  • I should note that it’s a weekend long event so your ticket will allow you into some other events on Sunday as well.

Also, I messed up his username but rentals are from u/Sendnods_com

  • Awesome! What a great price!

    Wish I could attend.

We’re blessed with having a fair amount of affordable options in the area for night shoots. The Rosedale monthly shoots over Fall/Winter are only $20 for non-members!

That’s great for people like me whose night vision related purchases have put them below the poverty line haha.

  • Just got my first pair of NODS 2 weeks ago but haven't had the chance to research and find a helmet or mount yet. Maybe I'll get on that today and see if I can find something use on GAFS and have them express ship it

If you can’t make this one don’t stress about it, there will be better opportunities down the line.

If you want some friends to hike with the just make a post. Happy to meet up and share the hobby.

  • Do you need a can to shoot after sunset?

Nah not at all. I would recommend at least using a flash hider though.

Most events generally don’t have rules about that. Cans are nice and it saves everyone’s hearing + reduces the flash, but they’re also expensive and IMO there is no point in being exclusive in an already expensive hobby. Just don’t be that guy with a brake concussing everyone on the range and auto-gating tubes/blinding everyone because the powder in your ammo makes fireballs at night.

Hell yeah this is what i wanted to hear! Thank you.At the ECNS only pistol caliber can be without a can. This is good news to me even if it is only an hour or so. Thank you

No problem, we’d love to have you. There are a lot more events going on in Fall/Winter too. We have 2-4 different night vision related events a month during the peak season some of which are cheaper, better, and way closer to Pittsburgh than this, but this is the only one I know of happening in the near future (unless someone wants to go on a hike with me that is).

I knew that about ECNS and I understand where they’re coming from and it has the benefit of encouraging more people to buy suppressors, but I don’t agree with it because I think that the financial barrier to this hobby is already to high.

It's a restriction put in place by the range to be a little neighborly

Ah okay, are there any houses nearby?

That makes sense, but it has the side effect of not allowing non-suppressor owners to fully enjoy the event, which I think is lame. After all it’s only one weekend a year.

I know many who own nods but no suppressor who would be put in an awkward situation because of this policy. Not that ECNS necessarily needs more attendees anyway, but it is something to think about.

  • Yeah. Just outside the gate. The gate is on a rural, but residential road.
