9000 Newtons has been measured in american alligators but I can't remember of the top of my head if that is peak or sustained and which one that Sakamoto paper used .
There's no source that isn't a 2bit popsci website at best.There's surprisingly very little in regards to actual real scientific measurements of big mammal bite forces.

A cursory google gives hippos a bite force over 8000 Newtons.

Bite force isnt something that can be done super scientifically anyway. The animal in question can just decide to.. not bite down particularly hard?
