Decided to go with th first outfit after a discussion qith my designer friend who told me its not clashing if its a natural pattern with plaid. Right on it with the shoes though black do look great! Thanks!

The tights are the problem. They're clashing with the skirt. A simple black tight (paired with the black shoe) will simplify /make the outfit work.
The skirt is really short -- before you go out, do a backside-check in the mirror. Or ask a trusted friend whether you're showing more than you mean to.
Agree. It is not even the pattern; it is the color. Burgundy tights, red plaid, and then a white sweater just don't come together. Either a black sweater with black tights or white sweater with white tights.
If you are hard up on them tights you should do black.. The off red of the tights makes it look bad.. Black or red tights would let it go good.. Even white ones..

Plain black tights work better, no pattern
