.
Both Trump Jr and RFK Jr called Adams when they saw the tweet, and told him Trump was working on it.
Today he announced that he is starting the study he was having trouble getting cleared for.
If he was having trouble getting cleared for the study, it probably means he does not fit the criteria for it. But hey, he’s a rich and connected Republican, so to the head of the line he goes! Which means some deserving but “unimportant” person gets bumped off the list to make room for Scottie. Some things never change.
So a bunch of assumptions on your part then, followed by whining about fairness.
Some of you just love playing the victim, even when somebody else is literally dying. 😂
It wasn't that he was trying to get into an existing study, the drug is not officially ready for a study yet, but they are cutting some red tape to get it fast tracked.
On a sidenote, he's not the only one that could potentially benefit.
Insurance? He's very wealthy. He doesn't need to be saved by an evil insurance company. He can just get treatment and pay for it. That's truly ridiculous. I thought he wanted to get in a particular treatment that he had difficulty getting in.
He's announcing that he is asking to hold court with the King on Monday via the Internet? I wasn't aware Trump grants wishes on Mondays. What an odd fucking post.
LOL it's not even that hes complaining that his HMO (kaiser) rescheduled his infusion from Monday to a later and wants trump to call the office and schedule it back to Monday! WTF? I mean everyone and I mean everyone deals with shit like this every day. Everyone should start tweeting slight inconeniences at the current administration like it's a customer service representative. My dinner reservation got switched around! My package didn't arrive! Wal-mart wouldn't take my coupon!
Let’s not forget that he got to stage 4 by ignoring medical advice to treat his very treatable cancer. Instead he promoted using ivermectin and other nonsense. Encouraging others to do so as well.
Now he only recently admitted that it didn’t do anything but make him worse.
(And I say this as somebody who think Scott is an arrogant moron who holds idiotic beliefs.)
He kept going to his normal cancer doctor but also sought out alternative treatments, and because that didn’t work he’s reaching out to Trump for some reason.
I haven’t seen anything suggesting he was seeking normal treatment until later this year when he stated the ivermectin didn’t work. Although it is certainly possible he was I guess.
He is asking Trump to help him get his insurance to move up his infusion date or something like that. Seems odd if he was seeking real treatment this whole time that he would just now be starting infusions and having issues navigating the system.
I say that as someone who has been dealing with similar stuff (via my husband) the last two years. Once we are this far in we are VERY good at navigating the insurance and various systems. Never once needed to beg Biden for help. lol
The same exact thing they were giving Biden shit for after announcing his diagnosis. Saying how could it possibly have progressed to this level if he was getting the proper care? But they’ll indulge this.
Also Scott Adams is much younger. He is in the age range that he would/should have been getting screening. Biden was past that point by a lot of they didn’t catch it as fast. If he was younger they likely would have.
He was relatively sane at the beginning, but he seems to have been radicalized in some way. I bought the books and read the column for 7 years. Then, some stories began surfacing about his inclinations toward and support for right-wing extremism.
These days, I don't read Dilbert at all. I haven't bought a Dilbert book this century. He lost a loyal customer. His art was very much in favor of the office drone, techs, and workers who make America work, but his politics are those of the PHB. He isn't Dilbert, Scott Adams is the Pointy Haired Boss (PHB).
Same. I'm not really in the target audience for Dilbert but it was funny to me when I first entered the workforce, and I found one of his early humor books at a yard sale and it was amusing. I figured he would be a typical white liberal because the bent of Dilbert was always a pro-worker, a little subversive, and kind of inclusive (Alice the ultra-smart woman engineer, Asok the mistreated and sympathetically characterized Indian-American intern, etc).
When I found out about his political "thoughts", pre-Trump, it was a little disturbingly eccentric and egomaniacal at first. Then came the Trump era and he showed his insanity to the world very openly. I still find the old, pre-crazy comic strips funny but I wouldn't give him a dime ever again.
Agreed. Scott Adams is a rightwing extremist. His work seems liberal because he wrote the truth into his comics. Do you remember that the truth has a leftwing basis? I believe that's what this demonstrates.
I loved the Dilbert TV series, too (it's where I learned Asok is pronounced A-shook.) I was a white collar worker, too, except for those jobs I was not. IOW, I'm the target demographic.
At some point recently the Dilbert show became publicly available (the creators lost their IP rights or something?) so it was uploaded legally to YouTube. Some of the humor was a bit dated but honestly I found it funny and still kinda relevant to today.
I think this
His work seems liberal because he wrote the truth into his comics. Do you remember that the truth has a leftwing basis? I believe that's what this demonstrates.
is the key. And probably why the moment he truly moved outside of his "zone of expertise" aka satirizing the white collar / workplace environment, he showed his true and ugly colors.
What made me appreciate early Dilbert was, despite having only 1-2 white collar jobs in my entire life, a lot of the corporate satire carries smoothly on to blue collar, retail and trade work as well. I am a nerd despite my occupations and some of my hobbies not pointing stereotypically to "nerd". And as a leftist the worker-focused satire rang true (plus I have a woman engineer in my extended family who resembled Alice quite a bit, lol).
They always seem so surprised when we refuse to vote for them, vote with our feet and find other options, including boycotts.
So tired of living under an abusive, tantrum-throwing toddler who bulldozed our White House in a tantrum because of No Kings Day getting more participants than both his inaugurations put together, including the birthday parade he snored through.
"It's just politics", they shout lamely. Because to them it is just politics / a game (until the welfare tap turns off for white straight conservative people, lol). Whereas for the rest of us, our lives, safety and fundamental rights are put into the category of "politics", to say nothing of the same as far as it applies to labor and the working classes (environmental, labor, safety regulations, product safety regs, etc).
They think it's all a game- at their best- and at their worst love the fact that it's hurting people in real life.
And they wonder why people see racism/sexism/queerphobia/whatever as reasons to remove said person from their lives, when those things are actual threats to their rights and well-being.
Like all other creatives who completely miss the central moral(s) of their work (cough, JK Rowling, cough) it's usually either massive narcissistic ego, incredibly narrow thinking (ie they can see the specific thing they created and nothing else) or a combination of both.
With Adams, I think it's that he narrowly focused on his genre of workplace satire (where he was basically a lib) for a long time, and had massive blinders on to everything outside of that. Then turned into a narcissistic rage monster via MAGA like a lot of other people when "the woke left" called him a name once or whatever.
We regret to inform you that if you are not important enough to be invited to the tremendous Great Gatsby Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago, you are certainly not worthy of the President interfering in your health care provider’s decision making process. We recommend you make the best of your final days by pulling yourself up by the bootstraps, consuming plenty of fluids, and watching copious amounts of Fox News. Your insurance company doesn’t want to spend any more time and money than they need to only to prolong the inevitable, and neither do we.
If he says anything other than “Mr. President, restore the funding and staffing of what was the best public health system in the world to save my, and everyone else’s lives”, it means he’s got brain metastasis.
Adams spent Trump's first term making disgusting comments, degrading many people. Sorry if I'm not moved by his terminal cancer. Sorry, Scott. Like you said, the government can't be giving people handouts and helping them in their time of need. You'll just have to pick up your cancer by your bootstraps and eat a healthy diet. You've got nobody to blame except yourself.
I remember during the height of his Dilbert fame in the mid 90s that stated that he was a libertarian and actually agreed with outsourcing and layoffs, so he wrote Dilbert differently than how most people read it (it would be like watching Office Space and then finding out the screenwriter wrote it with the intention of making Lumbugh the hero)
Scott Adams is another misguided entitled rich who feels deserving of jumping the line because of his political connections, And a banned racist person from many publications.
I read all of Adams non fiction books before he went full Trump. He has openly believed in manifestation for decades. He never considered his success a sign of his intelligence, rather he believed it was a result of being indefatigable and resourceful, trying new and weird things, taking swings and never giving up.
It isn't much of a leap into magical thinking once you become unbelievably rich as a result of all that.
I dont wish any hardship on Mr Adams, but what kind of world are we going to live in where medical care is doled out as a political favor? Who is making phone calls for every other man out there with end stage prostate cancer? We are all in this insurance boat together and we really need to start acting like it.
Does Scott Adams believe in the whole Medbeds bullshit?
If not what does he expect Trump to do? Offer to have him drink bleach or stick a UV light through the ass? You know, the awesome wisdom Trump gave to combat COVID?
He probably does. He has been off the deep end a while
Taxpayer funded treatment at Walter Reed?
There's a video about his descent into madness - it wouldn't surprise me if he did believe in that.
He really should have stuck to writing funny office comics.
Edit: here it is: https://youtu.be/FKTTuLFI0Ag?si=3hCELW-Qq44mRFMG
oh, turns out he’s been crazy adjacent all along!
Behind the Bastards podcast did an excellent pair of episodes about Scott Adams. Truly unhinged.
There's an experimental drug that he wants to try but is having trouble getting it scheduled with his insurance (they've already approved it, they just haven't scheduled it) so he wants Trump to take care of that for him.
Apparently RFK got the message and is on it 🙄
He got it

Scott wrote a blog post entitled “I had some spare time this morning, so I thought I’d solve the North Korean nuclear crisis”. It wasn’t satire. He wasn’t kidding.
That’s the level of delusion of Scott Adams.
Do you have a link to it? I always enjoy reading too smart for the world idiots oversimplifying the workings of the world

The link is dead, I guess he killed his own blog
Wayback still has a copy: https://web.archive.org/web/20200809062617/https://www.scottadamssays.com/2017/07/05/solving-the-north-korea-situation/

Yeah, that logic is awesome. Look how well it's worked out for peace in the Middle East
So the plan is to just... pretend that the problem is solved?
And lie and leave it to the next generation. Pretty much on par for conservatives
So technically, from his perspective all problems will be solved irrevocably if he dies. Because other people don't exist.
All conservatives believe they are the center of the universe
It IS the MAGA way. Only, for this particular situation, they didn’t CREATE the problem first.
This easily tops the list as one of the funniest things I’ve read this year. Holy shit.
The Wayback Machine is a jewel.
It's as important a trove of contemporary information as the illustrated manuscript was in its day.
Should anyone feel like throwing a couple of dollars its way, you'd be helping to preserve history.
Jesus fuck, that was painfully stupid.
It had cancer. (I'm sorry. Fuck cancer.)
I remember my dad and his buddies always had the simple answers to the world's complex problems. Each solution began with "all they have to do is..." Amazingly, they never passed these solutions on to the president because they knew they were just blowing smoke.
All because of his shitty drew carry lookin ass comic book character.
Edit: comic strip. Apologies to comic books everywhere.
Comic strip character. Don't belittle comic books like that.
Oh shit my bad.
You mean the guy who canceled all the cancer research funding so he could have a parade and a new ballroom. .... That guy????
Just another insane MAGA cultist.
You'd think somebody who did observational satirical humor for a living would have an ounce of self-awareness.
You intentionally cropped the tweet to make it sound like he was asking Trump specifically to cure his cancer instead of showing the full context, which was him asking Trump to put some pressure on his insurance company (only a slightly less insane thing to ask of the leader of the free world).
Remember folks, you are not immune to propaganda.
I assumed that that was the point he was making, which is still weirdly insane a demand to ask of thr POTUS.
[deleted]
Uh, no. I'm saying that I read that and thought, oh, he either thinks Trump is going to call his insurance or he is magic. Either way is nuts.
There's no satire, the man is crazy.
It's actually not that crazy. Trump called him when he announced his diagnosis, and told him directly to ask for help if he ran into red tape. Both Trump Junior and RFK Junior called Adams when they saw the tweet, and told him Trump was working on it.

Yup. In that case, Charles Darwin for the win!
Might not be a money thing anymore, he could just be terminally ill and getting desperate.

Maybe he just wants to see if Trump loves him back. Nope!
Maybe he is posturing to be first in line for a medbed.
Trump called him when he announced his diagnosis, and told him directly to ask for help if he ran into red tape. He did run into roadblocks on the experimental drug treatment that he's supposed to be able to start.

gotta keep the echo chamber in check
Did you say something? Sorry, this is an echo chamber, any other view isn't actually said here, so your comment is just blank.
Welp, may he rest in peace. Sincerely a biomedical scientist. 👩🔬
He's announcing that he is asking to hold court with the King on Monday via the Internet? I wasn't aware Trump grants wishes on Mondays. What an odd fucking post.
Sending oh nos and anyways.

I don’t think that’s actually the case.

Sorry, Scott. You're in the same boat with the rest of us. The only difference is that we can see the holes.
Scott Adams has metastasized prostate cancer? Scott Adams IS metastasized prostate cancer...
Don’t slander metastatic prostate cancer like that,
What a fucking knob
He'a fucking loon! Read "Political views" on his wiki page.
Scott Adams' politics are why I stopped reading Dilbert.
His comic stopped being funny a looooooong time ago.
He was still funny when I stopped reading them, but that was 25+ years ago.
I knew zero about him until today. My god!
Yeah I remember reading Dilbert. I had a professor that would show the class a comic on occasion. It's very surprising.

I am a nerd despite my occupations and some of my hobbies not pointing stereotypically to "nerd". And as a leftist the worker-focused satire rang true (plus I have a woman engineer in my extended family who resembled Alice quite a bit, lol).
Yes, I agree.
However, I have no intention of giving Adams any of my time, attention, or money ever again.
He wrote it so real. I had a PHB, too.
Would you believe that I had a PHB while working in a "skilled trade"?
I did. Jargon, cluelessness, useless meetings and all. The difference was he was all-around balding, otherwise he even looked a little like the PHB.
Same as far as never giving Adams a penny (or attention) ever again.

Conservative family members do this all the time.
Yes, I'm aware.
It's strange that he created that world to make observations but is completely devoid of the points he was making.
Maybe he pretends he's someone else when he writes them. 😂
Good luck. Trump laughed when Biden announced he had cancer. Also, Brainworm thinks cancer screening is woke and cut all the research funding
Truly, this is what you voted for.
He’s gone off the deep end for quite a while now. Sad, i liked dilbert way back when
Just this morning I woke up and thought: Morning amnesia, nature’s way of keeping you from waking up screaming.
Like they said to the other MAGA idiot... "You voted for this."
So cancer got scott adams huh?
So he’ll die like he lived.
As a fucking moron.
A pain in the ass
Dear Mr. Adams,
We regret to inform you that if you are not important enough to be invited to the tremendous Great Gatsby Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago, you are certainly not worthy of the President interfering in your health care provider’s decision making process. We recommend you make the best of your final days by pulling yourself up by the bootstraps, consuming plenty of fluids, and watching copious amounts of Fox News. Your insurance company doesn’t want to spend any more time and money than they need to only to prolong the inevitable, and neither do we.
Thank you for supporting Dear Leader!
The Regime
I wouldn't want Trump sticking his finger up my ass. But to each his own.
Will there be a cartoon about this?
Why not now? Is X closed on weekends?
If he says anything other than “Mr. President, restore the funding and staffing of what was the best public health system in the world to save my, and everyone else’s lives”, it means he’s got brain metastasis.
Oy
I'll see you that "oy" and raise you a "vey" because every day is bringing worse and weirder stuff.
Waiting for the MAGA faithful to start praying to the golden orange idol to heal them directly.
Well…sending Scott thoughts and prayers. Good luck to you, buddy.
But Rump himself is very obviously d*ing…how does he think that’ll go?
Amazing that a delusional guy with a huge ego will continue, after all these years, to worship another delusional guy with a huge ego.
It worked... possibly. Guess it helps to be one of the priests of the cult :P

What gets me, is this close to the end and he still behaves like an asshole
The creator of the pointy haired boss worships the ultimate pointy haired boss.
he is basically Santa i guess
Interesting... We don't need doctors anymore to help us through our ailments... We need Trump because... he emboldens your racist views.
...and enter the Finding Out phase.
Trump would not get out of his chair to save Scott Adams' life.
It worked, RFK junior reached out to him and he’s getting whatever scheduled
Well done cancer, well done.
If only Trump hadn't cut funding to NIH, NCI, NSF, etc.
Trump will wave his tiny hands over him and he’ll be healed praise Temu Hitler.
I hope the cancer recovers from this terrible disease.
Oh thank gods, it’s been too damn long.
Thoughts and prayers, lmfao
I pray that the world doesn't have to deal with Scott Adams and his bullshit for long....
It’s so sad. He had a cool and interesting cartoon, but wasn’t a good person at all. So sexist and racist.
Damn, fuck what a rabbit hole researching this guy is.
Why did you crop the tweet? Post the whole thing or don’t post at all.
