For some reason there’s a population of Redditors who believe that anything on r/wellthatsucks deserves to be reposted here and when the mods delete it they crash out and repost it some more as revenge.
I think yesterday’s shitstorm of sausage posts was a bunch of those guys all crashing out simultaneously.
My dad had a cracked toilet he refused to get replaced. I finally just called a plumber to change the toilet when he was out of the country, made the trip to his house to let the plumber in and out, and Dad never even noticed that the toilet is different. He’ll never know how I saved his life.
It’s happened. But the bigger risk is just adding a variable to another accident/injury. A cracked toilet is more likely to break during a fall, more likely to cause a fall, etc. The bathroom is generally a slippery place.

I always hear about how bad this is but the chances of it actually happening are stupidly low. Y'all get too paranoid over this. Oh, and don't forget to downvote this truthful comment.
I mean, there's a difference between being skeptical of exaggerated danger and actively claiming that the risk is low, that's all.
I can't find a source or list of such incidents where injury or death occurred, but the stories I have heard are horrific. It seems that the one time it does happen, it's very bad.
Idk if there’s a recorded case of someone dying, but there have been cases where people were wounded by sitting on a toilet that collapsed under them: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8146638/. I grant that it is extremely rare, but still possible
Posts must include a person INTENTIONALLY and IGNORANTLY interacting with a deadly/harmful subject.
I feel like this sub needs a “no cracked toilets” rule to complement the “no spicy pillows” rule.
And maybe a “no expired sausages” rule too.
I've seen that sausage like a 1000 times. I feel like reddit is forcing that sausage down my throat at this point.

Why is a crack in a toilet deadly?
Imagine it suddenly breaking and now you're falling, femoral artery first onto razor sharp porcelain.
That a shitty way to go!

It can suddenly turn into a seat of daggers with you unprepared to hold your body weight as you impale your anus upon them.
Because like that one time where the crack was so bad that someone sat on it and got shards of ceramic through their legs or something.

That's pretty much what OceanGate decision makers said before Titan imploded when they had proof of hull degradation
Oh give me a break. Who wants to SIT on cracked porcelain? It's obviously stupid and dangerous. The hotel needs to change that toilet.

The only problem is nobody has ever died from sitting on a cracked toilet and it broke. Like I said, too paranoid.
Being struck by lightning is also very unlikely, but I still don't stand next to tall trees during a storm.

Prove it. Show me statistics or actual incidents where this has happened. You can't.

I'm not interested in digging up a bunch of gorey photos for a self righteous ignorant reddit dickhead.
