  • They haven’t finished bombing it to pieces yet to sell to foreign investors. Israel is a monster nation who hides behind Semitic history forgetting that Arabs are semites too. They are a prime example of why ethnostates (regardless of ethnicity) never work and will always end in a subjugation of the other.

  • That this is a decision of some clerk - the kid needs help, the Israeli hospital are willing to provide it - is even after all that’s gone on, something that boggles the mind.

I mean I can understand the thought processes of some IDF artillery man flinging shells into a densely packed residential area, or a drone operator firing a missile at a car or even a soldier bursting into a room and spraying everyone inside with automatic fire; from their point of view their subconscious can try and convince them that the people they kill then are dehumanized, people who at worst family of a bad man or at best were just there when the war happened.  That even if they killed them “in error” it was because they were scared, in an externally induced rage or doing their countries duty etc etc.  Obviously to an independent observer it’s all self-delusion but it’s possible to see why someone might desperately try to convince themselves of it.

This on the other hand is just impossible to fathom; you know who this kid is and what he has, and you know there is a body of your countrymen willing to try and help him.  You, in full possession of the facts, then take the decision to kill him if he doesn’t go elsewhere.

It probably requires another psychopath to understand.

This is the banality of evil envisioned by Arendt.

It’s exactly that, to see hatred so defined that it encompasses denying a young child the healthcare that other people want to give them, solely because they are one of “them”.

Maybe it requires the mindset that comes from having hated to the point of being willing to kill. I can wrap my head around it. I would not do so anymore, but spent a long portion of my life filled with hate.

To be clear: it was directed at my biological father, not some kid I never met.
