• Visor is in shambles rn

Visor losing their respect and credibility overnight lol

Do they even have one in the first place? lol clout chaser lang naman mga yan, calling themselves journalists pero hindi marunong mag fact check.

More clicks more $$$ lang mga yan.

Kaya walang credibility ang Visor kasi for engagement lang talaga sila.

lmao yung post nila about "gaslighting"

    anong sinabi nila

They are insisting they are not Anti-JD and not pro-LTO.

Yep. Unfollowed them after this fiasco.

  • The bigger win is it's now working days!

  • This is the point of Deakin's rant.

I don’t know why people are mad at James Deakin. At least he's rocking the boat and challenging the status quo. Tignan mo, lahat tayo ngayon makikinabang sa ginawa niya.

Some guy went at me and even posted their own post (image quoting a lawyer ata) how LTO is right and that the shit process is by design... All because they really hate James Deakin (which is correct thing to do, but turning off your brain just to smite the guy is dumb).

Like what is wrong with it being working days???

Ayun, their account now went poof but I have their insult at me saved haha.

I just cant process how people will just defend shitty processes, it's already 2026 jusko.

    Extreme partisan thinking.

They see shtty practices as a deterrent. Parang "don't do the crime if you don't want to do the time" and they'll brand you as kamote if you don't agree with them.

The problem with this is it is not a deterrent. It just incentivizes corruption as many will just bribe the enforcer instead so as to not be cited for violation/ticket or just do the fixer route to settle if given a ticket.

Exactly.

Nah, man. The point of Deakin's rant was he wanted to wiggle out of the consequences of his own actions. This was just a point of argument he wanted to focus on because it's the only chance he had of being somewhat redeemed for being an idiot.

Ewan ko lang ha pero based on his posts, he went through the process. Admit their lapses especially his son's kaya nagka-violation. They settled whatever fine imposed to them.the right way. They've done their part properly kahit sa bulok sa sistema ng LTO. Since settled properly ang kanilang unang concern, the next concern should be given focus which is the processing days system, etc.

He went through the process on a goddamned Saturday. Ok lang ba sya?

Mukhang okay naman siya kasi he checked if the office is open on a Saturday and yes, they were open that day. They were even told to come back on the 5th which is already beyond the 15-day period to settle everything. May problema ka pa ba?

Ok, unang una, based on his posts, he was not admitting to their lapses. In the same breath, sinabi nya na tinatanggap daw nila yung mali nila pero ico-contest daw. Ano yun? Kasalanan naman talaga nila yung ginawa ng anak nya and it shouldn't even be a point na para bang napaka-benevolent nila for admitting to breaking the law.

Pangalawa, who the fuck goes to a government office on a Saturday and literally the last working day of the year?

They deserved getting the book thrown at them.

Nagegets mo ba? Or masaya ka lang na that some "poor, average citizen" stuck it to the big man (government)?

Ok, una, sinabi naman na they will deal with the violation accordingly. He even consulted a lawyer about his matter and told na hindi siya nanghihingi ng "padrino" whatsoever. But they didn't. Paid the fines, accepted the consequences. For him, it was a case closed already.

Pangalawa, hindi ibig sabihin na Saturday and last working day ng taon ay hindi na pwedeng magpunta sa opisina para ayusin o i-settle ang anumang violation. LTO's vision states:“A frontline government agency showcasing fast and efficient public service for a progressive land transport sector.” may nakasulat ba riyan na wag kang pupunta kapag last working day ng taon at sabado dahil who the fuck you are to do so?

In the context of people treating him like he's benevolent for allegedly just questioning LTO efficiency, hindi pwedeng pupunta ka sa social media claiming na tinanggap mo mali mo while questioning it's validity.

Totoo naman walang OR/CR yung sasakyan ah. Totoo naman napakalaking violating yung ginawa nung anak ah.

Pangalawa, mali akong Saturday ang last working day. It was a Friday, 26. Walang government office na open ng sabado. They literally went on a freaking saturday and expected something to happen. Not only did they not plan for a contingency, they failed to meet the minimum expected of every citizen.

Common sense yun.

And, no. Hindi ako kuntento. Majority of our streets are overrun with illegal vehicles and drivers, and are the cause of numerous deaths and destruction of property.

I don't care kung makasuhan man ang sinuman sa kanila, they have the capacity to do their thing. That's their fault, face the consequences that's it.

If he really wanted to wiggle out of it, he wouldn't be subjecting himself into that bureaucratic nightmare and just paid off the enforcer. There are far easier means to wiggle out of a violation than whatever this is.

It's distasteful that he made it a clout-chasing hoohah by framing it as a "learning experience for his son" in public social media but he really had a point about LTO's crap and ARTA even sided with him. Actions do have consequences but it should never mean they have to be arbitrarily unfair without question.

People really like bashing people they don't like. Deakin has multiple points in his rant. One of them is contesting the reckless driving violation - he did acknowledge the lesser violations are valid and they went ahead to settle that. But LTO focused on that single point and further doubled down by pointing out the car was not registered. They did not address his other points on the 15 calendar days and the OR/CR requirement to settle the violation. LTO was wrong for not addressing that, and for giving people more ammunition on why they did not impound the vehicle and why Deakin's son was not cited for driving an unregistered vehicle. Deakin may be a dipshit, but he did have some valid points. Things are rarely black and white y'know. Even the person you don't like can raise valid or good points.

Yeah, not a fan of Deakin these days, but the people counting that Deakin had 4-5 days to resolve the issue but chose not to are splitting hairs. So you're telling me it's fine for you guys to have 4-5 days to do it when you should've had at least 10? Sure, there's a way to escalate, but are you really fine with this setup?!?!

Di pa naman ako nahuli dyan pero they should accept digital copies from egov app or lto portal.

  • This is good. At least klaro.

Lol.

Nasa batas kasi yun. Pwede pa ito i-challenge kasi ano ang legal basis nila for changing the timeframe of settling fines? RA 4136 explicitly says that failure of the driver to settle his case within fifteen days from the date of apprehension will cause suspension and revocation of his license, and unless the law speaks of working days, calendar days yan.

Under the amendment (RA 10930), ang power lang naman ng Secretary is to adjust the fines every five years and even that is limited to a 5% increase per adjustment. The IRR na i-enact nila under Section 7 cannot go beyond or against what is explicitly stated by the law.

Should DOTr Sec instead order LTO to have personnel available to work during weekends and holidays to cater to those paying their fines?

Makakabayad na ngayon within 15 calendar days.

I could get behind government offices being open on weekends.

The inconvenience is integral to it. Kung fine lang, you just need to get rich enough to not care about it.

Yes you can challenge this in court, pero sino naman ang gagawa nun?

Pero for cases like this, lahat masaya sa extension.

Kaya mo nga sila ipapa-amend kasi you disagree with the law and you can't do that with a mere issuance, circular,  or memorandum.

I also wanted to know this.

Meron rin silang Rules of Procedure which would be in their power to change. Kasi ang sagwa na ito ay working days tapos when you contest the citation, biglang calendar days. Eh IMO mas importante yung timeline for contested citations.

Nagsisimula na sila magbura ng comments. Hindi ko na ma-screenshot kasi burado na. 🤣

  • Right asan na yung nagpost dito na naghanap ng kakampi about his son's violation? The point was the process, the bureaucracy and the red tape, so that there should be a policy change.

Tapos new driver lang yun.

  • The 15-calendar days is really made a head-turner after the numerous holiday last month:

    1. 12/18 Apprehension 🚨

    2. 12/19 ✅

    3. 12/20 ❌ Sat

    4. 12/21 ❌ Sun

    13. 12/30 ❌ Holiday

    14. 12/31 ❌ Holiday

    15. 1/1 ❌ Holiday

    16. 1/2 ❌ Special Non-Working*

EDIT: Work-suspension on Dec. 29 & Jan. 2 under Memorandum Circular No. 111

Na wow mali ka brad. Hindi holiday iyung Dec 29 at Jan 2.

    Good effort though.

Nope. For private, yes. Pero for government agencies (including LTO):

    𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐌 𝐂𝐈𝐑𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐑 𝐍𝐎. 𝟏𝟏𝟏, 𝐬. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Suspension of Work in Government Offices on 29 December 2025 (Monday) and 2 January 2026 (Friday) in Order to Provide Government Employees Full Opportunity to Celebrate New Year's Activities and to Allow Them to Travel to and From Different Regions in the Country

    https://www.officialgazette.gov.ph/9aCX5b

But yeah, the term “holiday” on those days may be confusing- I updated the comment for beter clarity

I jealous the government workers- outstanding luck na for 1 whole week wala silang trabaho; sulit-na-sulit New Year celebration nila 🫠

Yung sa pagkuha ng license, i think they already did that before thats why mmda are not confiscating license anymore. Problem is may pushback on some lgus and di yan sinusunod

  • Can't believe this anti-vaxx dude did us good

  • HAHAHA!

May magagawa nga LTO sana kaso di sila nagkusa. Ang ending, pinahiya.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Gulong/comments/1q7qjt9/bakit_tila_pinagkakaisahan_ng_motoring_media_si/

edit: hello sa mga downvoters. ok lang maging mali, mapahiya, at magmukhang tanga. part ng buhay yan hehe you gotta be humbled at least once or twice in your life

  • Big win for everyone, but fuck Dick-in for his drama queen approach to an issue his son is fully culpable for.

bro if this aint because of the drama, di ma uuga yang mga yan. accountable naman yan sila sa violation, it's just need lang "daw" nya ng clarification

Yung sa license confiscation siguro, pero yung issue about the 15 days was bullshit to the max.

There was 4-5 working days and 8 calendar days between Dec. 18 (day of apprehension) and Dec. 26 (last working day of 2025). But Mr. Dickins tried to fix his problem on a freaking Saturday, Dec. 27. Kundi ba naman sya tanga.

The 15 days is not just an LTO thing, but was a national standard when dealing with legal papers.

Saka hindi sya accountable sa violation ng anak nya, if inintindi mo pinagsasabi dun sa unang video, and even dun sa sumunod. Inaamin daw na may violation sila pero in the same breath sinabi rin na ico-contest daw nila. Ano yun?

alam mo bro yung issue ni deakins, huhupa yan even yung galit mo sakanya, not trying to defend him though. pero looking at the bigger picture, baka walang changes na mangyare sa LTO (which is one of the most corrupted public office lol) kung di nangyare yung drama haha. whatever his drama is versus the LTO. ito yung nagiging bunga. also reminder, di tayo magkakalaban dito. ang kalaban natin yung bulok na sistema hehe yun lang :) sana mabuwag na yang sistemang fucked up at di mapunta sating mga mamamayan ang sisi.

Should DOTr Sec instead order LTO to have personnel available to work during weekends and holidays to cater to those paying their fines?

Makakasettle na ngayon ng 15 calendar days.

if you have a vacation on 18 to 26 would you skip the vacation?

I wouldn’t but consequences are consequences . oks na rin kung gagawin nilang 15 working days , it’s just weird na di naman to issue noon since it’s already ample enough but now it is to cater to a kamote

Sometimes not for some people. especially during the busy Christmas season. Like retail staff. bank workers, accountants, factory workers. delivery workers, etc.

Many of these people cannot afford to take a leave or not allowed to during busy seasons.

Although the point of having a good government is to make every process smooth for its citizens. 15 days may be a lot of time, but it doesn't make sense to include non-working days if your office isn't working on those days. And it also doesn't make sense to not give leeway for non-working days.

You set the 15 days deadline, at least make sure all those 15 days are days one can go to your office and deal with whatever on of those 15 days

    This

bottomline is atleast make the process convenient naman.

    Efficient and convenient.

Once you experience true convenience, you'll want it in your government. I experienced this level of customer service in a Canadian insurance company.

Forgot a document that's in our system? No problem we can bring it up, just need your name

Made a payment mistake? It's alright, we'll reverse the transaction, just need your name and account number

Want to change insurance? Do not worry, we can provide the papers, just need to fill up the documents.

Want to cancel? It's alright, just need your account number, fill up and sign these documents and we'll transfer your money within 7 business days.

Each one of that didn't take 30 minutes. An hour will be the longest depending on your transaction

I won't even mention the convenient services in Japan. Just need a specific account number, or your name and you are good

People don't see it that way unfortunately. Kasi totoo namang ample enough time yan to settle violations.

Wow. Swerte, bakasyon ang 18 to 26.

You do remember that 18, 19, 22, 23, 26 were working days for normal people, right?

Wow wala ka ba 5 days na VL sa trabaho mo? 5 days mandated VL by law so dapat sulitin.

Wow swerte hindi kailangan magleave for the rest of the year.

  • So never give IDs to anyone.

  • It's true though, how can you include days that you are closed and unavailable in a time limit you impose in a driver.

  • Sana mabasa to ni Strike Revilla na may sariling memorandum about confiscating licenses.

  • Thanks PBBM

Ayaw nila baguhin ung bulok na systema kasi more penalty = more mabubulsa 🤣

  • Deakin 1- LTO-0

  • Ikaw tong tatatanong tanong tanga. Just take the win kamote
