After years of lurking, I finally got a live one

  • I guess it means the original song became a parody of the current USA or is so relevant that he hasn't changed a word.

Just take a quote "Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses"

Man, you quoted a third of the song !

    I can quote another third:

    "Uh!"

FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!

FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!

FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!

FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL MEEEEEEEEEE!

(By the laws of logic, the song is now complete.)

Hell yeah man - the part everyone remembers and I can only assume a lot of fans thought was directed at their parents or something.

Then you grow up, hear it again, and realize it definitely wasn’t about chores and curfews.

Seems like it’s either that or you still don’t realize and feel the need to publicly express disappointment that the band has suddenly become political.

The things one discusses when their wife is as wet and ready as the Sahara

Ben, you really need to stop burning your ghost accounts.

My wife's a doctor and she says it's normal, wetness is abnormal

    What does her boyfriend say?

Like people complaining about Star Trek or Doctor Who SUDDENLY becoming political.

What do people think "May This Be Your Last Battlefield" is about? Why do they think The Doctor never carried a gun?

Hell, I've seen people, self identified "long time fans" mind you, complain about how the X-Men '97 series "went woke."

It's like...tell me you never watched, read, or understood anything X-Men related at all ever in your entire life.

They have usually watched the TV show/movies but their media literacy is so low they don't get the subtext. They simply see it as fun action movie #246

I always loved that the difference between Professor X and Magneto was just how radical they'd go in order to protect mutants. It's so cool to see a villain and hero have such similar ideologies, but differ on extent

Tell them to read X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills from 1982

A slight tangent but the reminded me about the Doctor Who movie, set awkwardly between the original series and the current one, which begins with the Doctor setting foot in the US and almost immediately getting gunned down.

Ah yes, the only canon Dr Who movie and one that nearly never acknowleged.

BTW the 8th Doctor is basically a book and audio drama only incarnation with quite alot of stories, until they rebooted the TV show.

The number of people that don’t realize the original and rebooted Planet of Apes was about civil rights and slavery. I worked with a guy that didn’t realize The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe was a Christian allegory.

Lewis and Tolkien were great friends and both were devout believers. Lewis was protestant and Tolkien was Catholic. Both authors used allegory but to different ends; Tolkien's allegory** was more about international politics and the impact of war on the common people (Hobbits). Lewis' allegory was more focused on Christian theology.

Both were members of a group of literary club known as the Inklings.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inklings?wprov=sfla1

**I should point out that Tolkien didn't like DIRECT allegory, preferring an allegory of broad themes.

My teenager has been a huge fan of the entire Mad Max series since well before Furiosa, but when Furiosa finally came out there were some people who complained about it "turning political". Even my 14 year old child was telling my conservative cousin "there is no Mad Max without political commentary! How do you think we got Water Wars, or why they built a Thunderdome?!"

That means you have raised your teenager well.

Ohhh people saying that about Doctor Who pisses me off so much!! It was originally an "educational" show for fucks sake! That is inherently political because teaching the next generation about the failures of the past and present pisses people off! Not to mention the long history of queercoding + canonically queer characters, both mentally and physically disabled characters, the idea that everyone deserves to live and extinction is always bad?? I could go on...

Like, what machine do they think the band was raging against?

You know, I never was sure, but I'm torn between the printer and the fax machine

    PC Load Letter

So "fuck you I won't do what you tell me" was from the perspective of the printer. Makes sense.

Imagine my shock when a band called "Twisted Sister", and has most of their band members with long fab hair and heavy make-up wasn't conservative!

Dee Snider is a real one.

Him roasting Al Gore should be taught in schools.

Or the secret third option I saw where a guy had always assumed they were far-right and were celebrating 'the chosen whites' and was very angry to learn otherwise

The video of that 80 year old lady wearing an American flag as a cape and singing this song outside of a polling place during the 2020 election to “stop the steal” will never leave my head for the rest of my life.

It was about cnn telling them they must not swear on life Television

I had a coworker talking about this song, 34 year old man. He was trying use it to prove how whiny teens and liberals are. I bit my tongue so hard. Like how does, even at that age, the point of that song go so far over your head?

This is why that dude mainly listened to modern country music. Lyrics deeper than beer and trucks is too hard to get.

Once upon a time, on a website far away, I had a poster insist that "Mr. President, Have Pity on the Working Man", was about Obama.

Assuming you're not old enough to remember that song, it's from the 1970's.

I'm guessing he's the type of dipshit who hears "Fortunate Son" & proclaims "Ah, the irony of a rich musician (something something something)..."?

Does he also have a dyed blonde wife that unironically listens to gansta-rap while also proclaiming "cities are warzones"?

Yes sir, I’ll do just what ya tell me!

    MOTHERFUCKEEEEEEEER!!!

("Yes, that's why I'm your dad.")

Fuck you I won't tidy my bedroom!

Some of those who give choreses are the same that burn crosses.

"chorses" is definitely what Gollum calls them though

    We hates it.

Some of those that eat horses

    Are those horrible orcses

    …the same that burn toasties

My intro to this song was Guitar Hero so they cut this part out. I was 13 years old. Loved the song and downloaded it on iTunes and imagine my Christian good boy ass when that part came on. It awoke something within me. Now all I listen to is punk and hardcore and antiestablishment music. Thanks RATM!

I was well over 30 before I really realized that RATM, and most punk songs, repeat the lines because it's about the message not necessarily the word crafting

Well, to be fair it's also about the rage

Don't forget the machine. Fuck the machine!

Those who died are justified, by wearing a badge they're your chosen whites!

It’s wild to see them written out plainly.

That one time on live BBC during Christmas. What a powermove by Zack.

It brought me so much joy to learn about that. And even more when I learned that the bbc basically went, "yeah, in hindsight we should have really seen that coming"

They knew it was going to happen, they just did everything they needed to do to let it hapoen and not get in trouble with the regulating body. You really think they couldn't have cut them off as soon as the first "fuck" came through? Or even before as there's a delay on the broadcast?

Its still cool, but everyone involved was in on it.

    MOTHERFUCKER!!!! UGH

Well that is like the last 20 seconds of the song.

Except for the missing fourth third that’s repeats the tracks title…

And the fifth third, “those who died are justified, by wearing the badge, they’re your chosen whites” Apparently, we’re using the hitchhikers guide definition of trilogy now.

Can't wait for my kid to yell this at me

NOW YOU DO WHAT THEY TOLD'YA

    AND NOW YOU'RE UNDER CONTROL

I don't know why this made laugh so hard.

The most important part of that song. I love that UH!

Killing in the name of! Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses Huh!

    Yeah! Come on!

Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me! Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me! Motherfucker! Uggh!

Full lyrics. Still a fucking banger of a song.

literally screaming the message at the top of his lungs and countless of stupid fucking bastards out there still don't hear it

I just don't know why they had to start getting so political, like just stick to the music

    /s

Paul Ryan has entered he chat

“Hell yeah man, I love this song!”

    “…aren’t you a cop?”

    “yeah, and?”

"I like the part about killing, man!"

"Body cam on? Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!"

They relate to the part about killing just fine.

RATM is a perfect example of the artist's message going over so many people's heads. It reminds me of in bloom by Nirvana: "He's the one who likes all our pretty songs, and he Likes to sing along and he likes to shoot his gun, but he Knows not what it means

I like the bbc version that goes

Killing in the name of! Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses Huh!

Hey wait a minute, sorry we needed to get rid of that because that suddenly turned into something that we were not exp... well, we were expecting it and asked them not to do it and they did it anyway...

Why do people always have to take music and make it political? /s

Occasionally lyrics change to ‘sound near this who hold office, are the same that burn crosses’ which is 🤌🏻

That isn't remotely close. He wasn't singing it as a parody (how could it be?) He didn't write it, and the song is a blatantly straightforward one about racism and police brutality; it wasn't meant to be humorous then or now. The implication is that the current state of things are bad enough for a comedy artist to unironically cover a song about such serious topics

Exactly, the joke is that reality caught up to the song, not the other way around.

Reality was already up to date with the song when it was written.

Recently, it just overtook it. Like a BMW would a school bus on the autobahn.

Indeed, people don't realize the United States has always been on the wrong side of history - we were founded on a revitalized slave trade and the genocide of Native Americans under "manifest destiny".
We take care of profit, not people, and always have under the guise of freedom and democracy.
The new deal only occurred because the citizens were near revolt over the wealthy hoarding resources and treating them like dirt.
Civil rights only advanced because the people forced the issue with Martin Luther King Jr. holding the silk glove and Malcom X showing the threat of a gauntlet underneath it.
It's beyond time for more civil unrest.

Your reality caught up to the song because you would not listen.

No, reality didn't catch up to it, either. RATM didn't make the song about a hypothetical future.

Agreed. The racists just finally took off their hoods.

Almost like some asshole occupying the highest office in the land gave them permission to do so.

One benefit is I was able to cut ties with some people that had been hiding their true selves. So that's an upside, I guess.

At no point in US history has that song not been reality. He wasn't singing about some theoretical future, dude

That song was always reality, just not your reality.

You could even say you woke up and saw the true reality of the situation.

that song was a reality when it came out

    Isn't that what he said?

or is so relevant that he hasn't changed a word.

The noteworthy thing isn't that the song is relevant, it's that it's bad enough that even Weird Al felt it was a sentiment worth earnestly repeating without humor

Which is exactly what “or is so relevant that he hasn’t changed a word” means. Starting your comment with “that isn’t remotely close” is hilarious when you’re nitpicking

Yeah, that’s the point that they’re making, the lyrics are so relevant that Weird Al didn’t even change them which is what he does with LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE.

I still love the video of 2 boomers blasting this song at a Trump rally without realizing the song isn't for them, it's about them. The ignorance of Maga will always amaze me.

Didn't Trump blast Fortunate Son at one of his rallies...

YES HE DID. Also, the concept of songs being played at occasions that are not meant for those is very common. Every breath you take is a song about someone stalking someone else and it is a popular wedding song. White Wedding is a song against marriage and is also a popular wedding song. No woman No cry is about comforting a crying woman, not about being happy to be single. Who let the dogs out is about making fun of cat callers. Feel Good inc is a anti corpo song which is used by corproations for advertisement. Hey Ya is an example of a song were the music is a contrast to the lyrics and people think it is a fun song while the lyrics even mocj them for it "You don't want to listen, you just wanna dance". Macarena is about a woman cheating on her husband while he is deployed with his best friends. You're beautiful is also a stalker anthem and a popular wedding song. Myriads of party anthems that are actually against partying ( for example, "fight for your right" by beastie boys). Song 2 by Blur is a parody of the genre is their only success by enjoyers of said genre. Lips of an Angel is about wanting to cheat on your partner and is (surprise) also a favorite on weddings. Better sweet symphony is anti capitalism and also a wedding song for whatever reasosns. Possession is about literally what a stalker wrote the singer and is also a wedding song. Love Song from Sara baraille is about her record forcing her to write a love song. The Management or MGMT made their pop songs as generic as possible to make fun of people just wanting generic shit and how stupid it is and it made them famous, proving their point.99 Luftballons is about the stupidity and threat of nuclear war. Funny thing is, the english one 99 airballoons wasn't as popular in the US as the German version. Valos a la Playa is also about nuclear war. Take me to church is pro LGBT, however is often played by people against queer rights on their rallies and interpreted by them to he pro religious dogma.

I've seen ads in the uk where pumped up kicks is used for children's events because it sounds fun and light hearted and similarly there's a cruise ship company (I forget which one) that uses the passenger because it sounds adventurous, or golden brown for restaurants because it's reminiscent of cooked food

Yes he did. Irony is completely lost on Maga, it should honestly be studied.

Born In The USA is another one. They hear the chorus and think it's a nationalistic anthem, but the song is actually about disillusionment with how the country fails to live up to its promises

No study required, though. These are deeply ignorant and superficial people with no media literacy. So they're easily fooled by surface level stuff and won't make the effort to understand what they're actually listening to, in music as it is in politics.

The amount of Republicans that blast Born in the USA without a hint of irony is also staggering.

I keep saying, if right-wingers had any media literacy, they'd have no media at all.

Hopping on the top comment to say that Weird Al didn’t cover the song, but joined Portugal. The Man on stage to sing one of their songs and then they played Killing In The Name Of after it, and Al stayed and sang along and head banged. Jorma Taccone of the Lonely Island was on stage too dressed as Pee Wee Herman.

Here is a video of the performance

And as an aside, Weird Al did also cover RATM in a polka melody. Renegades of Funk was included in the Angry White Boy Polka on Poodle Hat.

    Take a quote? F U I won‘t do what you tell me.

    [deleted]

That line is used in the second verse of the live version by Prophets of Rage, a supergroup of Rage Against the Machine and Public Enemy members

You're saying they changed the line because the record company told them to?

Fuck you I will do what you pay me to

In the United States in 2025 it would honestly feel wrong to sing that song with parody lyrics.

  • Weird Al is famously family-friendly in much the same way Disney is: no profanity, nothing especially controversial, no politics, just jokes and positive vibes.

Look up the lyrics to "Killing in the Name Of." https://genius.com/Rage-against-the-machine-killing-in-the-name-lyrics

Weird Al covering this is the rough equivalent of Mickey Mouse singing"Cop Killer" during Disney on Ice.

The Vienna Boys' Choir singing "Antichrist Superstar"

Up with People covering "Fight the Power"

How can you say Weird Al is a "no politics" kind of artist ? He sang Party in the CIA back in 2011, and that entire song is all about american crimes.

The awfull part is that it wasn't really a political topic, Americans kinda treated it as part of life that their government is up to shady stuff abroad, no one approves of it but at the same time very few people take it serious enough

I think it's better to say the politics in that song aren't partisan. There currently isn't really a disagreement between the two parties about the CIA. When presidents debate, what to do about the crimes of the CIA is not a topic of discussion.

On my going theory of: Half the fights on the internet happen because people have different meanings of words: most fights about if X is political or not happen because side A means "any sort of discussion of politics whatsoever", while side B means "choosing a side in the partisan politics of american left and right (usually left)"

Not a theory when you're just stating facts. Just another symptom of this stupid artificial partisanship we have going on to distract us from real threats.

When part of the partisanship is "should certain people have human rights," it is a real threat

It was absolutely partisan in 2011.

This might be showing my age, but the invasion of Iraq was just being found to be unfounded. The Iraq war had started when I was in 3rd grade and did not end until 2011. The song came out before the end. Republicans were on the side of continuing the war while democrats opposed. There was a centrist view that favored ending the war, but worried about how pulling out might affect the lives of Iraqis and the rise of the Taliban. Which with hindsight, was the exact right call of how it would play out.

With the end of the war, you also had the argument that the PATRIOT act of continued would lead to further degradation of personal rights, civil rights, and a right to privacy. Republicans wanted to continue funding and maintain the PATRIOT act while more Liberal democrats pushed repealing and creating legislation ensuring rights preventing a future police state. (Again hindsight 2020)

Last there was the controversy of what happened at Guantanamo bay. Herald and Kumar go to Guantanamo bay came out in 2008, which was an entire movie about the CIA incorrectly racially profiling two stoners who get sent because the CIA thought they were terrorist from racial profiling. Stop and frisk was being debated of its racial profiling, and 9/11, Iraq, and the PATRIOT Act were all tied to this practice even being legal. Republicans did not want to get rid of Guantanamo bay and fought against the investigation of the human rights abuses in the coming out of 2002-2005. More liberal democrats wanted to own up and to punish the CIA with more oversight.

I recently thought that there's this trope - "funny ex CIA guy that lovingly remembers how they toppled governments of South America" and I had a revelation that it's fucking insane

These kinds of guys in Hollywood media are usually the nice, funny, definitely good guy, usually the mentor or some nice connection to old times

Imagine a Russian movie with a KGB guy that jests about assassinating a Lithuanian minister in 70s? And everyone is like, yeah, that's one of the Good Guys?

Have you seen RED? It's mostly the ex-CIA/NSA/etc guys, but it does have the sympathetic old KGB guy talking about the "good times" of trying to de-stable governments and murder American agents.

(I haven't read the comic the movie is based on. I'm just referencing the movie.)

I did, and I think it was probably the reason I even noticed how popular that "retired nice agent in a Hawaiian shirt" is, actually! Because usually they're just a "funny but competent" sidekick in Just Cause, Far Cry, and many movies too

    What about Trigger Happy?

Yeah I thought about fluffy was so full of lead that I guess we’ll have to use her as a pencil instead.

Edit: but also let the kids have the reality and their night Santa went crazy. Let this person stay unawares.

There's even a whole narrative about how this shady stuff is strictly necessary and everyone who doesn't approve is just a hypocrite benefitting from the real men who will do the hard things for them.

Even on a mainstream fucking subreddit I've had a whole thread of people jump down my throat and call me childish for saying I don't approve of shit like CIA arms dealing to 'protect' me from the true bad people in the world. That's how pervasive this narrative is.

Back then it wasn't political or particularly controversial to acknowledge that the federal government regularly murders people for it's own cryptic reasons. It's only a 'thing' now because Americans are waking up to the horrific reality experienced by non Americans re: the federal behemoth.

There's still a lot of things Americans are sleepwalking through

That song falls in the same category as "Christmas at Ground Zero" - horrible topic, but considered a "yawn" by the public at the time. (Threat of nuclear war so constant, no big deal).

"Jerry Springer" off Running With Scissors isnt Disney family friendly. Although it makes sense given the subject matter!

"Five days since we had the show with the hermaphrodite, the slut and the crack ho".

Yeah, that's probably Al's bluest song to date.

Nah. Still nothing tops slipping a masturbation joke into probably his best known original.

`Cause I'm stranded all alone in the gas station of love, and I have to use the self-service pumps

How did that never even cross my mind lol.

And Good Ol' Days is one of my favorites!

"did you hear the one about the kkk and the gay jewish black dude?"

Three days since we heard the tale About the guy who learned his woman was a she-male

Kids Jam - Fuck The Police.

Wanted to add that he didn't sing the curse words, just everything else. And it was amazing.

I found the video and, I was kinda hurt he got a stunt double to say the "Fuck you" part, but not surprised, the rest of the song was surpising enough.

    nothing especially controversial, no politics

    lol

  • Peter here: Weird Al didn’t parody the song, he performed Killing in the Name straight, including the rage and message. That’s unexpected because he’s known for comedy, so people assumed parody.

RATM actually approved it too, which makes the assumption even funnier

Weird Al doesn't do anything without artist approval. Even though he usually doesn't need it

At one time having a single parodied by him was the mark of making it for a lot of artists

    It still is...

    Who's he parodied recently lol

Who has made it as an artist recently that is worthy of being parodied?

edit: you know for a sub that's all about "explaining jokes", a lot of you really suck at even recognizing jokes. :D

It's not an issue of quality of artist, he's literally explained that radio culture is dead and songs don't stay affixed into the cultural zeitgeist for long enough anymore, usually, for him to write a song, perform it, and have the source still be culturally relevant.

Polkamania was literally him just slapping out a ton of recent contemporary songs, because they went viral but not for long enough for the conventional process, so he pulled songs together from the previous 10 years that "stuck" enough to be recognized.

Robin thicke is the most recent that I’m aware of. Word Crimes, great version

    13 years ago lmao

He joined Portugal the Man on stage for THEIR cover of the song, so I am not sure why people are spreading false info like this. Still, it doesn't take away from the impact of Al doing the song straight.

Portugal. The Man, Weird Al Yankovic, and Jorma Taccone from the Lonely Island has to be one of the most unexpected groups of artists to cover Killing in the Name together

  • Thats curious. Weird Al non-ironically singing a political song that is a sort of white version of NWA's "Fuck the police", in the way that critizices the police control and brutality and the justification of their deaths. Good song btw

The lead singer is part black and Mexican so not exactly white. Not just white at least so it’s not really the white version but a rock version.

It's funny because no one really thought of them as a "black" band like in living colour, but they're definitely racial. I didn't realize Tom was black for years because I'm dumb.

Drummer is a native American too

Tom Morello has a show on Sirius XM and he gets his 102 year old mom on it with him. Mary Morello is a fascinating lady, and she had a genuine friendship with Chris Cornell.

She would also occasionally introduce them at shows. Saw RATM for the first time in 08 and when the stage lights came on there was just a little old lady up there with all the gear.

I believe her intro went something like "Ladies and gentlemen, I present the greatest fucking band in the world: Rage Against the Machine!"

And she would so in standard grandma floral outfits.

True but it doesn’t have the n-word in it so white people can say all the words

    Very important distinction.

I feel like a song inspired by the beating of Rodney King and the riots that followed, shouldn't be summed up as a "white version of NWAs Fuck tha Police."

Especially because RATM are not 4 white guys

Most of them are mixed race and I think only their bassist is white.

Being a 2nd generation Sicilian and native American living in the US, unless you're very dark most people just assume we're white my best friend from El Salvador always jokes im off white just kinda ignored by everyone

White version.... How many members of rage are white bro 😂 like.... 1?

It’s not a “white” version, it’s a Rock song, Rock already comes from African-American music, anyway.

I agree with you but I despise that you've assigned a race to the song. Rock music isn't inherently for white people. Rap music isn't inherently for black people

How TF are rage against the machine white?

Their bassist and drummer are the only white ones.

  • Well, I'm fairly sure ICE (US. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) does not filter out clansmen from their recruits.

So the song is probably more right now than ever before.

Not that the Police force ever lacked far right loonies.

Filter out? They're their core recruitment pool.

Majority of the people they hire are from the Jan 6th riots, failed/fired cops, and dishonorably discharged soldiers.

No no. The majority of people that they hire and over 1/3 of the ICE members are VETERANS. not failed cops. VETERANS

as a middle eastern American, let me tell you “some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses” has more than one meaning to me.

No no. The majority of people that they hire and over 1/3 of the ICE members are VETERANS. not failed cops. VETERANS

There is a massive overlap between these things. The Venn diagram of [failed cop / veteran / proud boy type] is nearly just a circle.

You're right, it's just that they are both + racist as fuuuuck.

But the point is that our military is doing the same things abroad as home and to act like these are failed cops or dishonorably discharged and not a vast majority of honorably discharged veterans is the problem

  • The reaction shown in the meme is that because he didn't sing it in parody or ironically, that our political climate has gotten SO BAD that even non political, nice guy comedian singers are singing songs about the cops being racist fascists murderers without any sense of irony. So the last square is "oh my god the United States is THAT FUCKED?"

  • Weird Al is known not only for his parody’s, but being super family friendly, No swear words no controversies and defiently not political. The song “killing in the name” is basically a F THE POLICE type of song. So seeing him sing it is just jarring from most, almost like if it was SpongeBob singing it XD

“ With the hermaphrodite, the slut and the crack ho”

“ It's been three days since the bitter feud Between the K.K.K and that gay Jewish black dude”

    "fluffy, you b*tch!"

Them G rated lyrics you see in every Disney movie.

Well, the workshop is gone now, he decided to bomb it
Everywhere you'll find pieces of Cupid and Comet
And he tied up his helpers and he held the elves hostage
And he ground up poor Rudolph into reindeer sausage
He got Dancer and Prancer with an old German Luger
And he slashed up Dasher just like Freddy Krueger
And he picked up a flamethrower and he barbequed Blitzen
And he took a big bite and said, "It tastes just like chicken"

  • You know shits bad when weird al isn’t being wacky and whimsical

    Weird, isn't it.

  • Wierd Al picked his name well. He has a reputation for being like that Weird but cool Uncle who stays on the line of politics but never really dives in. He is most famous for doing parody versions of hip songs that make them more "family friendly" while making a bit of a point.

Rage Against the Machine was the opposite. Every single song of their is about how the system is designed to fuck us over, and the only acceptable answer is fighting back. Al singing a song about how white supremacy being a core part of law enforcement being by design rather than coincidence is a big deal. This is Al jumping in, because Fascism won't just go away.

In short, Weird Al singing "fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!" is a big change.

Just a note, Al refrained from singing "fuck you", always pulled the mic away at that part from his mouth going by the video.

  • Grillin in the Flame of?

Some of those that eat porridge, are the same that burn sausage.

To those who fry, encrustify, to grill with a flame is not cooking right.

pork juice, it won't drip if you sear meat!

  • It’s like the Onion becoming a reliable news source.

it just predicts events that havent happened yet

  • Man known for family friendly goofiness sang a song about the systemic racism in the USA and embodied the anger of the song on stage.

  • It’s not a joke. This just happened with the band “Portugal. The Man”. It was discussed on The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast because Jorma Taccone was up there too, weirdly pretending to be Pee-wee Herman.

This sounds like I’m kidding, but I’m not. Weird Al is on the left side in that video.

  • Aquabats have a great song with some solid lyrics thats stunt on rage against the machine.

Corporate America makes pencils for the man with the left hand They make pencils for the man with the right hand But what about the man with the numb hand? Four hundred grand to see The Rage From back here I can't see the stage It's time to start my own parade So lift up your arm and wave

  • When the comedic joke character gets serious and reveals his real power

  • The country is so fucked with all the ICE raids that Weird Al just became Normal Albert and did a non-parody cover of an anti-police protest song.

As an aside, you know who else covered this song? The North Korean Military Chorus. No shit. And you know what? It's not bad. It's pretty crazy hearing that song with a huge screen in the background playing video footage of missile launches and the entire seated military audience clapping in perfect unison, but not a bad cover.

EDIT - I have apparently been bamboozled. Turns out it's fake. I will own my silly mistake.
