I was literally thinking about it the other day that we don't have a character who primarily plays into map control, like Junk has traps, Sym and Torb have turrets and Mei can wall but these are all just parts of their kits rather than being the main focus of the character, I'd really love a DPS who plays similarly to Caustic from Apex or Peni from MR
Default legendary skins for new heroes is a crazy guess, probably the only one on here that I’d be willing to bet a large sum of money will never happen.
Look, they require custom voicelines, animations, variants... and you can get it with battlepass. Meanwhile regular shop skins costs 2x more and require less effort less expenses and you can play with FOMO with them (while mythic stays in mythic shop forever).
In my personal opinion popular characters got their mythic early and/or bad to make them crossed out of the list (and make their mains quite) so they can focus on creating shop skins more.
I am expecting Wuyang mythic very soon, maybe even next season. But it will be mediocre at best and 3 new, better looking shop skins for him will be released the very next season.
If they can put in the effort for 3 new Kiri skins they can definitely give her a second mythic if they wanted. A lot of energy goes into her that much is obvious.
But look, even most shitty mythic requires 3 looks, voicelines, animations, promotional video etc.
Let's say, for easier math, 1 mythic skin requires similar effort to 3 shop skins.
Each shop skins needs around 2000 coins, which is $20. So three shop skins is $60. And you can be sure they will sell. A lot. Every single one of them. It's guarantee.
Now let's take 1 mythic skin. One battlepass gives enough prisms to buy 1 full mythic skin. Battlepass is worth 1000 coins, so $10. What gives us $50 less for the same effort.
I know probably more people would buy mythic than random shop skin, but there is also risk of angry playerbase boycotting this due to "not every character have mythic and they release 2nd for cash cows" thing. So why risk potential negative consequences for smaller revenue?
Kiriko don't need mythic to sell well. So it's not worth making one. At least for now. But you can bet she will be first in queue when they will cover all heroes, which can happen faster as they are releasing 2 mythics per season now.
As someone who's never watched it I'd actually like a One Piece collab, I think alot of the characters look cool and could be translated into fun overwatch skins
One piece is my favorite anime of all time, but I'm more excited for a possible Gurren Lagann Collab specifically because of Venture lol, they could be Simon quite easily and Ramattra could be Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Genji could be Kamina, Kiriko or Juno could be Yoko.
