This might hurt some people’s feelings, but Generation 6 is probably my least favorite generation. When I did my random number generator to see which generation I would do, I was given Generation 6 despite my hopes of rolling something else 🫡
In spite of this, it was a decently fun run. Heliolisk is my favorite electric type despite belonging to Kalos, which helped my morale!
- “Bush Beast,” the Pangoro
Ability: Fur Coat
Pretty beefy dude. Hit hard, took hard hits really well. He was on my team since the first route.
- “Hardee’s,” the shiny Xerneas
Ability: Aftermath
Typical Xerneas Geomancy sweeps on otherwise difficult fights. Named “Hardee’s” because I shiny hunted him and encountered him while having breakfast at Hardee’s.
- “Prancie,” the Diancie
Ability: Shell Armor
Was pretty easy to avoid crits when I couldn’t be hit by them. A very nice defensive tank.
- “Spoofy,” the Heliolisk
Ability: Cloud Nine
This Pokémon was crucial in getting through weather routes. Turning off that weather was a lifesaver. Ironically, his actual in-game abilities all have to do with either Sun, Rain, or Sandstorm, so to have a randomized ability that eliminates the effects of weather entirely was super cool! Also Boomburst goes so damn hard.
- “Stinky,” the Noivern
Ability: Unaware
Perfect revenge killer for a boosted Pokémon. Hits super fast and doesn’t care how many attack boosts the opponent has.
- “Boggart,” the Trevenant
Ability: Multiscale
I think the single best use for this guy was to tank a hit from a Pokémon that the rest of my team could not handle, lay out a Destiny Bond, then proceed to die to the next hit due to the ability having been nullified. Super useful.
