Capitalism today confuses value creation with fuedal rent seeking. They mean thw value they created for shareholders by charging you more for basically the wxact same thing
You don’t get the extra OneDrive storage, but the O365 versions of Office apps are enhanced compared to their regular O19, O21, O24 releases and contain exclusive features.
I couldn’t find an exact list but for example what I was missing from a regular PowerPoint is the Design Ideas feature which I always thought it is built in to all versions, but it is 365 exclusive.
Someone also pointed out below that regular Excel versions also miss out on some currency/stocks update features.
im pretty sure you can just get it like google workspace. single users work too... just type in your email and it asks you to make a new microsoft work or school account iirc. its in the payment flow itself.
I stopped paying for 365 back in April, the applications all told me that I was on a grace period for a few months then just stopped warning me altogether - but everything still works. Not sure if I'm just still on some extended grace or what but I'm enjoying how lax their subscription requirement is after the fact.
Capoutalisme
1. you put your money in investment wallets ( make your money working for you )
2. Buisness fraud you the double in other way
3. You get 10% of money back for a shiti fuck services, people want return on investment and enshtification everything.
So if you cancel the recurring sub, you are presented with the usual "are you sure" stuff, but do it a couple of times and an option appears where you can select to renew all your services (family OneDrives, Office, etc) but without AI. This costs £79.99.
why sub in the first place? just use alternatives , libre office was solid imo on windows , there are non- one drive cloud alternatives. with their forcing ai down into everything i've switch to linux and been much happier honestly and since the 'outlook' website changed over i've stopped using the hotmail acc i've had since i was a teen as welll
Just in time for my homelab. Started this project a few months ago, I would've stopped my subscription with 365 family but my nextcloud storage is still lacking so I extended it for another year. Next year for sure I'll be unsubscribing and I'll migrate from onedrive to self-hosted nextcloud.
"to reflect the value we've added over the past decade barely even changed (if not made worse), we're increasing the price of your subscription that used to be a one time purchase, no need to thank us", there fixed it.
You can choose to not accept and unsubscribe and it offers you the 79.99 version without the copilot added ai "benefits".
Only comes up as an option if you select unsubscribe.
i would pay more to remove generative AI from most tech services
That’s the long game they’re playing
Hahaha
Australian Government sued Microsoft over this.
Pure comedy
Capitalism today confuses value creation with fuedal rent seeking. They mean thw value they created for shareholders by charging you more for basically the wxact same thing
Office isn't functionally different than it was 15 years ago. They gotta be joking.
arent access and publisher new? also its for AI stuffs which is new. also excel feels much better compared to 15 years ago icl
Just use massgrave then
Massgrave works for a 365 subscription that includes the onedrive storage?
You don’t get the extra OneDrive storage, but the O365 versions of Office apps are enhanced compared to their regular O19, O21, O24 releases and contain exclusive features.
Damn why I get downvoted, I wasn't being sarcastic, I really wanted to know lol.
What enhanced features? Have a link that shows?
I used it for Windows 11 Pro upgrade, would love to get the cloud storage free since I use it a lot

Ohh ok. Thank you for sharing.
Except, you do. 1TB per person, up to 6TB in total.

get a business basic sub. 1tb cloud storage for 4.67 usd/month monthly.
How does a regular user get that?
im pretty sure you can just get it like google workspace. single users work too... just type in your email and it asks you to make a new microsoft work or school account iirc. its in the payment flow itself.
microsoft(.)com/en-sg/microsoft-365/business/no-teams-plans-and-pricing
build a NAS
Needs a backup NAS offsite, total cost will require about 10 years to pay itself off. Is it worth it?
I really need to stop being lazy and do this. The setup is so confusing to me though.
just get it over with, sounds like a scam anyway
They’re fucking with you. They got in trouble for doing this in Australia…
https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/microsoft-in-court-for-allegedly-misleading-millions-of-australians-over-microsoft-365-subscriptions
I always love the no action on your part is needed.
Oh I’ll be taking action 🤣 unsubscribing from your shit
Right? Screw these guys, I ain't paid for a subscription service and never will, they can keep raising the cost all they want, trashy mfers
Banks should be made to reject charges that you have not approved, including changing previously approved ammounts.
See, the 'software as a subscription' model must fucking die
Massgrave
"No action is needed" actually yes the action to unsubscribe and never look back is needed.
*£25
Massgrave and get those free
Libreoffice
In other words:
"We built yet another AI data centre and need additional funding to make line go up. Keep paying us for programs you can crack in 20 minutes"
crack in 15s you mean.

Either you're activated with Massgrave or you had licensing due to school/work account or your device came with a perpetual license.
None of that. Legit license, personal account, windows 10 pro license activated in 2021 on a PC I built in 2015.
Somewhere in your subscription management should be hidden an option to continue without Copilot. I had the option.
Yep same here.
Though I opted for massgrave in the end.
I just use OpenOffice.
i dont get it, even if you did want to buy it and have a legal copy,
a office 2021 key is 12 bucks https://www.gamers-outlet.net/es/microsoft-office-2021-professional-plus-iso
Massgrave is free...
and gives you the o365 version which is better
Subscriptions for software are theft, it’s an immoral business structure. There’s always a version of the office suite online if you can sail
its probably for AI so just unsubscribe immediately
That's Microsoft's way of saying fuck you very much.
Yeah I got the same, told them to shove it.
Yo ho yo ho
Oh have a heart. How else are they going to pay for the AI bullshit integration that you didn't ask for or want? It's expensive!
£30 is 40 USD? What's the exchange rate I forgot
Yeah, 40$ give or take
That's fucked man. Why are corpos rawdogging us with no lube???
Not enough people are willing to vote with their wallets
Because you let them.

The student one went from $2.99 to $4.99 a month... I want to get rid of it but I have a bunch of stuff on OneDrive.
a hard drive/ssd will cost less in the long run
yes but its more hassle for a lot of people. sometimes cloud is just better for things... a NAS on the other hand though
that works too
But they say inflation is low...

MASSGRAVE
...7.5 per person! that's 30 pounds extra for a family of 4!
"to reflect the value we've
added over the past decadebarely even changed (if not made worse), we're increasing the price of your subscription that used to be a one time purchase, no need to thank us", there fixed it.They did this in Australia and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is suing Microsoft over it.
it should be illegal for them to raise price on existing subscription without the customer explicitly opting in, instead of having to opt out
They can’t afford their AI data centers. In reality they’re generating no new value for themselves.
Lol 25% increase of cost
They sure need cash for AI
It's not pirating but Libreoffice is worth every penny. I think I paid about £10 and it's mine forever.
Libreoffice is free. If you paid for it, you got scammed
Just buy a cheap key from 3rd party retailers and never look back.
Just pirate it for free and never look back
TBH, nowadays I can't trust any activator etc. For a few bucks it's not worth the hustle.
Dudee, Massgrave
Why are you on r/piracy if you're not here to discuss or learn about piracy?
I trust the sites on the megathread far more than I trust any gray market dealer, with their history of involvement in credit card theft
