We're wondering if we can install a water softener here. Our water softener is like this.
Would we be able to put water softener's drain line into that pipe on the right?

Drain for washer
Washer outside?
Must have a sun roof over it? What you'd normally see behind a washing machine.
Nah looks roughly dick height. Its for peeing probably
If you’re on a septic system dont attach your water softener discharge to your house sewer. That is forbidden where I am for good reason. The salt brine will kill the bacteria that keeps your septic alive.
Great advice, but wrong reasoning lol. I’ve never seen water softeners cause an issue with killing bacteria. The main problem it usually causes is related to water usage. The septic systems are designed to treat up to a certain amount of water per day and water softeners tend to push households over that limit. It overloads the septic and allows untreated water to move into the pump chamber or leach field.
There are ways to work around this problem though and we have a lot of houses with water softeners that never have problems with the septic. It’s definitely something that people have to think about more often though so thanks for bringing it up.
It’s fun when you’re having to worry about the DEQ, and they have a septic. I usually just ask the inspector what they want, bc both answers are wrong.
They want a drywell here. Some towns want the health dept to tell you where.
This is incorrect

It works by binding calcium and other minerals and metals to media beads in the conditioner than the brine well or saltwater is used to rinse the media beads then dispenses the wastewater into a drain. I already tried to reply a yt video that can explain it but I guess that’s not allowed. But I would look it up on yt for a better explanation.
Some people like the feel of non calcified water streaming down their butt crack, don’t want scale buildup on their fixtures or especially their glass shower door. It’s more preference over practicality. IMO only.
I assume that was the original purpose. That pipe most likely goes into your main stack
Washing machine
It looks like a drain for a washer
Probably washing machine drain
Whole house bong
Yes, that should work.
The outside laundry facility? Lol
Out side maybe a old ringer washer set up so they could dump water and get water with out a mess
That's a laundry hook up,
That was already a filter or softener system of some kind you can tell by the 2 new copper fittings where they had to connect the inlet and the outlet.
Washer drainage and hook ups
Outdoor laundry
That's a drunk urinal. When you get hammered and have to stay outside because the boss is mad.
That is the infamous auto suck 1000
Just a tip, though the rest doesn’t fit
It’s for a washing machine. It’s the drain for a washing machine right next to it is the two hot and cold and that is the drain for a washing machine.
But you’re gonna need the raise that draining up otherwise your washing machine will never fill up
I’ve seen this when I go to homes to install water softeners. It looks like it’s a loop above the spigots, and the pipe is for the softener to discharge its water at night down that pipe.
Looks like a damn vent
Not with p-trap
