Hey guys, long time lurker short time poster here.
I know that there are a few germans on this sub and I wanted to discuss the state of piracy in Germany. As you all know, getting English or Russian content is trivial and free (as it should be). You simply pick your favourite public tracker and voila - there you go. No cent spent whatsoever.
However I have not come upon a single public German tracker at all yet. It's either private trackers, which good luck on getting into, or paid filehosting for direct download.
Now, I get that hosting files on a server costs money, fair enough.
I also don't want to talk about being a cheapskate or something like that who can't spare 30€ a year for a filehoster, but c'mon, y'all know exactly why we're here to begin with.
So how come, that in 2025, every single German source of pirated media is behind some sort of paywall? Torrents are frowned upon in Germany, nothing new here, but everyone I know so far has a VPN for that.
Maybe I am missing out on something, perhaps Usenet (which is also paid?) OR the German scene builds upon revenue they get from referrals for said filehosters?
Update:
Went with Usenet.. Worth every penny. Don't bother with torrents or looking for sites to download free shit if you're German. A proper provider and indexer should cost you no more than 40€/yr
I am also from Germany and I mostly use Usenet. Yes, it costs a bit, but you are not dependent on people seeding, and you can even download niche stuff that was uploaded 15 years ago without any problems. It is extremely fast, and you can get everything dubbed in German. In my opinion, the money is well spent. The majority of German users are too paranoid about torrents, so a private tracker would be your best option, but it’s very hard to get into one.
Okay you convinced me to buy access right now due to the fact that there's stuff as old as 15 years available :p
I hope it's 20€ well spent... I went with newshosting and scenenzbs
Good choices
Getting oder stuff was a big plus for me. :D with ddl most stuff gets Deleted after a couple years, usenet uploads stay available muuuuch longer. Look into the arr suite if you have not already its a great addition.
Do you need to worry for virus? Thank you
So far no worries. Common sense as to not running *.mkv.exe files is a prerequisite in any case though. But I think the indexers do check for malicious files aswell, I haven't come across any yet.
which usenet and which indexer are you using?
Eweka + scenenzbs works flawless for me
I use Eweka and Scenenzb as well, they work great for me too.
Eweka + house-of-usenet. Got everything I needed there.
Im very new to this and im asking for a friend do i need to use vpn ? Also can it be downloaded or only streamed , are there 4k remuxs in german?
No need for vpn. Its Download and 4k remux in german is no problem, its the best source for german content i ever used from eBooks, games, movies and so on.
Okay so i bought both now and if i cklick on nzbs on search on the top right for example and klick on the filter german movies it says no matching search found 😅what am i doing wrong
Do you search on scenenzbs.com? You have to select the filter “Movies - DE,” then type the movie title into the search bar and click search. You should get plenty of results. Here is the guide I used, it might help you.

usenet is pretty good for german content - i see a ton of it on there but i wouldn’t know the extent of it since i don’t need it.
Another vote for Usenet. I see almost as much German content as I do English content.
usenet ftw
Netter Versuch, Herr Anwalt. /s
there are german streaming sites with german audio and/or subs and a very good up-to-date selection ...
Yeah, I have a setup on my home lab that allows me to bulk download from them using "sdl"..
Quality is kind of bad though, best I got there was 720p with 1.5Mbps bitrate :|
Sorry, (old) noob here.
Let's say i have stremio with torbox debrid pro, which has usenet built in. What would i have to do to find german dubbed high qulity content? Does anyone know of some kind of tutorial or can anyone point an old man in the right direction? Thank you.
Mir hat dieser Post sehr geholfen: https://www.reddit.com/user/Appropriate-Cap2166/comments/1ovkm8r/torbox_pro_usenet_guide_for_stremio_and_german/
Dont know about the combo of stremio and usenet but here is a generel usenet guide:

There are quite a few German content PT going - usually you need to wait until well only a few more weeks because most PTs open their doors during Xmas for a small amount of time - you'll need to pay attention to the correct subreddits to be notified when it happens.
How to find those correct subreddits or PTs?
which usenet and which indexer are you using?
Newshosting and Scenenzbs
Years ago, IRC and XDCC were a pleasant thing. It's fast and free. A quick search tells me that it still exists and that there are convenient search engines.
Go subtitles, you'll get accustomed fast (I took a couple of weeks after spending DECADES with dubs) and it improves your english and you hear other languages too.
The worthwhile german orginal soundtrack movies and series are on international trackers too or on mediathek (ARTE etc.)
Otherwise yeah usenet is the cheapest solution.
I’m from Germany and use torbox as my debris service, no VPN or anything needed and very fast

can recommend RHD for a beginner, read the rules tho, and dont do anything illegal

Why bother, most German content is shit anyways. The stuff that isn't is on usenet.
