I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you. It's a bit of a grey area in that the assassin wasn't associated with a political movement. It seems he may have had ideological reasons that were counter to the ideologies of a political movement (anti-trans) but there's no real political movement that's pro-trans in the same way reps are anti-trans (the dems pretend but aren't really).
One could argue that the various socialist movements are explicitly pro-trans simply by being pro-worker but the assassin doesn't seem to be a part of those movements.
Would you call racial hate motivated killings assassinations? Does it matter if one political movement is pro-racial hate or not for it to be political. Grey area.
