Now that the end of daylight savings time is rapidly approaching on November 2nd; we’re starting to see more and more event announcements, so I wanted to give everyone a quick update.
The night hikes should be kicking off again by November, and in the past they’ve been hosted about twice a month. You can expect them to occur on a weekday starting at sunset, and they wrap up at a reasonable time so people can comfortably get to work in the morning without messing up their sleep schedules too badly. The instagram account that previously announced them @pgh_night_hike is no longer active, but I’m told there will be a new one created soon so stay tuned for that. In the meantime I’ll make sure that all announcements are getting posted to Reddit so you guys are aware.
I look forward to seeing some of you this season. Please feel free to post events and share this subreddit to people you think could make use of it. There’s a lot of cool things going on in the area and I’m not privy to everything, so I always appreciate it when somebody can relay the message here.

Hoping to make it out this year!
We would love to see some new faces!
I plan to drive down that way to meet up. I am still looking for a consistent and reliable place to shoot at night in western PA my sportsman club's not a fan of me shooting on the range after dark.
For a shoot when you want range I recommend Beaver Valley Rifle Pistol Club. You’d have to email membership@bvrpc.org if you don't know any members. Mark is the head of membership over there and it’s a really good facility/culture.
Washington County Machine Guns is also good, and the owner is on reddit, but they close at 10pm so it’s less than ideal for night shoots in the summertime. But if you like machine guns and other NFA stuff like destructive devices then they’re great for that.
There are various other ranges that host night shoots or night matches throughout the season as well, but that’s only like a once a month type of deal.

What about Ben Franklin Range Or Southington Hunt Club ? I think there is IG group that shoots a lot a night
I will check it out. Thank you man I appreciate it
Yall can see the N lights that far south??
Not usually, but due to weird astrophysics stuff last year and this year we can. They usually don’t show up to the naked eye but can be detected through NODS or phone cameras.
