Currently in Taiwan. I just have to rant kahit na natutuwa ako sa cost na sobrang baba. I went to a private ENT because I experienced issues with hearing after my flight. Paid for the consult upfront, went to the doctor, got examined using tools + disinfection and cleaning. Got prescribed meds, went to the receptions. The lady looked at me like I was crazy beause I was asking how much the meds were (nag withdraw ako 5kNTD just in case): the meds are INCLUDED sa consult fee?!?!?!
Why the fuck is getting a non-insured checkup and meds in Taipei cheaper than getting one in the PH???
Dito sa Taiwan, a more developed and "expensive" country, sobrang dali at affordble even for a pinoy.
1,100 pesos:
- ENT Consult, examination, cleaning
- Medicine (6 types, w/ antibiotics)
All of that for the price of a single checkup in the Philippines?? Our country is SO fucked up, I can't believe how much we're being treated like shit.
Kawawa tlga, sabi nga nila "Filipinos are just one hospitalization away to bankcruptcy"
Yes. And sadly, sobrang daming younger middle class ang hindi pa narerealize to. Sooner or later they’ll realize na halos walang benefits ang mga middle class sa healthcare.
Not just in healthcare. The rich can get anything they want with their money, the poor got ayuda and all kinds of government assistance, while the middle class gets fuck all.
Pano daming uto uto.
Naexperience namin to just last year. Nahospitalize tatay ko for 4 days, 80k agad ang bill na binayaran through credit card. Ngayon, may babayaran kaming utang monthly for the next two years 🫠
As someone who is reeling from a thyrotoxic paralysis hospital,
Yeah... I am still paying the goddamn debt and ngayon I am barely getting by.
away from bankruptcy or away from death...
I've experienced this first hand, biglang baliktad lahat sa amin nung na diagnose ng cancer father ko, milyon nagastos ko, ubos lahat, baon pa sa utang.
True.
Inclusive na sa PF nila, they will pay their VAT sa tax filing nila.
Isa pa to. Maiintindihan ko ibang professions eh, pero DOCTOR?! Tas may VAT. Langya talagang gobyerno 😭
Pang Grab pa lang yang 1k.
Also consider equivalent peso as to time spent waiting for the doctor
Nainjure din asawa ko sa japan while on vacation. It was a thumb sprain and we went to a private hospital. I was expecting to be there a while kasi sanay kami sa atin na matagal, mahal etc
Nagulat ako 3k pesos lang binayaran namin for xray, medicine and consult tapos mga 30mins lang total time namin dun.
Curious did you have to hire a translator to go with you in your visit?
Google translate lang
friend ko kasi working in Japan, she was made by her ENT to hire a translator to accompany her sa visit. She had to speak up in her basic Japanese to say that she's not spending JPYxxxxx just to get a prescription for meds that she needs. And this was in Tokyo pa not like sa rural area
It never happened to me when I first moved to Tokyo (N1 level now, N5 level before). Most of the time, doctors were totally fine with a basic back-and-forth as long as it wasn’t anything serious. But just like anywhere else, you get all kinds of people, and that includes some wacko doctors. Or doctors who simply can’t be bothered to put in any extra effort, especially when they’ve got a waiting room full of patients (and can make money either way). Mah, I prolly just got lucky.

There's a reason Taiwan's healthcare system ranks highly.
Its not perfect, their Doctors and Nurses also work hard, and in some cases maybe too hard, and their wages arent as high as other places potentially, but clearly there is enough priority, enough money in the system to make it work.
the biggest thing, and those of you whom have been to Taiwan may feel in other areas too, is the overall sense of civic responsibility Taiwanese generally have. From a young age, its instilled to understand that its not always just about you, about the individual, that society and how people treat people matters. This is why you see them patiently waiting in an orderly line for the MRT. There is less noise pollution (typically), and more care shown to others.
I'm glad you got to experience the good side, and hope you take that experience home, and can expect better out of your society, because, thats how it will change, if enough people demand the change.
Just imagine the number of treatments the flood projects could have paid for..... the mind boggles.
US just 2 place above PH.
True, but their Healthcare is in dire need of support too..... too expensive as well.
And just to give context based on my own experience, uber papuntang ER mga $20. Pag nag ambulansya $800, pag bukas ang wang wang $1,200 (prices as of maybe 15 years ago)
Skin to skin contact ni mommy kay baby pag nanganak $300. Isipin mo yun, yinakap mo pang yung anak mo, me bayad.
Kasi why not daw. Tang amang yan.
Being charged extra to hold your newborn is end-stage capitalism.
Kasi sabi nga ng fil am friend ko, America is a business.
Yes, the USA is absolutely a business, its a capitalist system and everything is equated to a dollar figure, but really, a lot of places are, including Pinas. Just look at
Every govt agency wants to issue an "ID" to make a few hundred pesos from you
Around every corner, someone wants to make some money from you. When harmless, we disregard it, when it becomes extreme, we call it a scam. Whether its kuya asking for 20 when he conducts traffic when you are pulling your car out, to people asking for change when you leave the 7-11, to the taxi driver asking for more because its raining.
In other countries when you overstay a visa, you are banned from coming back, in Pinas, you pay a fee/fine.
If you work as a server, and you get the order wrong, or serve incorrectly, it comes out of your pocket.
Same same.
THIS. When I comment this on the other thread, everyone got triggered as if wala sa upbringing ng Pilipino ang part ng problem.
And they wonder why the number of Filipino couple who doesn't want to raise a child is increasing.
this reminds me of the swedish concept of lagom.
Different systems honestly.
Big reason why drugs/medicines are expensive here are they are heavily taxed and handled different than in Taiwan.
Hospitals are understaffed, overcapacity, staff are poorly treated and compensated and like it or not the hospital has to keep its lights on. A lot of the money the hospital gets is from the treatment and the service is provided.
Majority are also underfunded and or privately owned
THIS. Yung main cause ng halos lahat ng pagtaas ng bilihin dahil sa taxes na kinukurakot lang naman+padulas na pinipiga ng gobyerno sa mga negosyo yearly every step of the way. Kailan ba magigising ang mga tao?
What pisses me off too is knowing that most Filipino healthcare workers are so coveted and respected within the healthcare community outside the PH.
But sa pinas we’re overworked, barely paid, and disrespected. Ofc we leave the Ph. So sad.
The pinoy deserves better.
Pinoy reddit disrespect hcws a lot.
Gusto nila pag magpaopera sila ng major lifesaving operation like appendectomy, 1k lang babayaran sa doktor na pumasok sa hospital at 2 am para lang doon (in addition to years ng pag-aaral at training).
Tapos kebs lang sila sa 50k na HMUA.
Give me a break.
Like no wonder healthcare sa PH sucks. No one cares about the people who receive it, no one cares about the people who work in it, and no one cares if it’s running or not.
You’re right too. The garden variety pinoy have some weird obsession with blaming the actual doctors/nurses/hcw about how bad the system is. As if their voted officials have no say in how the system is run.
The only reason many doctors still go through the dehumanizing, mental health destroying, expensive process of residency training is to become a specialist and earn enough money to live a comfortabke middle class life. You know, goals naman ng karamihan sa atin. And we reach financial stability far later than our peers in corporate... who are still far richer and far more well rested than we will ever be. That's the truth. If they started throttling the hard earned PF of the doctors who work far longer hours than your typical redditor, I'd imagine far less specialists in the country.
And for all the insane hours medtechs and nurses work, talagang kawawa sila. These people get "OTY" a lot and get a PRC license only to kill themselves doing insane 12 hour night shifts with lower salary than an HS grad working in a call center. No wonder everyone is going abroad or becoming VAs.
Pinoy specialists (e.g. ENTs) deserve their Php 1,000 PF (& additional fee for procedures like ear cleaning) for the almost 20 years of training that they need to undergo + overhead costs pa nila sa clinic.
Yes, people forget the insane overhead that comes with running a clinic. Equipment, staff, rent... and even hospital based pracititioners had to invest just to start practicing. The 10000 fees and documentary requirements both from PRC and the local government. And then there's the goddamn taxes lalo na kung law abiding citizen ka.
Pinoy redditors like to whine about the overheads of their own businesses pa naman. Either ignorante sila sa costs of running a practice or they think doctors should act like charitable nuns and priests with a vow of poverty while working long hours.
I agree, Taiwan's healthcare is one if the best, if not the best.
My wife and I currently live in Taiwan and have been utilizing their healthcare to the fullest.
For perspective, nanganak ang asawa ko dito and we only spent around 17,000 NTD for the birthing process all in na, if wala pa epidural it would have only costed us 7k NTD. Then after that nakapag avail pa kami ng subsidy from the labor insurance worth more than 5 times ng ginastos namin sa panganganak. So you could say parang kumita pa kami for having pregnancy here.
Also, cleaning and pasta only costs 200 NT here which roughly amounts to 350 pesos only.
I really wish Filipinos could experience this kind of topnotch healthcare.
Yet lagi tayo nageexport ng personnel that lets these better healthcare systems stand on two legs. Cruel, cruel irony.
Yan ang sad thing though. The best pa rin Pinoy healthworkers. Iba talaga alagang Pinoy.
From 1 Trillion to 530B
Hays
Same OP. I went to ER due to hives. They got me on steroid shot and meds. Also issued med cert for my insurance all in all 2.2k ang bill. I was satisfied by their service tlga.
Mga taga-US dito nagpapa-ospital. Madami sa St. Luke's BGC. Mas malala kasi healthcare ng US kesa dito considering what OP posted.
Yes, that's what I heard too. Yan mga nababalitaan ko, gently correct me if I am wrong.
This is correct. I asked how much yung out of the pocket nung procedure ko kapag di covered ng insurance and guess what, it’s 5x of the price na. I don’t have a choice but to wait for my dr to “defend” my case to my insurance why I need it. Na approve naman after nila mag usap ng insurance ko pero after almost 2 mos pa ako nabigyan ng sched.
Another incident is I have to write a letter to my insurance why kailangan nila icover yung isang medical procedure ko na nagawa na lol. From $800 naging $150 nalang binayaran ko.
Perfect ang US!
Wag ka, mga puting travel vloggers finiflex pa "its so cheap to get a treatment here!" 🥴
Mas maganda nga nung estudyante pa ako sa Taiwan, dahil part ako ng National Health Insurance (NHI) nila, which is around 5k NTD (approximately 8k pesos), ang participation fee ay 100 NTD lang, kasama na medicine :)
Ang naging major issue ko lang noon, highly regulated ang medicine to the point na dati, maski paracetamol, di ako makabili, pero kasi 100 NTD lang naman yung participation fee so di na ako nagrereklamo, haha 🤣
Taiwan Numba 1
Hanggat tinatrato ng gobyerno ang health care as a privilege and not a necessity, hindi nila pagtutuunan ng pansin yan. Imagine nung may surplus ang philhealth, instead na dagdagan ang serbisyo o bawasan ang premium ang una nilang naisip is i-divert ang funds to generate money? Mga hindot gustong patakbuhin ang philhealth as an insurance company
This is why we should all encourage international travel, aside from experiences it just widens everyone's perspectives in all aspects which we can bring back home and demand from our government every basic necessity that we are entitled to.
Imagine that after WWII, halos pareho tayo ng status ng Taiwan and SK. Nabasa ko to when I was researching for my paper.
Haaaay
We fly to Taiwan (or BKK) for our annual executive check up because th packages are cheaper, maganda services and overall experience.
if you dont have insurance (HMO) you really have to rely on charity which the pulpoliticians will use patronage politics by dangling the "Letter og Guarantee" which is basically the taxes that you workers contributed. F$&%* that
It is surprising how affordable healthcare can be in other countries. When I was in SK a few years ago for a vacation, I suffered a gout attack. Went to a private clinic for a consultation with a specialist and got injected with painkillers and enough meds for a week (3x a day). I only spent about 1200 php.
Misis ko naoperahan both hands due to carpal tunnel syndrome dito sa Canada. Mas mahal pa binayaran namin sa parking. On top of that, bayad yung days na hindi sya nakapag work through EI.
Malayong malayo tayo compared sa ibang bansa and that's just healthcare.
Sobrang kawawa talaga. Just today we had an emergency, nahulog ang tatay ko and bumagsak sya, pumutok ang labi, sugatan ang mukha, tuhod, halos di magalaw ang katawan. He was rushed to a public hospital. And like most Filipinos experienced in a public hospital, no one really attended to my father. Wala daw xray, wala daw doctor, nilinis lang ang sugat nya at binigyan ng referral, dalhin daw sa ibang hospital which is malayo na dito samin. We had no choice but to go to a private doctor to have him checked and immediately tinahi yung sugat nya sa bibig and babalik na lang kami bukas for other tests. Grabe noh? Imagine we are being withheld taxes every month, and our country is in so much debt just to fund the national budget yet Filipinos are dying in public hospitals, wala tayong maayos na hospital bawat municipality. Sobrang nakakaawa tayo. Grabe.
Taiwan is cheaper because it runs on National Health Insurance, which is subsidized by their government.
Taiwan can do this cause they’re much richer per person. GDP per capita is about US$41.6k for Taiwan vs ~US$4.6k for the Philippines (roughly 9× higher), which translates into a much bigger funding base for subsidies.
It’s not purely a healthcare problem.
Went to taiwan before and akala ko kulelat sila kasi tinatalo lng natin sila sa basketball pero putang ina ang ganda don. Organized yung transport saka sidewalk with trees
Lol yung reference sa basketball. Yes sobrang lala ng pinas compared to neighboring countries.
BGC lang pinagmamalaki ng bansang ito?
Just curious were you able to speak to your doctor in English or Chinese dapat? How did you find the doctor? Pwde walk in lang? Or may waiting period? How did you select the doctor?
All doctors in taiwan are proficient with english is what my doctor told me. (he sloke fluent english too)
i think a safe assumption is the higher the profession/job/fit, the likelihood of fluency in english
Nice..friend ko kasi working in Japan, she's made by her ENT to hire a translator to accompany her sa visit. She had to speak up in her basic Japanese to say that she's not spending JPYxxxxx just to get a prescription for meds that she needs.
I live abroad and I have been helping a little boy out sa Pinas. He is not related to me. Little boy is 4 and has leukaemia. Everyday kelangan nila mamili if pagkain or pang gamot.
Ako dati check-up, x-ray, blood test and endoscopy less than 1knt lang binayaran ko including medicine na.
Nagpauto nga sila kay Mr. Malasakit na top 1 supported by more than 20M voters.
When offered by a better candidate, ayaw naman. Sila pa tatanggi at maninira.
Even dito sa singapore. My subsidy from the government yung mga gamot. Basta sa government clinics ka. One time nagkasakit ako common cold, fever, ubo, sipon.
Padala muna sila nang letter, tapos either kukunin mo sa designated office nila near you or they can just send you to the bank account of the kid. Kapag nka pag abroad ka, you can’t help but compare and say , SANA SA PINAS GANITO DIN.
It's my first time, and I really felt na parang walang care yung doctor like everything feels rushed (gets ko din naman since madami siyang pasyente that time). Sobrang sakit ng procedure ha and after kong tumayo sobrang nahilo ako and hindi ko pa ma balance ng maayos sarili ko tapos pinapasok na agad ang next patient. Wala man lang siyang prescribe medication na binigay like ear drops. Ayun pinabalik ako ulit sa doctor for check up saka pa ako bingyan ng ear drops, so another bayad ulit 1k+🤦♀️
What's more upsetting is sobrang tagal dumating ng doctor like I waited 2 hrs or more.
The simplest answer is that Taiwan's NHI is the best when it comes to socialized healthcare. Similar to power or water, healthcare is treated like a utility. It is heavily regulated so that prices for drugs, diagnostics and medical procedures are within a certain range. Of course, they come at the expense of doctors not being as highly paid per patient compared to other countries. However, you can't deny the results and something that Philhealth should aspire to achieve.
Living in the Philippines is like being in a video game na naka-hard mode yung settings.
Med cert satin may bayad 🥲
Nakakagulat talaga. Taipei: 1100 pesos for 3x/day, 5meds for 10 days + medicated ear drops.
It's a way to deter patients from asking for it.
Fvvck.
I paid 2,000 for the ENT consult noon nung impacted na yung earwax ko at maga na at di na ako ganu makarinig.
+ around 1,000 for the medicines prescribed. I never used cotton buds again kasi sabi ng ENT applying hot compress nlng sa ear para malinis matangal yung wax at hnd maitulak sa loob uli.
Mahal nga talga mgkasakit sa pinas
We have corruption in the Philippines
Healthcare system in the PH is so messed-up that even the bare minimum effort from the govt (like zero billing program, etc.) makes it look like a huge step up. Like??? Bakit ngayon lang??? We deserve better!!!
Lahat gusto umangat at makalamang. Katwiran eh kung ayaw mo, wag mo. Wala naman din functioning na regulators dito.
Pano ba magrelocate sa Taiwan?
My friend hurt himself while hiking in HK. Not a resident, just a tourist. 2 days in the hospital + surgery + ambulance + meds. P20k. Yes it was a government hospital and the bedside manner wasn't the best but the surgery was top notch (very minor scar).
1k for online consult lang tapos may processing fee sa platform + taxes!!! Suskopo, kawawa ang Pilipino
Sadly, I miss it in a way. I miss the capability of buying my meds that I know will work for me (not abx). Yung pwede ako magpa xray if gusto ko. Pumili ng doctor na kilala ako at alam kong magaling magdiagnose and prescribe.
I’m in the UK with “free healthcare”. I have been having the worst viral cough and cold for more than a month pero walang improvement. Yesterday, I sought the services ng healthcare dito. A random doctor got assigned to me kasi wala yung randomly selected ko na GP or doctor. I explained my symptoms, how long, ano mga tinatake kong gamot, what makes it worse, etc. Kumpleto and medical history. He saw na tachycardic ako during our convo, it was at 130s while sitting down. Ano ginawa nia? Prescribed me with freaking Amox three times a day for 5 days. Sabi ko, sure ka? And then I asked, do you think I need steroids at this point? A steroid inhaler maybe, or nebs? Wala. How about xray? Pag daw di ako nagimprove ng 2 weeks, balik daw ako and they will request for a chest xray. I was stunned. I hate the healthcare here. When I got my meds from the pharmacy, I had to pay £9.90 para sa 15 na pirasong Amox na yan.
We have better doctors there. Sadly, yung treatment ang mahal sa atin and walang share ang government in our healthcare. Pero if papapiliin ako like what happened to me, I’d rather be treated back home. My mom is even tempted to send me my usual meds huhu.
Taiwan have higher standards of living than most western countries.
Kaya alam na, migrate while you can. Filipinos deserve better. Gave up when 31M Filipinos voted for the 🤡
wala eh. daming bwaya.
Wala pang resibo pag bayad mo sa doctor for consultation
Gusto ng pinoy pag magpaopera sila ng major lifesaving operation like appendectomy, 1-2k lang babayaran na professional fee sa doktor na pumasok sa hospital at 2 am para lang doon (in addition to years ng pag-aaral at training. Gusto nila isang kahig isang tuka mga HCWs dito porket hippocratic oath keme at service vocation shit daw.
Tapos kebs lang sila sa 50k na HMUA.
Give me a break.
Omg.
Kaya mo bang gawin magisa mo? Or may apparato sila na mahal?
Hanggang ngayon nasa ospital pa rin since December 25. GL ng government won't work here kasi naka on hold baka di nababayaran.
The best talaga.
1500 nga ang check-up dito pag specialist eh.
Filipino govt. want to copy USA system so much that they also copied the shitty stuff
[removed]
1200 bayad namin check up pa lang sa ENT. Before pandemic pa to. Tapos pagbalik namin 2800 consultation+ cleaning, diko na maalala magkano antibiotic na nireseta bago kami bumalik.
That's my problem with our country. Systema kasi natin is copy paste sa America, everything is privatized for no reason.
Also, napakabait nila, got some friends there, they even think highly of us na maganda dito and we are cool and rich in history, when in fact sila nga mas better, napaka humble nila sa totoo lang.
How was the waiting time sa consultation mo?
no waiting time. i was the first patient. after me nagkapila around 2 were waiting. this was around 4pm, i doubt waitign time is high
Woah! That’s a lot way cheaper nga. Checkup plus examination and cleaning nadin cost us, 2600 + Doctor’s Fee na 1,000php. May xray procedures and follow-up checkups pa, another payment pa yun. 😢
Even provincial hospitals in Bukidnon deserve better, and those that don't have family connections can't instantly give you a check up most of the time.... though it's a case-by-case since mine tends to be quicker and isn't as expensive due to Wealth..... pero yes hirap talaga if meron cancer ang pasyente.
I live in Taiwan. I had surgery once and I only had to pay less than 10 K pesos. Meanwhile, my dad has surgery in the Philippines and it cost a 1 million pesos.
Walang kahit anong health card ek ek.

Im not in the position to know alot about healthcare and since di pa ako nagbabayad it’ll sound ignorant for me to say but it could be worse. I think the worst standard of healthcare is sa US being a redundant topic there, idk tho alam ko super super mahal dun
My bff is also in Taiwan, she recently undergo some major surgeries, grabe ang health care system dyan. Nakaka bilib.
To be specific, yung middle class ang kawawa, pag mahirap madami pwede mahingan ng tulong. Pag middle class ka, nasa limbo ka, not too poor to avail assistance and not rich to afford without causing financial damahe. saglit lang bankrupt ka agad,
I was a diaysis patient before maKidney Transplant.
I tried to explain to them as much as I could at hindi sila nagrereply after ng response ko. I told him na we need atleast 157 sessions per year and I hope magawan nila ng paraan para maachieve yun dahil may pamasahe, pagkain, meds and other needs pa kami besides dialysis sessions.
Last few years ay naging 156 sessions na yung nabibigay ng PhilHealth pero kulang pa rin ng isang session para sa last year. Alam mo kung ano ang silver lining this time?
Exactly 💯
My dad just got his 2 months free medication from the NHS. under tourist visa sya. libre checkup. ang di lang libre dito hospitalisation kaya kinuhaan ko sya ng travel insurance.
Kaya di ko gets mga nasa UK at ibang bansa na gusto magretire sa pinas. kahit may pension ako, knowing may commmorbidities kami I don't see myself retiring sa pinas. sure, visit pwede. pero tumira for good? NO. yang pension na yan at savings limas yan pag nagkasakit ka. I was a cancer survivor kaya alam ko gano kagastos. someone said, "Kung oras mo na mamatay, ok lang".
How can we get out of this shiithole. Marami parin want to vote for the same old names na nagaaway-away lang
Sa US maganda healthcare system din even for non citizen
Mediocre and looks at you as cows to milk money from. Test this, test that. Go early just to get listed sa line then comeback when the doctor arrives tf.
In some other countries it, they'll give you a shopping bag fill it with Meds you need and might not need, then antibiotics if all the other Meds don't work. Then say goodbye like they don't want to see you again anytime soon.
Most of the time when I have to take my Fam to the hospital, after diagnosing they'll just inject you with the anti biotics and you're back to normal after 1 day.
Not only healthcare, the quality of life in general.
The Philippines has been "sobrang kawawa" since the 1980s. That's because it's been deindustrializing since then.
That's why four decades ago politicians were reporting on the unusually high prices of medicine in the Philippines. Add to that high prices for electricity, fuel, and telecomm services, among others.
Dito sa Pinas, maghihintay ka na lang talaga ng kamatayan mu once na nagkasakit ka and wala kang steady job na may HMO or savings man lang. Kahit na nag work ka for so long and marami na contribute sa mga pesteng govt. mandated deductions n yan. I know for sure because may 2 years na akong freelance, since wlang HMO, pinagdadasal ko na lang na gumaling ako sa mga sakit ko based on self medication. Kasi if ppunta ka sa public hospital, wala rin silbi if yung mga lab tests and meds hindi ma ccover since 2 years na akong wlang contribution and wala din savings now at mahina kita sa freelance for me.
Philhealth is almost the same ng National Health Insurance sa Taiwan. You can almost use it anywhere.
I previously got my annual medical. Paid NTD150 (Less than P300).
Ugh. Kawawa ang mga Filipino.
Dont forget our healthcare workers.
My mother has masectomy then chemo here in Taipei its not cheap pero MMC or BGC price cguro, pero iba yung efficiency. Its like organized chaos, they have 100 plus chemo patients daily dito sa hospital lang, pero things get done in order. From doctor consult lab test, billing, efficient lahat. Government hospital ito.
For.me Taiwan have the best healthcare in the world. I've lived there before and although I have a private health insurance yung national health insurance nila is super mura at mga operation is mostly covered.
We have to eat to!
Those systems abroad are subsidized by their governments. There is no free lunch. Every healthcare worker you met gets paid well kahit 1100 pesos lang binayaran mo.
Sa Pilipinas, dahil OUT OF POCKET ang system natin - meaning almost zero govt subsidies - kung wala kang HMO, you pay on your own.
Philhealth? Pays us pennies. Delayed, tapos barya. Imagine: I work at the ED, when i save a life (as in literal bec part ng trabaho yan) like if a person having a heart attack becomes critical and i get him out of that OR if he actually dies and i revive him and im able to stabilize and get him alive sa ICU, Philhealth pays me 707 pesos before tax for that patient.
Clamor for universal health coverage - di yung limited lang sa DOH hospitals etc yung no balance billing or indigents lang pwede bang NBB
Clamor for better, more efficient, more effective Philhealth na di nanakawin ang pondo every before elections
Yup maganda healthcare system ng Taiwan. I got hospitalized there once and very convenient ang kanilang healthcare system pati yung gamot na ibibigay nila sayo may instructions and additional details such as side effects and ingredients ng medicine. And libre ang ambulance nila!
Time is money kasinskin
My mom is staying in taiwan and under recovery from breast cancer, ang pinaka expense nya is food daw nya pag pupunta ng clinic haha the rest is covered na ng insurance nya and under din sya ng isang foundation which ung onco nya din ang naglakad sa kanya para macover sya. Pero if babayadan daw nya ung check up at test wala pa daw 1K NTD yun. Kaya nabibigla sya pag nauwi sya ng PH and nagpapa medical sya.
Sad to say but it’s true.
i am a current resident of Taipei and I can attest to the fact that Taiwan has one of the best National Health system in the world.
we pay for National Health Insurance (NHI) every month and it’s properly use for what is intended. no corruption, no nonsense.
and above all, there is no discrimination when it comes to “health”. foreigners or locals receive exact same care.
Agree. So disappointing 🤦🏻♀️ in my 14yrs on the workforce field, not wishing for critical stuffs, I haven’t utilized this Philheath. Tapos now need ko for medical assistance, susme ni-piso wala ako mahita. Said sahod ko sa meds and checkups. Pwee.
and the doctor would just prescribe you some meds here without proper examination
That's why I love Taiwan lalo na yung massive transportation system nila.
Someone should investigate DOH talaga. Just look at Philhealth. May kabulastugan dyan.
